I saw a comment a few minutes about in a about scouts soaking up 300 rounds from a HMG w/o dying, but I played several matches today where I was getting mowed down by a few good Heavies. I'm not saying that the hit detection is perfect, especially when it comes to the scouts, but I think some might be blaming their bad aim with bad hit detection. The last few days I've played I made note of times when I would make it out battle where its me vs 3 other players using techniques like the run juke; then comparing it to when I go against someone one on one and lose almost instantly. I'm not the best player but I can hold my own, and what I"m starting to notice is that the when I make out of those situations that I should not have, those players tend to be toward the lower have of k/d screen. I'm just saying, I run scout (for its mobility) and I die plenty. What are your guys thoughts? |

Ur correct thats why i watch where my bullits go i have noticed many times a bullit goes straight through someone also times my aim just sucks. But i mostly base my accounts off my dropship as i can see when my gnners misiles goes straight through the ground or other objects presumable 2/3 of the time |

Hit detection is latency related, so there is a different experience for everyone.I die a lot against HMGs with my scout, but I also often see scouts sponging my shotgun, even when they are standing still. Or heavies taking a full mag of my shotgun in the back before turning around and mowing me down with their HMG. I am sure the heavies complaining about sponge scouts also have a similarly bad latency as I have. |

No, hit detection and player feedback are very poor currently. |

Actually it depends on the match I just started running heavy today and I find matches where I will just rip people a new one very quick and then the next game I will just see a wall of blue as the scouts shields light up from getting hit but not a single hit marker and find it impossible to kill them.
So yes a few people have **** aim but someone like me who can shoot the guys head off while running does not have bad aim. I keep that HMG dead on center mass if not even towards the head as my area of damage narrows.
I do agree some people have bad aim. But I have been able to go right through HMG fire and not get a scratch on my scout suit because hit detection is bad other times it is like a big wammy hits me and I am insta dead in my scout suit. |

I think people are confusing bad aim with bad hit detection. I heard all weapons are projectile, rather than hitscan, which is great! But also means you have to lead your shots from time to time.
I have never had a problem with hit detection, but maybe it's because (think) I understand how it works, and how to hit regardless.
I've been leading my shots from the beginning ^^ |

I do lead running targets with my Sniper, but I should not have to lead my targets with my Shotgun at point blank range. As it is now, I have to aim right past the enemy in CQC, anticipating where he will go, if I want to hit. |

All too frequently I see a persons shield flare without taking any damage. Hit detection is very much a problem. |

Hit detection on scouts is... off. I can spend about 50 bullets with my HMG and kill an assault, but it often takes me till my second overheat + a round of my SMG to kill a scout. |

When shooting SMGs, ARs, etc in close range I rack it up to bad aim. I can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn with an HMG outside of 10 meters with the target centered in the ring, dunno if that's me or not.
When sniping not so much. Long range shots where I can barely see the target through smoke.. maybe. On those I find shooting about a dots width above their head seems to work most times. When I spawn 20m behind a crouched red and put a charge rifle round right to the back of the head and get a blue shield deflection, well that isn't an aim problem. I also have what should be definite hits that don't damage when crouching partially behind an object or hill, even though the rifle and scope appear to be unobstructed. If I stand from behind the hill on the same shots, sometimes the hit still doesn't register.
Maybe hit detection is off on about everything. It stands out more for me on sniping because of the nature of a precision shot. When you have a perfect sight picture on someone, moving or not, most folks can tell if they should have registered center body hit or if they shot early/late. Lag can be a problem on moving targets, sometimes leading works. Usually I switch to a close quarters fit and avoid the frustration. |

Like I said, the hit detection is off for the scout, but I run into the same situations when I run Assault, so I think sometimes it just that person's bad aim and not hit detection at all.
But CCP said they're implementing a new FPS system for the next build, so I hope all this will be resolved. |

personally I think the HMG is bugged. I've thought about posting this as a topic for a while now, but this seems like a good place to discuss it. The average HMG fires 750 rounds per minute - approx 12 rounds per second. assuming that's doing 33 dmg per hit then that's 399 points of damage in a second. Enough to take down a scout in less than 2 seconds. but I've experienced the shield graphic flaring up on a scout crouched in the mountains while I'm stood approx 2 metres away without his actual shield going down. There are other issues about the HMG I could mention (don't even talk to me about assault rifles doing more damage) but this is a definite game mechanic that needs fixing. I don't care if the accuracy rating of it is less than 60% if I'm stood 2m away from a target then this shouldn't matter. Hope this doesn't come across as the rant I feel like making sometimes, and if anyone wants to discuss this then I'm open to criticism. |

If you get dropped in a foreign server, you suffer. I think the whole "one universe" thing isn't working too well in this regard, but what can you do? |

I think it's a combination of both. For me personally, I know my K/D (only accurate measure of this I am aware of) can fluctuate a bit, and the occasional horrible game will lead to controller tossing in other FPS'. That being said, I have experienced all of the above.
Reaction to sniper fire in my assault suit appears to be the most balanced. I can usually outrun them, but the sniper that leads the shot will often drop or critically wound me. Makes sense.
But when I'm in a mid-range combat and have to lead my AR bullets on a strafer, the swing seems to go a bit haywire. I've had dead-to-rights shots w/no shield affect, and I've had quick kills on a player who has obviously done some suit fitting.
I've posted zigzag opinions in addition to gunplay issues, but I honestly can't seem to get a handle on where the issue exactly lies with me. |

It's hard to tell when your screen freezes every 3 seconds at close range. However, when someone is standing still and they take no damage from half a clip of SMG or 3 shots of a shot gun, there is something wrong with the programming. |

Most of the time it's just my crap aim mixed with lag. I rarely feel as if my shots went through someone...with no effect of course. |

My thought is that people who fight scout suits who strafe with SMGs get to see terrible hit detection constantly. My other thought is that people who use scout suits and SMGs while strafing do better than they normally would due to the hit detection keeping them alive, so they're more likely to believe the game isn't actually broken, but rather that they're simply really good players.
Pretty standard stuff. It's like tank drivers thinking they were driving balanced vehicles and it was just other people who sucked, or snipers thinking that sniping is fine and other people just need to learn how to dodge/use cover/whatever. |
