7-shots is ridiculous and takes control away from the player. If you guys are just trying to be different for the sake of being different make a 4-shot burst. |

Its kind of funny that the burst (and other variants) are ultimately inferior to the basic variant, yet cost more ISK. There is a reason why most people don't bother with breach, or burst, or tactical.
I really would prefer a 3 round burst. |

I kind of automatically burst in 3 shots. Seriously though, I think full auto is better, as you can choose in how many shots you want to burst. And at very close ranges full-auto most likely beats burst. |

At this moment, you right. But the whole point of burst ARs is better accuracy due to less kick. I burst with the full auto too (mind you i'm fully skilled in the AR) and even then 7 round burst of the burst ARs has less kick than 3 round burst of the full auto. I have an SMG for close range, I want the burst because for some reason (in most games) I'm more accurate in the mid-range. The way they are now though, the burst ARs takes too much control away from the player. Hell, if CCP wants to keep the 7 round bursts, at least give us the ability to control the # of shot on how long we hold down the shoot button. |

Better yet, why not just make the basic AR less accurate? This would solve everything, and actually make more sense.
In my view, this is how the ARs should line up:
Basic: high ROF, medium damage, low accuracy, large clip Breach: low ROF, high damage, medium accuracy, large clip Burst: medium ROF, medium (or low) damage, medium accuracy, medium clip Tactical: semi-auto ROF, high damage, high accuracy, small clip
Right now, the basic AR has so much accuracy that it makes the gun seem all around better than any of the other variants, which gives it a significant advantage since it really had no disadvantage besides weapon damage. |

I don't understand the thinking behind the assault rifle layout. Basic knowledge of firearms evolution and actual modern day use shows the Dust layout to be off.
1: Long range- Sniper rifle. Dust is grand here.
2: Mid to long range- Sniper rifle or a medium magnification scoped battle rifle. Dust again is grand here.
3: Mid range- Battle rifle like the FN Fal or H&K G3,or a high accuracy 2-3 round burst fire assault rifle like the G11 or AN 94 . Dust has a high ROF assault rifle here!!!
4: Close range- A high ROF assault rifle(it's in the name). Dust has a battle rifle here!!!
And yes I know that in a lot of elite forces there is quite a lot of mixing and matching weapons to use on non standard ranges but that's due to a high familiarity with the weapon that allows the soldier to be a lot move diverse with it.
