Yeah, CCP tried to reduce tank spam by upping the prices but that did nothing. The only thing I think would work is a cap on how often a tank can be called in, so like a HAV driver could call one in after 5 (completed) games I think that would make it more reasonable. We all know any dedicated HAV would hate this but I do think it is a reasonable Idea. |

thats b/s.... that wont work if you dont want a team to call in a tank put ted on the map... i hear im pretty well known... i lost a tank today so what did i do upgrade full proto gear on my tank... ready for round two i think so |

There shouldn't be any caps on tanks, there should be more ways to take them down. |

Nah. Just limit the amount each team can have or make it where each side has like a limit cap on how many vehicles they can use. Kinda like SC2 or any other RTS and the better the Vehicle the more points(CP) it will take from the overall CP (I think CP is the right word compared to "Food Limit") |

There should be a limit. If not this will be a console version of EvE. I think they use only ships from what I seen on youtube. |

I wish CCP would make some comment on future plans for these issues. This build may not (probably won't) represent final release conditions as we are mainly battle testing relative strengths and weaknesses on equipment etc. Once that data collection is done we may see more realistic builds of the gameplay but I haven't seen much to indicate that if they have these plans they are willing to release that info and remove some fears that they are having trouble getting this balanced. |

I was rolling around with a guy earlier, he just uses militia tanks at about 140k a piece. 0 deaths, descent number of kills with the sniper rifle..I mean railgun...

as much as i hate tank spam bad idea the reason u see tank spam is because those tankers are in a grp tanks dont really need a health nerf they just need capacitors , ewar and other **** like flux nades to work as intended and TBQH @ OP if ur not in a grp/corp etc and pubbin by urself u will have to accept abuse like this because the randoms on ur team wont have the common sense to have an AV fit ready to deal with tanks
I still see ppl using AP nades an **** like wtf, everyone should have AV nades tbh, use ur gun to kill infantry and everyone should have a swarm launcher fit as well
ive played in the corp battles since it started and let me tell u once ppl develop a brain and can work together on a larger scale u can force tanks to back up easy problem is everyone expects someone else to grab an AV fit instead of taking the initiative and just swappin from their precious infantry killin machine fit |

Not sure what will happen with the tanks. I hope the AV nerf is reverted soon. I know the real tank drivers dont want tanks nerfed or AV buffed. But, you have to admit, tanks right now are immortal. Unless you have your whole team with AV and gangbanging that tank. I hope there will be a "balance" of some sort once ewar and other counter measures are put in place.
I am playing the beta of planetside 2. If anyone has played either planetside 1 or the beta of 2, you know there is a timer on vehicles. Once you pull it, the timer ticks. If you lose your tank, you have to wait till it's timer has expired before you can pull a new one. I believe tanks are somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 min. I'm guessing, as I haven't payed real close attention as I rarely use tanks. Perhaps something like that should be implemented here.
Granted, the timer still doesn't stop multiple people pulling tanks at the same time. As another poster stated, maybe have a limit on how many of certain vehicles are allowed. I know there is a limit to total vehicles, but perhaps, maybe vehicles specific would help. Not sure how hard that would be to implement. Perhaps a combination of the two. This would help keep a "balance" on the field so one team doesn't have 5 tanks on the field, 1 at each point, depending on the map, and 1 or 2 roving. A setup like that, there would be virtually no way of winning that match. Especially the way it is now.
Just a couple of ideas to keep in mind. |

In this game the only thing that counts is SP. The old FPSers think that stuff like K/D is the premier stat, but SP is really where it is at (in my opinion).
Maybe the way to reduce the tank spam would be to reduce the SP per kill, per damage etc dramatically for tank kills. Make it so that its no easier to get good SP (and Isk for that matter) than if you were an infantry fooot soldier. |

Tanks are fun to play against you people just arnt doing it right. Toy with the tank. Have fun with the tank. Distract the tank. Not to hard for an assult suit to do this and then his buddies have 1 brought there own tank or 2 squaded into av fits and snuck up on the tank. Honetly u people just need to stop playing cod and start playing dust514. Not saying av weapons arnt underpowered cause they are but not by as much as everyone makes them out to be al thats needed is a very small buff. |

I am in a battle right now with 4 tanks and an LAV.. there is NOTHING you can do, I tried pulling out my heavy dropsuit multiple times but you can't get a shot without one of the other vehicles taking you out

Not a pro tank user but sounds pretty solid to me, inexpensive as well?
Butting few points to hybrid turrets to get better main rail-gun seems pretty good choice as well. Standard rail-guns do cost a bit more tough, but they are somewhat better than militia variants. Provides some inexpensive oomph for softening tanks up.
I have been thinking about the speed modules as well. While you are making yourself highly vulnerable against AV, it just might help soften up top-quality tanks from a distance by keeping that distance. Too bad I don't have a drivers license so I suck at driving, especially when driving blindly while aiming. |

Most I'v seen was 7 on enemy team. They were too busy killing to capture null points so it just came down to a timer. Can they take out all our clones before our null cannons take out their mcc. They came close, but they lost. |
