We also asked them a while back while we were still in the last build and they said there were only 2 more scheduled that they knew of at the time, one of them being this last one. Whether they were counting the reset for release in that number is unknown. Since E3, they've moved to an "only reset when necessary" stance last I've heard, and the move to Singularity was one of those necessary times. |

I will love it when i never have to do it again. Like that previous poster mentioned, they said that they wanted to minimize resets, and they also mentioned that the last reset was more that they were putting us on a new database which, of course, would have none of our previous data present. Given the issues they said they've had with 'cherrypicking' related to other elements of the database, putting all of our accumulated stats into it at once would likely have killed it. |

I actually loves the character wipes with every new build. I love the new grind with all the players on the same level. The first 24 hrs of a reset are awesome without the bugs of course. |

That would be logical because if not nobody would test the low tier items.

There will be one more reset when we deploy the next release. We are doing some backend changes as well as moving to TQ, so there's unfortunately no way around it. On the bright side, there shouldn't be any more resets afterwards, unless something goes catastrophically wrong :) |

Just to point out, for free-to-play games it's common for the open beta phase of testing to be kind of like an early release and not have a wipe at its conclusion. So it would make sense if the next build marks the end of closed beta and, thus, the end of character wipes. |

well for CCP sake and DUST sake if this is marking the end of the closed phase i really hope they get the FPS mechanics and other bs right if they making the beta open now cuz i can tell u honestly the game will push ppl away in its current state and open beta testing should be more minor tests and server stress tests than trying to do major stuff....really hope CCP knows what they doin cuz tbh they have already made some big mistakes with how they handled the beta already |

We haven't had much time to get through and test all of the new stuff yet and we're already getting reset? I get that these things happen, but I don't think we've had enough time to really get to the meat of this build especially with all the dropped games and the like. Are we talking moving to TQ with the September build, or are we talking that when we move to TQ later we'll get a wipe? |

My friend... Most of the beta testers have been dealing with this garbage for a few months now.
FIX IT first before putting new content in. I have tried 5-10 corp matches when they were up. Everytime invalid fitting or connection to host lost.....
Things should get better TM

Na, i do not bye that garbage. When there are HUGE problems like we have now and have had for months and they still are not fixed. But in the meantime we have had corp vs. corp battles inplimented, enhanced graphics (and the brief footstep sound the in the match waiting room)............ but still the match making and match finishing "program" cant work 100% of the time we have something wrong.

I feel for the CCP devs. I've done my share of large software projects, and kind of bugs that tick off people the most are the hardest to find and fix.
Well, the fix is often easy. It's finding the kitten thing that's such a pain.
Consider: You have 500,000+ lines of code, broken up into different objects and modules, that work together to take a character, his skills, fittings, and inventory and drop them into a realtime match along with 31 other characters, skillsets, and fittings.
Now imagine that sometimes, just sometimes, all of the fittings are coming back as invalid. (this one isn't hard I know).
But, how do you go about fixing it? Step one, reproduce the problem. So it happens mainly but not always in skirmish. Not a big help. It seems to happen more if you're screwing with the fittings, but not always. It seems to happen more if the match is well underway, but not always.
Somewhere in the myriad of paths the code can take to get from beginning of merc quarters to beginning of match, there's a bug that makes the system think that you have no inventory. But only think. It's not actually clearing the inventory, it's not losing data, it's just forgetting. It's a data passing issue, most likely.
But without knowing exactly what that path is, good luck finding it. You can bet the devs are dropping into and out of hundreds of matches trying to get the invalid bug to happen every time. Once they know that, they can fix it.
And most of the bugs we're complaining about are like that. Sometimes, I drop to MQ, but not always. Sometimes, the market is empty, but not always. Sometimes, comms don't work, but not always. If we really want CCP to fix these problems, we should be trying to get them to happen every time. If you can find the route to the bug, they can fix it, and you get to be the hero. |

Honestly. You people want devs to post here more often, yet you act like they are trying to scam you. They're building a game, they can't guarantee something won't mess up, so they can't say for sure whether something will happen or not. Quit acting like this, why would anybody want to ever speak to you when you quote him, and tell him because he said "Should" it doesn't instill confidence.
Either listen to the devs, and quit complaining, or shut the hell up about wanting them to post here more often. On the IRC, we ask questions, we tell them stuff. We don't complain, call them names, or continue on about one problem in particular.
Although, I highly doubt that's the reason they don't post here often, I know it'd help getting them here more, if you actually helped them, rather than bitched. Unless, of course, you want to code the whole game yourself, mail it to them, and let them take it as their own. |

So since the next build is moving to TQ,does that also mean that we will be moving to an open beta stage of testing? |
