The only real threat for a tank now is another tank. AV weapons are a joke. You need like 6 people dedicated to camp into hard to hit spots and keep spamming swarms while beeing aible to restock ammo with nano hives. This leads to another problem as soon many tanks show up the battlefield snipers come out of their caves to hunt down AV people. |

There is this odd misconception floating around, that AV fittings should be able to take out a tank single handedly. Some even seems to think that Militia AV gear should do the trick.
They couldn't be more wrong if they tried.
That said, the latest AV gear nerf do seem a little heavy handed, and it opens up the old problem from the previous build. In a Drop ship, fly high, and be safe. I don't mind that an Eryx is HARD to kill. It should be, even with a P2W Swarm Launcher. But if it went high, and lust a little down range, I couldn't eve lock onto it. A range nerf were needed, it used to be infinity, and that was just a little silly. But CCP went to the opposite extreme on this one. |

I have had 2 x 4 man squads working on my tank I think it was a GAC and a Warriors . These guys dont suck and do work as a team.
Ask them how it turned out... Granted I didnt have as much free rign to rofl stomp but I did ok.
It should not take more than 8 good guys to take out a solo tank.
You could say these guys aint good but you would have to be in the very small % to beable to make that claim without sounding like a kitten. When I see em I get my game face on.

I keep hereing this theory that people want to take out a tank single handily and use militia gear. Get that thought out of your head I roll with a couple of teams that are fully fiited in AV so a minimum of four dedicated tank hunters. And of course we use comms and ask for all people to spawn AV weapons and focus on a tank. We spent the whole match chasing the tank. As soon as we did any damage off he goes to rep up. We jump back in our decked out saga and continue the chase. We have taken out some low end tanks but have yet to take out a well fitted tank.
And the pay out is pathetic to the investment needed to run this fit for us. I die 4- 6 more time than i would if I didn't chase tanks and my proto forge gun cost as much as I can make in that match. Let alone that you get picked off by other anti infantry because your forge take so long to charge up.
A tank can drive to me from across the map in about the same time it takes my forge to charge up. My other team mates use another forge and two swarm launchers with all AV grenades.
So how. many people should it take with proto guns to take out a well fitted tank?

Actualy he's the only infantry man to have taken out my tank that I can remember since I speced em up. Granted the cheeky git ran me over as I called in in then nicked it. Anyway that tanked die cos I had to kill it .. WITH ANOTHER TANK...sigh
Best thing you can do is hide in the redzone once you have been redlined. That kinda forces me to go into it and well I lost alot of tanks in the redzone because I always stay to long.
Or try standing next to a cliff so when i run you over I fall down the side and into the redzone..thats happend a few times to me as well.
Just for gods sake stop trying to use AV on it its just dumb and your loosing alot of isk trying. |

Last build with the best of the best AV taking out a Sagaris or a Surya was a team effort. I usually had to herd the other cats into spawning a militia railgun tank for support/roadblocks or get a few other forge/Proto swarms together - it took several tries and many deaths. There were times I could "Solo" a gunlogi or a madrugar, but it was mostly due to pilot inexperience, a lack of infantry supporting them, and me catching them in the absolute worst possible area for them to be in.
Good luck killing any of these tanks now even with support unless they are fit so poorly as to be of little consequence to begin with. |

lol that was me yesterday behind the hills spamming SL and when i saw u coming i jumped behind the hill to hide but what you know! i saw your tank jumping over me into the redzone i was happy but when i tired to climb up i kitten stucked at the freakin terrain and committed suicide shortly i saw you and two other committing suicide lol i was telling Taste i cost u a tank then u just called another one
me and Taste (Clone number 1) tried our best yesterday to hold at least one objective but we couldn't i spammed the hell out of my SL but nothing seems to work against those tanks |

I have a good time Hunting HAV/LAV/Dropships...I have blown up a good number, and very few HAV solo, but they do go down. I use Heavy w/ Forge gun most the time. Last build I cold solo just about any tank, this build is better for tanks but not a bad thing. It should be a challeng to destroy one, hell thats why I play. Even if I go 0/8 trying to drop a good tanker its ok. Its a game, I drop in again and try another tactic/setup. Its like some of you really get hurt, lol get a grip. |

The issue with the whole tank issue it seems, to me at least, is that there's two tiers of tank drivers. There's those who have spec'd in it and have geared up their beast to the eyeballs with crazy prototype stuff and then there's the scrubs, who haven't done any skills and run low end gear.
The top tier guys, can't do anything against them solo. Period. Not even worth trying, head to the other side of the map and fight over there and ignore them. If enough guys on your team swap over to AV you might get him hurt, maybe, but more likely that'll just allow the other team's infantry to gun you down.
The scrubs on the other hand, lol militia swarm launchers go! You can drop these guys easy as.
And therein lies the problem...
The tanks when tweaked up are OP to the point where they may as well be invincible, but the scrubs keep loosing their dodgy ones which camouflages the OPness of the top tank guys.
Fully tweaked out tanks should be hard to take down, don't get me wrong on that, but right now, they're too hard even for gangs.
Personally, I think the answer is something that can pin the tank still, like a new grenade type or weapon that only slows down vehicles. That way if the tank driver overextends himself he can be pinned down and swarmed on. Maybe even just dropping their max speed down so they can't blitz away when in trouble would be enough.
It'd at least make them more cautious, knowing they may not be able to run away whenever things start to go bad for them. |

Besides, we'll probably see really open maps eventually, with no or very few buildings and mostly flat terrain. A map like that would almost necessitate an all HAV force.
We'll also have maps that are even more closed off than Communication and Biomass where HAVs won't fit at all, or will be unable to maneuver if they can.
What I'm getting at is balance is more complicated than you think. |

What these idiots don't seem to realise or give a toss about is THEY are ruining what could be a great game. Fine by me, defend your god mode all you want, put off any new player trying this game for good. which you have all done plenty I might add. I don't care you murder noobs and go 40 or 50 for 0, but when you have noone to play but all your other tanky mates in an empty game don't wonder why. There always will be other fps's, so laugh while you can, ruin the game while you can, keep sucking ccp while you can, nothing lasts forever. |

So I adapted and when Lurch had a HAV on the map it went poof! via railgun heavy installation. But these installations are easy to kill for HAVs. Yes but these are MILITIA installations.
When we have advanced or proto installations then what happens to the HAVs?? POOF!! go the HAVs with DEPLOYABLE installations.
Many, many tears will be shed on that day by HAV drivers. |
