Here's your advice.
-Don't stand around getting shot while you are shooting.
-Stick together - This doesn't mean to hump the merc next to you. it means to watch one another's back - that is done by turning around if everyone in front of you is facing forward.
-When on the move with your group don't follow one another like ducks in a row. Ducks get shot, and when the duck in front takes two to the head the duck behind him generally takes five. Fan out and get in where you fit in.
-Don't fire your swarm launcher at infantry. It's sad, but you're not there to try and drive the enemy into a deep depression until they take their own lives.
-Train tank skills. This game is all about tanks now. Don't bother with anything else - including the above advice. It's outdated. Just remember - Tanks tanks tanks. |

use the shield extenders and armor plating to improve your frail health and just work on getting the shuffle/jump down that everyone seems to use until you get a hang of the way this game plays.
you should also try sniping for a bit. being able to hang back and observe the way the gunfights play out really helped me get into the swing of things.

Don't even think about trusting your team mates in Dust 514, IF you don't have any idea of their skill level (e.g you have played as a squad before and laughed at opposing team with your humbly magnificent points/KD ratio together. )
1. They'll most likely fire the enemy the first chance they get no matter where -> alerting all kinds of **** to your position. (e.g Tanks, more tanks, Shotgun scouts, me, the others, and him)
2. Don't except a group of these players to capture an objective for you or win a 3 vs 1 situation. -> if you need something done, do it yourself if you can.
3. Don't expect these people to keep you safe when you're hacking an objective -> as soon as you see hostiles on map, stop hacking and defend yourself if you are not like 99% done.
4. Don't expect to win if enemy team has tanks and your team has none, just play it safe. -> generally these people have suicidal tendencies and want to get intimate with all tanks they see. -> if your team has a decent tank, you better protect that thing with your life. The driver just might know what hes doing, besides av-infantry are often easy targets provided you keep your distance.
5. Assume you are the only one in your team with a radar. -> Yes, you are the only one in your team with radar so better use that ****. This tip will save lives. |

1.Team up squad of 3 less game invald/ not deploying issues 2.One Heavy Ar or HMG 3.At least one maybe two logistics in squad 4.Use your mics Do this and your experiance will be better. Note I am assuming that your squad of three people will stay within 5 to 10 feet of each other. Otherwise you are on your own and will die shortly |

Only bothered to read page two of this thread, only person who seems to know what he is talking about is just bad, listen to him, except SMG vs AR at CQC, the AR is always better at any range, always use the SMG as a last resort.
the rest, stupids don't pay attention to them especially the laughable bittervet complaining about AUR, my gawd what a tard, if he actually played the game for more then 2 matches before raging he might know that aur gear is a bees **** better then standard and hardly worth spending money on. |

It's a military term for a grenade that has the spoon thrown off as grenade usually has approx 12s detonation time it's called cooking to wait deliberately before throwing the nade. Idea is to stop enemy from throwing the nade back but in RL you'd be in a lot of trouble for deliberately cooking your nades before throwing them if your superiors would heard from it.

Hello new gamers , just to say before that i m french and try to explain as i can.Last month i started this game and after 2 defeated i though it was really hard (killed in 10 scd).but when you progress the game play start to be more interressant
The skills are very important, up your clone in the same direction and give him skill point for the armor, the shield, and the gun.Don t spend skill point every where try to be in a full position.
Together we are more strong evidently. In the firth battle following the group can save your live.Agree with other post take a militia rifle and submachine gun ( try to be in militia until earn enought isk to by modules and gun hardest)
SEE you soon in the battlefield

Don't listen to arimal, he don't know what he's talking about.
Some Aur gear DOES give significant bonuses. If not in the Damage or health stats directly, then in other stats. But the bonuses are there. The one most non-eve players supporting P2W items overlook is the PG and CPU stats. Some P2W items di have a massive reduction on those two requirements, meaning you'll be able to fit a lot better gear on other slots, that you wouldn't be able to with non P2W gear. Ergo, it is P2W. |

Not really, many of the vets are running around in inexpensive standard or militia fits just save cash for better weapons, skill books and stuff. Just did a 17/3 round with the Merc pack Scout-suit, SMG and Shotgun which are all standard level for as far as I can tell (one tier above militia). Just try to keep on your weapons preferable range and you should do well. Assault rifle is inferior against SMG and Shotgun on close range, but deadly from medium range. If you are one who prefers accuracy over spraying and trailing then tactical Assault rifle is for you. If you like close and personal then scout-suit or heavy suit with SMG/Shotgun can be pretty deadly combination. or you could just specs on Tanks like someone suggested. Until the Web Mines come out next build and tanks start having to watch out. I'm gonna laugh my ass off the first time I see a mighty Sagaris stuck in the middle of the road while AV 'nades rain on it like hailstones. It will be GLORIOUS!! |

As you can tell, just about everyone has their own way of doing this. This being not being killed so quickly, and becoming a powerful character. Here is a quick list though, of what I see that helps me, and others.
-find out what weapons you like the most, then try leveling up those weapon's skills -stay in a group, or try to at least follow one person around, be their "wingman" and this will allow you a better chance of getting a kill -if you are by yourself, try to steer clear of walking across more than one guy
Just those three things helped me get some skill points to increase the damage i dealt. |

I'm not supporting P2W, but fact is that in order to survive in the battles, I'm forced to use some of it. And I'm getting better scores, SP and ISK as a result, compared to the pure ISK items fits.
I'm not a great player by any measure, but with AUR items I have a fairly good chance of getting a positive KDR, while surviving assisting on other objectives. With ISK only items, I get mowed down...
Aur Items DO give a significant advantage, and they shouldn't be. |

Just Bad wrote: Use the minimap - Get into the habit of glancing at this to see where friendlies and hostiles are and how you can use it to your advantage. Fighting someone with their back turned to you is preferable to fighting one who gets line of sight on you the same time you do on them. This matters so much more than a lot of the other advice here, position, like in most FPS, is king.
This. Take advantage of the fact that your team is "spotting" people, they show up in your minimap. Try to use cover to get yourself behind them, then open up on them. If it looks like their dot is "looking for you", get yourself away. If your team seems at all competent, be patient and keep "eyes on" the enemy and help your team take them out...
