Tanks in this build will be even stronger probs, mainly because its so expensive to train into proto AV stuff to begin with but even if you manage to whack it onto a low T1 suit you will get raped by the tank as soon as it sees you, even tho tanks will be expenisve its prob alot easier to train into and chances are will last the whole game, dropships wont counter the tank only AV can and now forge has a limit on how far it can fire you will need swarm launchers and be hiding far away
https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=263468#post263468
Actually the problem is even worse tbh
1. Easier to train into, granted you still need some core skills but you can easily avoid the support skills and any skills that you may need while you are on foot since you wont ever will be tbh, AV tho requires quite a few skills and leaves you totally open while you stand ther rooted to the ground
2. Cost effective - even tho you are in a tank overall its cheaper even if you lose it at the end of the game simply because its can be a OHK machine and you may not lose it for several matches why you kill ppl in milita suits and push the i win button in ambush since ppl on foot have no set spawn and spawning in AV stuff is risky when ther is roaming gangs of MI about, not to mention proto/advanced is expensive and the tank will most likely hit you across the map before you can cause much damage and by the time you may have the tank down you prob lost a fair few expensive fits
3. AV is inferior - AV nades/forge and swarms and that is it, we dont even have AV mines and the proto costs a bit but also requires alot more PG/CPU so chances are you need the advanced suit at least and a few extra mods so right now to fight a tank skill up to a tank it easier and safer for you
4. Because tanks were so good last build and ppl knew it they auto hit tanks again when they saw nothing has changed but even tho the price hike has been implemented it really doesnt stop it when its easier to train into them (point 1) and AV is inferior and more expenisve and SP intensive (point 2/3)
5. Maps and modes - They are randomized but ambush is a i win for any tank driver tbh due to randomness of spawning and skirmish atm is going the way of tanks vs tanks, i was in 1 match and they had 4 tanks at least and AV was useless
So we really need EWAR to be involved for the next build with vamps/neuts/disruptors and a cap for all tanks, also need reloading and a clip for all turrets so they cant spam all the time and for all tanks to carry ammo
EDIT: Make swarm laucher have a high arc and do a top down attack, currently the missile just fly low and hit eveything on the floor |

Proto does not cost 11k, tank will prob OHK you unless your suit is tanked up to the hilt but then again anyone on the ground would occupy you enough |

I'm so glad I didn't focus AV this time around.
How is this game even playable for randoms anymore? This is an ABYSMAL change. If we had friendly fire i would TK every tank that came on the field in protest.

No, then they just see more dollar signs in tanks and make 500 kinds of tank. You take a 1mil SP hit to yourself by boycotting a STUPID game change - that sends a message. |

C'mon, in no way is AV more expensive iskwise than the tank profession. That's coming from a rabid AV fan with not a single SP in vehicles in this build.
my AV fit in a dragonfly scout suit costs 50K, never died 3 times in same match in it , but tbh if I did I wouldn't spawn again in it - I'd switch to a subprime fit and I suspect most AV players would operate in the same vein.
I can't attest for the average lifespan of a tank but I doubt it's over 10 matches - yes, I know the better players will last much longer but fair play to them if that's the case.
So, if I field 3 of my AV fits in 10 matches in a row that would cost 1.5m isk. Not that I would but for the purposes of the post....
A decent tank has got to cost, what, 2mil ish ?
We AV just need to group up in larger numbers - My last match tonight, I partnered with A N Other AV guy - layed down all my advanced SL ammo and advanced AV grenades on a madragar, using up 2 nanohives in the process. Most of my shots hit, I did not die once - He was pretty poor admittidly - Think we got him down to 1/3 armor twice during the match. It's gonna take more manpower now more than ever. |

Now, i dont mean to be rude as i dont know your AV fit, but at 50k each , that isnt really a "good" fit. A good fit, would be using adv DS at least, and a adv/proto swarm & smg, along w/ mods. That is a "good" fit that ud need to compare to a good tank. With that u can assume the same 3 deaths if u want, and that will be costing u close to 250k per game, and if do that 10 games ina row.. yeah being a good AV fit can definitely be WAY more costly then a AV assuming it survives 10 game like in yout example |

Take into account tho that the tank may cost 2mil for 10games using your example but it could easily make 2mil in them 10games and also collect some useful salavage and earn more SP as a consequnce for winning the game and destroying everyone |

That is, true, didnt feel neede to that in depth (though should of), as the tanker is more likely to make his isk back in that time, where the AV is most likely to be quite in debt unless he wins a game or destroys a tank or two or 3 |

Dragonfly Scout suit Basic Shield Extender Milita Armor Plate Biotics Advanced Launcher, 1st one on market Advanced SMG Breach one, used to be minddrive. Advanced AV grenade Militia Nanohive.
I keep the shield extender as opposed to weapon modifier as I treat the AV side of it as situational even though I field one as soon as I see enemy vehicles on the map. I consider that fit fairly good and better than most randoms on the field considering I'm just breaking 4m SP. That advanced dropsuit doesn't look that good these days anyway so I'll not be going that route until we can sell salvage or transfer isk. |

I have been mulling that one over actually, but the plain fact the SMG is out more in a lot of cases than the SL makes picking which modifier a bit of a pickle. Think I've got a little cpu/pg to play with now I had to drop the minddrive but not sure if I have the requirements to fit a complex modifier on just yet. Will definitely check again though |

I cant compare to m6 AV this build as i havent concerned myself with it, as working on core skills ; but i can say what my moderate build was last build, granted may be more $$$ now, but it was (this off top of head so cpu/pg stuff may be off)
Type II assault suit Adv SL Adv breach smg Complex shield extender Com or adv damage mod Nano Mil Armor rep Mil cpu (or plates, idk off hand)
Granted this build now is quite a bit more $$, but it held up again most tanks last build except a high build suryas and sag's |

Either way, i could run that buld right now if i didnt put into AR like i did, i could swap those points to SL for arguments sake, so essentially i could run that same build right now, so my fit stands... even if i were to use an adv scout suit |

Here's what I don't get. Its that people defending tanks assume that their ought be 2 or 3 sageris tanks. In every game. In a high sec payzone. For corp battles, yes, it's different, but for ambush, that's like the US deploying a few M1 Abrams in the Congo. As for nerfing tanks, I really couldnt say, but I do think the first tier Swarm needs a damage increase, I went through 6 of those just to get a gunloggi down to three quarters of its shields, but a lot of the base cost should be lowered for the gunloggis and marauders, IMO. |
