Will be calling in tanks in every ambush I'm in because they are OP and shoulndt be in a simple TDM game. If this upsets you good post about it and request a non tank game mode or somthign inventive. |

HAVs aren't worth the money to buy the hull with how badly they've been nerfed. Soon as you try that in a match with some AV grenade users, you're going to be a smoking wreck in seconds. |

I honestly feel that tanks are fine in ambush on some maps, but the very small tightly packed maps with no supply points or anything probably shouldn't have them.. But then, I just find the maps without supply points to be annoying.
This is as someone who generally carries nanohives in their standard loadout. It's not an ammo problem, it's a flexibility problem. There should be a way to make the needed tactical decision to defeat your enemy without dying. Now, how to handle this i'm not sure, as it seems only having ambush maps with supply points or having ambush maps be vehicle-free are not the best solutions (though I think indoor/small ambush maps that are vehicle free might be fun, but for other reasons).
The best solution would be an other way to change fits, I'm just not sure what a balanced way to do this would be. A deployable similar to the nanohive would be extremely overpowered unless they found a way to balance it, but that seems hard to do. A way to be extracted without dying (similar to what has been suggested for vehicles) might be a solution, but again hard to balance and not all that sensical.
I realize that once installations are in the game then the commander (only the commander in the mcc will be able to deploy installations, yes?) will have the ability to deploy supply points, though at this stage afaik there are no mccs in ambush, so I'm not sure if that will actually matter. If ambush does end up having that option then it could solve it well enough for me.. at a cost, certainly, but who said flexibility comes cheap? If you are fighting using extremely expensive equipment, that flexibility may well be worth it.
In any event, I think the flexibility needs to be there so that adapting doesn't need to mean dying, if you play (and pay) well enough. |

I am not sure what CCP wants to achieve with Ambush maps design. TDM is with FPS games from the beginning and it is usually smallish Close Quarters Combat map focused on infantry. Big open maps with vehicles are designed for Conquest, Conquest Assault mode.
If you want to applaud to CQC fans you design smaller maps like communication and biomass last build - instant action all the time.
Big maps need objectives i.e get to point A and hold it/destroy or protect the VIP that could be fun otherwise is hide and seek. Good map and mode design forces teamwork. Scenario that VIP is protected by tanks and ambushed on the way make sense and gives purpose to fight.

There are going to be people who decided that they want to specialize in tank driving in the main game. Which will probably take months worth of training to get all the skills they want to be effective. We shouldn't bar an entire skillset from certain game modes because you didn't like it.
Instead, beat them by working with your team. |

The only restriction that I'm in favor of is limiting the meta level when we get high/low/null sec stuff. All of our maps appear to be in null sec, so anything goes. Bring it all in if you want. Can't beat them, then join them, or get an AV fit and try to kill them. |

If they enemy has a lot of assault launcher drakes and all you got are frigates then maybe the problem is with your team consistency rather than with the game design.
This is why I think instant action is a bad idea. Things like team consistency and teamwork are supposed to be incredibly important but here it's so chaotic and random that winning and losing might as well be a dice roll. |

Every point I get now will be going on tanks. Might take a while though as I get about a game completed about every hour or more with this constantly freezing and locking up. Oh and of course if my ps3 survives it. |

They're tough to use and expect a lot of frustration and tears along the way.
I specialized in tanks in the last build and it was really difficult to train for. |

It WAS difficult. At least last time I played. I haven't driven a tank this build yet.
The biggest enemy of a tank by far were the Forge Guns. These tiny difficult to spot pixels that could take down nearly all your health in a few shots. Did those get nerfed? |

I only read the first few posts...
One of my best matches I ever had was taking out 2 tanks and tons of jeeps. The other side was just spamming jeeps. AV Grenades are cheap, they are in all my fits. Personally I hope a bigger skill tree is implemented with grenades, would like to see some fleshing out.
When I ride in someones tank I watch the shields, they get eaten up suddenly and I bail out. I trust my Assault suit over someones tank any day.
I've had some matches where my performance was horrible but I got decent points from all the Militia Nanohives I peppered the battlefield with. |

Well finaly came up against a good AV and thats The Dark Cloud . Didnt kill me but I think he could have if his team actualy helped him out at all. Only 6 kills that whole game cos he basicly had me suppressed.
