Before the update everything was too cheap, now everything is too expensive. Is it not possible to find a happy medium somewhere in the middle?
It's like they are trying to make us buy Aurum, and be able to have all the better gear. Not cool CCP, not cool. |

Well, you get more money based upon how much the enemy team spends afaik. More importantly, though, this is making it so that you have to be bankrolled by an EVE corporation to be able to consistently afford the expensive goodies. That means that you have to be an effective Dust corporation to be valuable enough to be bankrolled, which means that people are going to have to work together.
All in all, it's very, very good for the game, and for the interaction between the two games, that things are getting more expensive. |

Yes it does, actually. The markets will be shared, and the games will have the same currency. |

It's great as is.
You have to budget and save because everyone is fighting in militia gear. As someone mentioned, the cash you get seems partially dependent on the isk value of damage you cause. So if you fight poorly geared opponents you wont earn as much as if you fight proto geared peeps
Once they get the tier battle restrictions (militia & basic gear, basic & adv gear, etc) working then you will be able to decide how profitable and difficult the fight could be
It isa potentially elegant and powerful system if they can get it working. |

I feel its fine for now. It does seem difficult though when you're a Log Dog trying to heal vehicles and other players, then you die with a nice loadout with little reward except the team mates you rep'd and revived continue to fight on, not losing their loadout and saving money.
Corps and teams are going to have to start working out cost with each other. If I die while saving you in a proto suit, or repair your tank right before it blows up so you can run away, risking my ass or getting killed, I sure as hell better be getting paid. Also having a loggy on your team can save 100's of thousands even millions of isk if done right. Reviving and repping is going to be a key strategy if corps and teams don't want to go broke.
If you don't have the money, it's time to go to militia gear, or make friends with a loggy.

I like it, it forces experienced players to use basic equipment from time to time, that way new players can join and get to enjoy the game and the player pool doesn't dry up, although I do think the basic suits have been made a bit to expensive |

i like how the gear is expensive. It wouldnt hurt to lower the prices a little tho. ot too much. Also the skill book prices need to be a litle cheaper i think. I just spent 1.5 mil on 3 books. Now i dont have $$$ to buy new gear. |

It's fine as is. You don't expect to start off in EVE and fly around in brand new shiny ships straight at the start with no corp do you?
Anyways I still manage to roll in T-2 Heavy armor with HMG and the like fine. Just don't be stupid and don't die. |

I like it how it is. I have a selection of militia and/or cheap loadouts to use as each situation warrants, but some expensive (effective) gear for certain maps/game types/situations.
I'm almost never broke, but I'm not rolling in ISK either. |

Although the prices do need some tweaking, I think they're on the right track. Last build, everyone turned into protoman and any newcomers were just so much cannon fodder. This system allows skill gain while slowing equipment gain, resulting in a more level playing field for newcomers while allowing vets to have their crazy gear every now and then. After all, the idea behind the proto-gear is to have something that you break out every now and then when the stakes are high. |

My only problem with this is that without enough money we can't properly beta test this game, since there will be vehicles and upgrade we won't be able to use much, so these will go untested. Other than that, it's a beta, and it's all a wash anyway come next wipe. |

I'm loving the pace of this build.
Death has meaning, decisions have to be made carefully with respect to skill path and loadout, and you can see it reflected in peeps behavior on the battlefield.
Once the market opens up we might actually be making too much ISK when you factor in the salvage - but it will be a while before we find out. |

As someone who ran around in militia / cheap-o gear during last couple builds I can just say I'm loving this.
Which is why I practiced like that, cause you need that skill when fighting after launch. |

Yes, death has more meaning right now. Though, we are all so broke that we have to stick to Militia Gear for a lot of things. As we all know, Militia Gear has some heavy requirements. I am finding it very hard to set up the builds I want, and experiment with them.
Customization is extremely limited to only a gun, grenade, secondary, and less than a few other things for me right now. Not being able to customize things how I want it is not fun.
Quality vehicles are also very non-affordable. I have been missing the precence of a more vehicle populated battlefield lately.
@About my thread title. It used to be "Everything is too f#cking expensive". It looks like some mod edited out the "f#cking" and changed the "too" to "to", which is actually gramatically incorrect. I find this funny. |

Try this.
Spawned in my 0.5 mil isk tank for the first time, ow hell yea. Right jump in it ,man this feels awsome hmmm let me do a quick map check so I dont drive my shiny into a railgun turret or somthing. Tank then falls thu the floor and skydives too its doom.
/ Very sad panda
Never ever ever check the map as a tank driver because you take collision dmg the whole time and somtimes fall thu the floor.
Note to self: Get a scrub gunner to mapcheck in future. |
