I was a Playstation Plus subscriber well before the mercenary pack was put in the store for 20. Now they are putting a 50% discount on it, I feel cheated now because of it. Have they said anything about reimbursing this to people who have spent the full price on it?

Buy it for the ten bucks. You will have two 30 day boosters. 8,000 Aur, and you can sell the extra dropsuit/smg for a shitload of isk/aur. It won't hurt you in the long run. It is a good deal! |

Just think of the bonus you've had in beta too though! LOL
No but seriously, you bought it to get in the beta, or to support the beta, either way your getting your moneys worth. If you bought it to get a head in the BETA then lol |

Let's say I am part of a club for a shooting range. It gives me discounts on range prices. They sell ammo and guns as well. I buy a gun and love it very much. Now let's say they start to give discounts to people in the club for that gun. I'll feel cheated, but it's perfectly lawful. |

Except you forget now that consumer confidence will be crushed, I know now I'll refuse to buy anything from CCP, if several others do the same CCP will have to ***** out and lower the price because everyone won't buy anything expecting a price drop.
It happened to the 3DS. They had to cut the price because people wouldn't buy it. It was a slap to the consumer, so to apologize they gave them free games.
But now the vita releases and the first thing out of the majorities mouth is "I'm not getting it until the price drop" people expect now that if they refuse to buy a product, it will force the price down and they'll buy it then.
Same principle here. If we refuse to buy any more packs from CCP they will have to lower the price.
Aka with this move it shows that CCP has lost consumer confidence and is trying to get it back.
In short. They sold crap for merc packs so they are screwing over those who JUST bought it to try and get new people to buy it. |

This.
There's nothing in the PSN or Plus agreement that states they price match if you buy something and it later becomes discounted. It's life, learn to deal with it.
On a side note, think of it as the price has been reduced because those that buy it now haven't had the PRIVILEGE to play in the beta as long as you have.

It's called a sale. It's not uncommon at all to buy something and then see it massively drop in price a month or two after it comes out! As for being 'Undelivered' this cannot be said at all unless you have not recieved or used any of the merc pack aurum or items. It doesn't matter if it'll be reimbursed later. You've gotten and used your product that you paid for.
Pretty much no company out there will listen to people who come back and complain that something they bought ages ago just went on sale. Some companies do offer a 7 day "Price change promise" or so that if the price drops they'll refund you the difference... but I highly doubt PSN will offer such a deal. Either way, It's a sale. A sale for 10$. If you honestly care that much about 10$..... I don't even know. You bought your stuff, you're here. You're testing a game that could be the start of something truly amazing. What's there to complain about? I would've paid 40$ for the merc pack. |

See here's the problem. CCP can have no sales for Dust and still make thousands of dollars in profit for their company. They have EVE for income. |

You do realize I am a customer that already invested in AUR and PS+ and had full beta access? The pack is for items delivered at launch. Getting versions of them during beta doesn't constitute delivery since they are still subject to change dramatically. It's not that I'm going to get outraged, but I'm not going to ignore the fact that I paid a different price for an identical SKU based on time of purchase before delivery, and got nothing additional out of it. |

Or they'll quit supporting the game since no one would be supporting it. Remember CCP is a company looking to make a profit. If you enjoy what they produce (Eve and Dust) then pay, if you don't, then don't play. Simple economics.

The better comparison is if they took preorders on premium, and then a week before they gave it to you they dropped the price, but early adopters were price locked anyway. It's a digital item, there is no consumer benefit to ordering earlier, so it is very backwards to overcharge that group. |

@ Noc : I am not offended. I am perplexed!
If you buy something early you are -always- going to pay more than later down the road. It makes no sense to be upset about it. I'm astounded at the self-entitled posts here from several people who I thought were pretty logical people and above such things. You paid for something, you got what you paid for. It then went on sale later on. It's that simple. There is no great injustice here. There is no problem. I spent just as much money on this as you did, if not more... and I am not upset. I have also bought several individual aurum packs in addition to the merc pack. I also subscribed to PS+ since last december ever since the initial survey for Dust514 came out. Was I 'Cheated' because CCP mentioned PS+ and then I was subscribed for two months before I ever got a key? Not really.

It's not really anything to do with the price.
It's about showing a little bit of respect and thanks to your most dedicated followers.
And the difference between this getting a sale so insanely early compared to most games is that retailers decide sales for games, retailers that almost ALL have a price garuntee so you can get your money back if an item goes on sale. Since this was a choice by the developer to lower the price for a sale, it's a lot more personal.
It also is as noc says. The item we purchased has no value until the game launches, so until the game launches, it is considered a pre-order, which means in the case of a price changed, it should be for everyone who had pre-ordered the goods, which hold no value until release.
But really mostly about forgoing your dedicated following in order to make more money in a short time.
Of course we will always have the fanboys (most of the time blind fanboys) that say "well I would pay 5x the amount for this!" which is a load of crap. |

What you don't understand is that the Plus members are getting access for FREE, and the normally $19.99 priced pack has dropped because now the most important part of the pack, the access pass, has been removed, they are JUST getting the AUR, and the few in-game items. |

You are oversimplifying. It is a sale on a preorder of a digital (read not supply limited) item that hasn't launched yet. I am not saying I am entitled to my money back. I am just saying it is not as clear cut to not demand investigation into the matter. |

I remember alot of members were pretty blunt on a subject similar to this.
Remember when 4,000 aur cost twenty bucks? Right after the Merc Bundle came for 20 bucks with the 4,000 aur+goodies.
The people who bought the 4,000 aur felt cheated. The lot of you were like too bad so sad, especially the merc pack buyers. Saying buyers remorse etc.

Most companies have 30 day policy about items going on sale. I for one am not angry, as this happens all the time for PS+ users. You get free games and discounts all the time on games you could of paid full price earlier.

Tough luck, buyers beware. If you preordered that same game for $60, and the guy who walked in the store release night got it for $20, would you feel that is "just business"?
I can say this with a straight face and a clear mind.

Hmm, this interesting, i did end up buy both a PS+ membership and the merc pack as well. I don't really feel cheated by the price drop, though if they gave us a refund i would love CCP even more :P |

I'm a ps+ member who also bought the merc pack, do I feel cheated, no. For me it payed for itself after a few hours of playing the beta for the first time.
I could've went for a pub lunch or went to the cinema for around the same price of the pack would I of felt cheated, no.
Will they offer a refund? Who knows, but whoever the decision falls down to you can keep mine, get yourself a pint on me. Cheers |

Saying it's a pre-order is just wrong, you've paid for digital items and you've taken delivery of those items when you assigned them to a character, it's a simple contract of sale. The fact they are for use in a game that hasn't been released yet is irrelevant, you've received your purchase and used it, maybe CCP or Sony could buy your 'used' merc pack for a fiver and sell you a nice new one for a tenner, would you be happy with that ? |
