Let's say I am part of a club for a shooting range. It gives me discounts on range prices. They sell ammo and guns as well. I buy a gun and love it very much. Now let's say they start to give discounts to people in the club for that gun. I'll feel cheated, but it's perfectly lawful. |

It happened to the 3DS. They had to cut the price because people wouldn't buy it. It was a slap to the consumer, so to apologize they gave them free games.
But now the vita releases and the first thing out of the majorities mouth is "I'm not getting it until the price drop" people expect now that if they refuse to buy a product, it will force the price down and they'll buy it then.
Same principle here. If we refuse to buy any more packs from CCP they will have to lower the price.
Aka with this move it shows that CCP has lost consumer confidence and is trying to get it back.
In short. They sold crap for merc packs so they are screwing over those who JUST bought it to try and get new people to buy it.
See here's the problem. CCP can have no sales for Dust and still make thousands of dollars in profit for their company. They have EVE for income. |

You do realize I am a customer that already invested in AUR and PS+ and had full beta access. The pack is for items delivered at launch. Getting versions of them during beta doesn't constitute delivery since they are still subject to change dramatically. It's not that I'm going to get outraged, but I'm not going to ignore the fact that I paid a different price for an identical SKU based on time of purchase before delivery, and got nothing additional out of it.
That's how the market acts. Anyone can change their price at any time. You also still have what you paid for at that time. |
