what people dont seem to realize is that being an AV is a ROLE.....
you cant just swap to an AV fit and do some quick damage control to get back into your AR ways, it just doesnt work that way. you have to stay AV and take care of your ****. Stop the vehicles from coming into play in the first place. If you wait until the tank is staring you in the face to go, "Oh, ima go switch to my swarms!" then your doing it wrong and in the time it takes you to get your fitting swapped the vehicles are gonna do work.
AV guys need to actually play their role and be on the lookout for vehicles. Some people might find out they can actually handle vehicles better, although some people might be offended that i told them to not use an AR.

I put some of the blame for this is the current build's lack of good communication and Corporation fuctionality; after groups start forming and roles start to become defined I think that soild Anti-Amour will become a better focus. Maybe even varients such as Anti-Air (for dropships and taking out the delivery ships for LAV/HAV), heavy anti-armour for shielded up and high HP HAVs, and even lighter anti-armour roles for taking out multiple LAVs or weaker HAVs quickly. It is going to be a matter of team work, time training, and demand for such roles in order to make them a true reality. |

thts why grouping is absolutly vital in a game like this. Once grouping is allowed and ppl get certian jobs tanks will go bye bye real quick. :) |

Is it just me or do you seem to get more money for killing the Delivery Ships? Delivery Ships being the ships that come in and drop the tanks, and dropships. I know they are worth 75 points everytime I blow one up..plus it damages or destroys whatever it's dropping. But I seem to make way more money when doing that than I do killing troops, other vehicles, or installations. |

thats because you are not just damaging the vehicles they drop, but the RDV too. naturally you get more monies. |

Those ships are not good for sp. There value is very slim compared to let's say proto gear and dropsuits which is worth more giving you more sp. The numbers tht pop up is the bare minimum you get plus the amount of gear u just killed. For example i got 50000 from destroing a extremely powerful suyra but in another game i got only 30000 sp for blowing up many crappy suyras plus alot of milita gear.

My SP varies alot from game to game, so I haven't even tried to figure out how to get alot of SP each match, although I can't complain with what I usually get..
But the ISK right now is big to me since Im in a tank...I won't be next week most likely, but atm I am. And Ive just seemed to be making way more money killing the RDVs than anything else. But that's purely an ISK basis |

The game works fine without communication or new features. It just needs more people sitting around waiting for a vehicle to show up so they can kill it.
The Swarm Launcher / SMG is a killer setup for people wanting to run and gun but be ready to blow up tanks when they arrive.
Vehicles show up EVERY GAME.
If 1/3 the players showed up with a Swarm Launcher or Forge gun, and knew how to use it, people would not have any issue with tanks at all.
The big issue with playing AV is you don't show up on kill boards since people typically bail before the ship explodes. But if you are a team player, this is a role for you. It's actually really fun to hunt the big game. |

A key tactic in playing AV is to stay out of common areas where Assault guys are. They're your enemy. You need to stay alive to be able to kill vehicles.
Think like a sniper or artillery, providing overwatch support. The towers are perfect spots now, but this map makes those towers really strong.
Make a build for when you have a safe-ish camping spot, and a build for when you have to run around and stay alive on the ground.
I prefer scout suits for mobility, the type A being for when I run and cap stuff, the type II when I camp and have both an uplink and nanohives.
Hopefully this helps some of you guys.
And if you see my dropship in the air, remember this friendly post and fire at one of my teammates instead. ;) |

It's probably because you hit hard and then they flee, and you're slow. You deny them an area they wanted to be in, which is a partial win.
It often takes me 3 clips of Proto swarm launcher missiles to kill a Sagaris, but I have a nanohive. If they run, and you're out of ammo and can't easily chase, that's a problem. But you guys are way stronger than Swarm Launchers are.
I'm sure there are some FG AV guys who can talk about that as well.
Btw, I see heavy guys kinda like turrets. Stick you on a nanohive provided by a teammate, and you should be able to do massive area denial of any vehicle in range. You're not built for chasing though.
Scouts with Swarm Launchers are your counterpart, better on the run, able to provide their own ammo, but take a lot longer to kill, and are fragile in an extended fight. |

dude, your showing yourself to be an immature poster here....here's a few thoughts based on my own, very successful AV efforts.
#1 - dont waste time shooting at a tank that is repping. #2 - you are fighting a tank that has three people. Common sense dictates you should need more than yourself. #3 - Im sorry, but after doing this myself from day one, if your taking more than 4-5 shots to down a marauder, your doing it wrong. somehow. #4 - catch tanks in choke points. #5 - use proto ASSAULT forge guns.
because i cant think of any reason your so unsuccessful with that fitting if you have adequate teamwork and strategy other than this, ill throw this in there......

AV heavy move speed 3.5 m/sec versus tanks move speed of 25 m/sec? Secondary problem is that tanks can just go hide under the two buildings near C point.
Next build my AV fit is going to be either forge or scout/swarms with AV grenades that are magnetic.
I predict more tanks being killed by me on a new map. |

im not a heavy im actually explosives scout but i gotten a few good tank kills with my build. and your right i seem to find tank hunting easier than killing ppl with a gun.

my fav way to take out a tank is get up closeand chuck all 3 AV grenades at him, this is enough to kill most tanks, but if they are a tier 2 tank by this point they are saying **** where did my HP go, i better GTFO and then a couple shots of a proto forge is usually to make them go boom |

Here is how to kill tanks.
Sagaris: Use a Forge Gun Surya: Use a Swarm Launcher
Shield vehicles are weaker against forge guns and armor vehicles are weaker against swarms.
Source: Me I switch to a prototype Forgegun or Prototype Swarm launcher when people bring out their marauders or a good dropship. |
