Just out of interest, who here has paid anything for the game so far???
As a merc pack user (the only way i could get into beta) ive already paid a bit, and with all things being well i imagine i'll pay enough to keep a skill booster at all times, not so sure about for weapons etc tho---- have many of you that got free passes bought anything?? And do you intent to spend much when it finally goes live?? If there's no pay to win then thats fine, is anyone intending on running this to its purest meaning?? (personally i see micro-transactions as the way of gaming for the future, so time we changed our way of thinking to get used to it all) |

eg??? Sorry i'm just interested....... I take it, that as most of you play EVE, then you're already in a subscription model?? How much difference does it make there if you pay extra (or can you do this in the first place??)

I haven't spent anything and don't intend to until release or very close to it. Personally i think the idea that we can spend our money in a beta is a little silly, but if people are willing to do so then good for CCP. However IMO if they wanted to test AUR items then then they should have given us all a set amount upon creation. I know some people will say "but you get anything you spend back before release", but my issue is simply that even though i like the game now that could change by release. |

I would like to see ALL items be brought into the game before I put more money into this game.. As it stands right now this game is sorta play to win... Let me rephrase that: Play to win (for the first little bit)
Of course I'm referring to the skill boosters and the devs were right, there is weapons and armor of equivalent value that you can buy with isk except you can use the AUR ones sooner... But hey, nothing wrong with buying s skill booster for the first little bit ~ I'll be using most of the AUR i got with the merc pack on that. |

tbh I'm not paying for a 4 day beta. If they could confirm everything from closed beta transfers to a live account when thegame goes live, I'd probably dunk a few bucks into the merc bundle thing.
That said tho, when it goes live, I have no qualms throwing some money in if its a good game. I cant say nothin atm cuz I cant game on a controller, but when keyboard/mouse support comes in I'd be on it more. |

allready did with the merc pack. I probs use the 4.000 AUR to get myself better gear at the beginning of the official release. So i have a better time getting SP. The 30 day skillbooster is also nice. |

I have a"support this awesome game" mentality.
I'm going to spend what I would if I was playing a month subscription. -ú13.99 on aurum a month. (or any deals they might have) of that 4000 Aurum I'll buy a 30 day booster (keeps my next purchase timing right) and the rest of the aurum to support isk loss etc. |

I've already got 8000 AUR ready. I'm only going to be using it on augmentations. I'll then buy 2500 a month for equipment. |

Not buying any AUR until the game comes out. Skill boosters are the only thing I'd spend on, and vanity stuff. Disco Dropsuit is the best drop suit. Not paying for something in a beta if I probably won't play the full game. |

I already did with the merc pack and I'm not sure yet if I'll be spending more to it so far I like the game, but will wait to see if all the flaws get fixed which appear to be on the way bit by bit, if I do spend money on it it would be for the sp booster and as @Tony Calif said on vanity stuff. |

I'm not spending a dime on this game. Why should I, I mean, it's not pay to win, and the way this economy will work the AUR users may not be able to grind for a huge ISK weapon so we trade and then i get AUR guns. |

I bought boosters and when they come out skill spikes and clusters so I can get to my specalizations quickly and help foot the bill for the corp voice channel.
Also one of each suit.
I plan on going 10$ month subscription. |

Since they have a variant of AUR items for nearly every category, I am anticipating the installations, platforms, resistances, etc. Allthe things they haven't come out with that are going to be there! Hell, I know I'm going to end up sinking some money into it. You have to think about the long run. When the game releases. There are going to be SO many new items and things to experience, most of us will sink at least a little cash in it. |

I bought mercs pack to get into Beta and I found that it is more like Alpha, dissapointed a bit because what they shown on E3 is waaaaay of what is actualy in the game.
Why would you pay 20 quid a month? that's half of a new game, and if you buy 2nd hand you can get new game every month. It would have to be realy good if I were to pay anything for it.
Maybe I would consider that if it was closer to MMORPGFPS, that would be cool and unique. Like you would have quests just like in WoW or Lineage 2 to get materials, stuff, or weapons and common places to chat with the whole of population.
So far Dust is nothing more than other shooters, who cares if it is connected to EvE, if I don't play EvE its just points I get anyway. |

Well new patch comming out maybe then it will be worth it. Also merc pack gets refunded every reset so all the items you have will be back on the character after this upcomming wipe. |

Paid for a Merc Pack having already got free access through one of my Eve accounts, I believe in supporting good work and CCP do good work. If my -ú15 can help this game move forward just a bit closer to release then it's money well spent.
As for what I'll spend AUR on, then mostly skill boosters n spikes etc. and some early equipment to grow a bit quicker, much the same as everyone else I suspect.
Someone said isk would be transferable but not AUR, so far as I know you can't transfer anything from Eve to DUST, or the other way presumably, the isk flow is ment to be Eve corporations paying contracts to DUST mercs to battle for control of planets, the isk they pay will be what is split between the mercs at the end of the battle in the same way you're getting paid / contracted by NPC corps at the moment. So character to character transfers as they are in Eve wouldn't be possible. |

I feel like having weapons available for real money isn't that fair... I mean that's giving people that're willing to spend more money a huge edge, giving them the capability to buy superior weapons to those that might just play every now and then. If what is available for AUR is available for ISK then that's completely fine. But restricting parts of the game and giving advantages to those with more money and dedication to playing the game isn't very fair. Just my thoughts. So no, I won't be paying for anything (I received access to beta through a friend who plays EVE, never played myself). |

Absolutely no money given to CCP aside from an EVE online account for a bit to see what EVE was about. I've learned my lesson many of times from getting pysched about a beta and giving developers the benefit of the doubt. I have yet to see a part of this game that merits me putting so much faith in the end product that I am willing to donate money to their cause.
On the other hand, if I start seeing improvements that make this a viable game that will allow me and my clan to play together and have fun for months and years. I would probably put up the $60 a month into this game. At this point in time, I will not do that. |

I got the merc pack even though I already had an all access pass, and I think the boosters are worth the aurum, and I like the dragonfly suit since I am either in a vehicle or AV sniping somewhere. I bought a couple items just to see how they are since there are still some Aur items that you can't buy through isk, but I don't intend on regularly including Aur items for my high use configs.
Shiny colored dropsuits are cool for some but at this point there isn't anything I'd feel is worth spending money on.
If I could get a sweet skin for my dropship or something, I might consider that for fun on my top tier fits, kinda like the WW2 bombers had pics or flames on the side, etc. |

Me too, I bought it because Im going to buy aurum anyway and the 4000 aur came with extra stuff. The merc pack was a bargain tbh, and I like collectable items.
Thats dragonfly suit will sell for millions to eve players.(they can't use it but they sure do love to collect stuff). |

Just fyi, in case you're new to EVE, the current US$ to EVE Isk rate is about 350 million (give or take) to $18 ($35 for 2 Plex)
1 million in EVE isn't very much.
When you talk about billions, you're getting in to money that will make dents in people's accounts, Trillions for big corps. :)
But for sure if you're a scout on the cheap, the dragonfly will save you millions. I'm sure it has for me. |

I'd shell out for the right vanity items. I don't think I will buy skill boosters or items with an advantage over ISK-gear since that'd feel like cheating, but I'd love some (preferably silly) vanity stuff. E.g. I want to have a big fat yellow smiley sticker on the front of my helmet.
I'd probably also use AUR-gear that is worse than standard stuff. Just to annoy people when I kill them anyway. |
