Been playing the game now for two months, and recently, I'm just getting utterly and totally owned all the time. Now I aint a bad player, but toe to toe with many people I just get wasted before I even have a chance to react.
Last game 0K 14D.... that was the worst game I have ever played.
Started a new game, same thing happening, and I rage quitted.
I have been working my way up on SP, but now it seems most players now have the top end gear, I'm still running around in Type I suits with standard weaponry and my K/D ratio is going down faster than I can keep up with it.
I am really struggling to keep going with this game now. Need to turn it around. |

You need to start working on a new playstyle, if your old one isn't working for you.
I've got basic type-II gear dropsuits, advanced AR and a proto SL. All the rest is either militia BPO's or basic equipment.
My last game was the first one in a while that I went negative on my kdr. I usually go break even, even in my bad games. Best game I've had was 19/2, as an infantryman.
You just need to work out what works for you, and not to try the same old stuff. |

I'm sure you've got enough SP and isk to use ATLEAST adv level stuff. Most players are using that or proto level gear now, so tbh, unless you're considerably more skilled than them, you'll need to start using something more than militia armor/weapons. |

The main problem I'm having is I am level 3 on most things now.
I dont get a lot of time to play, maybe 8/9 games a week.
Now I get into a game and unless I have a really good one (had a great one earlier got 14/3) then I get 100k SP, but most games now I only get about 30-40k because I keep getting shot to pieces, it means that I have been grinding and grinding and grinding to build up SP, but to unlock the higher level kit, I need to play 4-5 games before I can get at it and its taking FOREVER. |

Ok, there's no reason you can't get AT LEAST 50k SP in most matches. (and 100k SP a little more often) Don't just focus on throwing yourself into gunfights. (especially if you're going 0-14) Hack CRUs, hack Turrets, cap objectives, throw down nanohives for teammates, etc. All these will help. If you focus more on doing this, then you'll prob boost ur SP by at least 10k. |

Level 5 and above in just a few skills will up your k/d ratio but I do pretty good in militia you just cant expect to rambo him down; thats only if your gear is better. The top tier weapons are much easier to use then their militia cousins, a proto forge can kill, a militia forge will only kill on dead on hits and then cant be in a heavy suit. |

One thing I've found to help out if you don't have time to play and people are using high-level equipment and you are not is to hop in a decent tank.
Get some kills while safely tucked away and you should be getting a lot more sp and dying a lot less per game.

Yes yes yes yes yes yes. And also, yes.
I don't think people realize that stuff like CRU hacking, turret hacking, etc factors into your SP/ISK totals at the end of the match. |

Perhaps it's time for you to change tactics. Like others said, try hacking, assisting, etc.
Maybe being a sniper that is well hidden would help you. You might not get many kills considering how hard it is right now to be a skilled sniper, but at least you won't get shot to pieces so often. The hard part is finding a decent sniping spot that hasn't already been known by everyone else. |

I think what the problem here is that he's spread his SP out over a lot of different things instead of specializing, which I think will be an unavoidable problem for most new players. Specialization in a game where you can't respec is very important, and unfortunately people will learn the hard way that those who specialize will consistently mop the floor with those who don't. Thats why I'm interested to see where the OP spent his SP. |

Dude DO NOT I repeat DO NOT spread your points out, SPECIALIZE. For that matter specialize in something you're good at, not everyone is a great AR specialist. With a prototype assault suit with lvl 5 mechanics and lvl 5 shield management, 3 complex shield extenders my HP is 683. With lvl 5 AR proficiency and weaponry 5 the creodron will do Just over 500 DPS and the duvolle will do just over 600 DPS and thats with NO damage mods. The trick is to pick a skill and max it out not to just spread your points around, If you're not great with an AR try something else out, SMG, Shotgun, Mass Driver, Sniper, AV, Vehicles, Logistics. This game is a world of possibilities. |

Will say thou, in attacking missions I like to drop in behind enemy lines using a milita dropship, hack a target and get the hell out of there while leaving a nice surprise for anyone that doesn't spot the remote charge left behind.
In defending, I generally use heavy suits and try to take out vehicles.
I generally end up switching between a generic scout capture suit, and all purpose assault suit and a heavy suit with a forge gun. |

DUST will connect to the same supercomputing cluster as EVE uses. There won't be servers. One of the best and most interesting thing about EVE is that everyone is in the same world on the same "server". |

Holy crap, I can't imagine grinding out 9 mil+ SP on standard suits alone. And that is some extreme skill spreading you've done to yourself.
Invest into assault suits 2 and get yourself that type II dropsuit ASAP.
Then invest into smg's as you already have all sidearms to 4. You should see an immediate improvement to your killing and survivability. |

Not so hard actually, and I was going to suggest this. I have found that the Charge sniper rifle can be one of the deadliest weapons in the game once you learn how to use it. On defending rounds I usually post out on a tower and defend Objective B while also sniping out anyone trying to take over any blasters/missile launchers, it also gives me access to the closest enemy spawn and all the area that they have to traverse to even get a chance to hack any of our objectives, I usually get 10-20 kills with 0-2 deaths and 50k-100k sp. For the isk and sp I would suggest making yourself a scout suit with remote explosive shotgun and SMG so you can get in and hack while planting RE's to keep your territory. This is mainly for attacking battles but can also be used when your team can't keep control of the territory and you need to infiltrate. |

I suggest either prototype Assault Rifle or prototype Swarm Launcher if you want to kill vehicles. If you're a seasoned FPS on console, I'd suggest the AR. Do this first.
Then focus on getting the complex shields or armor plating, depending on what dropsuit you use. I'm scout focused so fwiw.
I'd then focus on at least the advanced dropsuit (the tier below prototype, whatever it's name is, I forget) That should hold all the items you can use.
This can help you a lot.
I'm basically maxed in vehicle skills, but play Anti-Vehicle with the swarm launcher a lot, and just run around in the Merc pack Dragonfly suit which is pretty horrible.. I just avoid areas of high enemy infantry and AV snipe.
If you are new to console, you may want to wait for keyboard + mouse in the next update, or spend some time tweaking your controller. Sensitivity adjustment affects a lot, and there are things that you can put on the analog sticks that extend them, giving you finer control, allowing minute angle adjustments. I use the FPS Freeq SNIPR ones and the CQB ones are nice too, but more subtle.
Hope this helps. |

Wow, your skill points are all spread out. Handheld weapon is basically useless. Electronics for what? Grenade upgrades are useless right now because some of the grenades aren't exploding. Also the grenade throw needs tweaking. Your dropsuits are weak.

i've never used an adv. or proto suit tbh. I thought of them as not worth it. I have 9m+ SP, and i'm still running militia suits. However, Proto Tactical Duvolle and the Toxic SMG... goes a long way. Right now, working on tank skills, I've almost maxed rifle and working on forge, and pretty much a ton of other buffer skills... and never bothered to use anything past a militia suit. Meh, I doubt I need it. Saves me money for the tanks I'm going to test. |
