Are the two new maps and the mill sp/isk a fantasy or is there a legitimate reason for nothing new this beta weekend?

The two maps are in Sony's QA hands right now, not with CCP, blame sony if you're going to blame anyone.
Also the Million Sp/ISK is for when they reset our avatars, either next week or the week after. Most likely since Eve is updating soon (next week), we assume we might get an update as well.
Its beta, its not a game yet. Sorry you're not having fun. |

Well most if not all the beta testers have left because we are waiting on a new build to do new testing. Almost everything in this build has been found, posted and hopefully fixed. If thats the case, then most of the real testers can take some time off to play other things.

Demanding a source on this, how about the email you got that stated the 1 mill SP/ISK, that stated if you actually read it, that you would be given those when the NEXT BUILD came out, go back and read it.
As for Sony QA, I worked for SOE, for other games. I know how long it takes 5 guys to test something to get SOE's ok before CCP can use them.

My question is this...
Sony and CCP touted that the restrictions on PSN updates for DUST were dramatically lowered to allow beta testing to occur at a normal pace, undelayed by Sony QA.
What happened to that? Don't tell me its for release, because that would be just garbage. We need to be able to update daily if needed, why is it taking 2 months to get an update? The beta is stagnating right now. All we can do is argue about the grand vision of whether this is supposed to be a twitch strafe shooter or a slow tactical game.. Or whether dropships should be allowed to fall on your head and kill you...
I dunno. Any other beta I played had weekly updates at least, outside of console that is. If Sony/CCP are aiming to allow PC style beta updates, they are not exactly doing it. |

Im sure more people will get back on when anything new is put on thats a given. My point was we were stated to receive and TEST these things and with no word from CCP nothing they said would happen happened. Its not "bratty' as you put it to ask fro information especially in a testing scenario, like this, when new "stuff" top be tested doesn't arrive. If my boss told me that the additions to proposal will come Thursday from Rick and it doesn't show. You bet your ass Im banging down my bosses and Ricks door to know why. From this post Quote:Because of how console development works they are not able to update as often, though Sony has given them a lot of flexibility, the release process is still slower than the PC. . I don't know if this applies to beta, but I'm assuming it does. Also the August update could be rather big, requiring more time. |

I'm just glad you guys never got to test the last build. While the skirmish map was very fun, that build was used forever and would hard freeze after 3 or so games. Had to turn off/on the PS3 and then reload game, plus many more other numerous issues.
In other words, this build is much better and we are getting a new build in a week (probably). You guys have it easy.
Agree on the beta map content, but then again, we are supposed to TEST the core game, not a multitude of maps.

we are supposed to test the core of the game you say? well in my opinion and many others im sure, the maps of an FPS game are just as important as the actual gameplay. now before you misunderstand i do agree completely with what you say Cyn Bruin. They should look at more than just how the controls feel, hit detection ETC. because you will playing on the maps just as much as you will be shooting at someone. i know ther only cosmetic depending on how they make the lightning storms and other climate changes work but if the maps are bad the game wont make it as an FPS OR an MMO ther has to be a good balance between the 2 if it wants to suceed.
but they are doing a great job so far and i cant wait to test more when they decide to give it to us. calm down fellas we will get ther not like they can hide it from us forever. |

Stock fanboy response. It isn't unreadonable to expect a new item every week on PC. I am not askin for a giant build every week, just SOMETHING new to test.
IMO, if that can't happen, then the PSN restrictions "victory" was more for media coverage than for its actual value. |

I just want them to keep their word and if they dont please explain why. I understand setbacks but a simple PSN is working with it or we realized you would abuse it would be fine. |

From what I've gathered in the IRC Dev chat, its a 6 week cycle. 4 Weeks of Development, 1 Week of CCP QA, 1 week of Sony QA.
I love how everyone here seems to think they're an expert in the testing and QA protocol of Sony, and insists that this isn't faster than normal. Aside from the guy who actually worked at SOE, good work everyone, keep up you uniformed complaining! |

I understand they might be rushing it or getting ahead of themselves if that's the case then explain why such a delay is occurring. My issue isnt with the time frame, they can use the Blizzard model for all I care, but dont ask people to be on at a certain time, (which is the time most people work BTW) and not follow through. Its just bad marketing to the people who want to like your product; you can be ok with it but some serious word would be exchanged if I made a promise and I didnt follow through to my companies customers even in testing. |

Ummm... Not saying this isn't faster then normal, it just isn't fast enough. But thats my opinion.
I always thought having a steady trickle of new content is better than giant releases, because everything is gradually added, and easier to balance than a giant injection of new stuff to try to balance with everything else at once. Thats what MAG did; changed a bunch of values at once, and then tried to figure out why it wasn't working, rather than individual buffs/ nerfs, or individual new items. |

EVE gets 2 big packs of content every year, so once every 6 months. A 6 week cycle is exceptionally fast.
You can complain about the lack of speed when it comes to new content coming out, but consider this. Right now we get 4 weeks of development ever 6 weeks. If say they wanted to release a patch with 1 week of development, it would still take the one week of CCP testing and one week of Sony testing, meaning you would only get 1 week of development every 3 weeks. That's half as much content per week as the current development cycle. Sorry, but I'd rather be patient, wait a bit longer, and get more. |

Mostly I am just QQing against the need to have Sony QA it, I would rather that only CCP QA'd it and then pushed it out, but thats living in a perfect world I suppose.
