From what I've seen and noticed, text chat during battles is completely useless. It's unidentifiable, has no onscreen alerts, and is a hassle to pull up just to see if anyone has typed something. Thats why I think we should have a more efficient system, kind of like BF3 on PC, with a chat window in the top left of the screen. This would allow for a quick glance to scan the chat and make it much easier. Also, chat could be improved with a faster onscreen, slightly see through keyboard when you press Select, which would make commands easier. This is just for all the non mic users out there. Thoughts, ideas? |

Its a good idea, but it would leave you prone to enemy attack even if you have predefined comments due to the way the PS3 typing interface works, not to mention it could be limited in detail. I think everyone needs mics', but when the corps are formed we will need specific orders and threat priorities to be discussed so we can work as a cohesive team and not clutter the coms with useless info. |

To those who say use the mic and get on comms. what about those who are deaf and hard of hearing? There are quite a few that play eve and I am aware of at least one all deaf corp.

+1 Agreed, just have team or squad chat on screen, like pretty much any other game. |

Did you read my post? Or did you feel fit to see it as comms or nothing at all. I did state possible limitations to both. |

The system was designed around voice so you can concentrate on combat. And trust me, there are a lot of people that need all the concentration they can get. |

Sgt Slab I wasnt referring to your post it was englishsnake post among others that I seen. But more squad leaders should use the squad commands which do help those not on comms. I been on a few that have and its been great. |

I've been the squad commander and gotten extra SP as the rest of my team/squad didn't bother to capture the specifird objectives I set out, so I did it.
I didn't take it personally Wesley, as we all have a place to make our own in this universe, however short lived.
Squad commands are only broken because most people can't either take or give orders. |

Agreed with this forum. Exspecially with keyboard could be more helpful for people without mic, they could type quicker and it would show up on somewhere on the screen for others to see quickly instead of pressing "select" then read the text. |
