Sniping is fine.
If you're getting counter-sniped by a forge gun regularly how about you just change position (even slightly in the same general area, since they HAVE NO SCOPE)?
You can 1-hit headshot anything in the game except dual buffer tanked proto suits (all but scout) and heavies with the right fit and skills, I don't see a problem here. |

you should not down a heavy as a sniper in 1 shot anyway, they are like tanks. |

Games with a lot of open areas need to be incredibly careful with sniping, as it can easily result in extremely frustrating gameplay for everyone else. Sniping really should not be able to easily take down people from range. Sniping should be more of a support role than anything, damaging enemies, suppressing them, taking out guys using forge guns or enemy snipers, that sort of thing.
It is better for everyone if sniping is kept as more of a harassment role than as a role designed to compete for kills with people using assault rifles or shotguns. |

As a frequent sniper I dont mind the heavy being able to tank me, i use a charge rifle and I charge it to the max before firing so, I alpha most other things, and typically wait to engage heavies when they are being shot at by friendlies closer to him getting a kill assist, or the killshot myself if lucky. Also if a forge gun is painted on my position I change positions. It's a slow fire weapon, and the person who is using it doesn't have any ability to zoom in on you. As a result I've not been counter sniped by a forge gun in this current build. The biggest draw back for snipers is that draw distances currently in the game dont help them at all. Many times I'm taking pot shots at chevrons becuase the distant models arent loading... I liked it better in the old version where they loaded, but they weren't animated... But the best thing to do would be to just make sure they are loading and animated at distances that people use the sniper role for. |

why's everyone saying OHK? nobody in this thread has asked for anything to be One hit killable.
the point is heavy's take 4-6 shots to kill, (more than any sniper clip) and when shot in the head it doesnt do anything for you.

in response to all your posts... your a troll who doesnt deserve a reply, "other than more dmg", no.. damage on sniper is fine, any more and they'd be over powered, more dmg isnt what im looking for by creating this thread, its the ability to take down non-shielded opponents easier with sniper's.
stonermoney: loool, those moments are awesome with a sniper. "dropship SQUISH" LOL!.
i also think that the towers which you can only get on-top of with dropships, "or the MCC itself" should be made un-accessable..
i hate seeing sniper's camped ontop of those things like little nublets, or even the dropships themselfs with rockets..

DONT carry grenades Wasted of CPU AND PG !!! 7. start WTFPWNing EVERYTHING AROUND YOU that's on the field. 8. look up 9. see dropship 10. KILL ITS GUNNERS !!! 11. CALL A OB ON IT !!! 12.
