I like this game, and I want to supply the devs with ideas to improve this game.
1. The Game Is Difficult To Understand. I mostly play Skirmish because it is reminiscent of Battlefield. Yet, I dont understand how to stop the MCC because although my team may have all of the capture points it will still dock. There are no instructions given to the player or an explanation of the game mode. I was shooting at the MCC with a turret for 4 minutes before realizing I wasnt doing any damage. It would be great to have a little introduction during the loading screen or a quick text when you are first spawned explaining the terms of victory or defeat in detail.
2. Shooting. The shooting in this game is rather difficult. it only takes a jump and a quick strafe left and right to escape gunfire and it gets quite frustrating. It would be great if there was magnetism (a.k.a. Aim Assist) or a slightly larger hitbox. Sniping is practically obsolete in Skirmish because the shooting is so unforgiving, and you will probably run out of ammo when you finally start hitting people. Do you have to lead shots or not? Maybe a tutorial for sniping would help.
3. Menus are not user friendly. I think the menus need to offer more details, and be a bit more streamlined. (The Market menu is modeled right after the PSN.) Theres alot of options and the best way to make it more streamlined is to offer a more intuitive, general approach to categories. For example, instead of listing all of the weapon types, set it up with sidescrolling tabs that show a picture of a kind of gun, the general name of the gun, i.e. shotgun, AR, etc., and a brief description of the functionality(ies) of that kind of gun.
4. Lag. This is understandable, this is a new game in its beta phase, I know... but the servers definitely have to be in better shape by the time the game is actually released.
5. SPAWN SYSTEM This problem is capitalized because it is the most ANNOYING aspect of the game. There has been countless times where I have spawned in Skirmish and have been mowed down by someone waiting for me to spawn. There HAS to be a safespawn aspect in the spawn system for players trying to get directly involved in the action to defend a console being hacked.
6. Weapons The game rewards high leveled players with high powered equipment, and it really isnt fair. I cant tell you how many times I have been outgunned by someone using a CreoDron Assault Rifle. I understand that high level players need to be rewarded but sometimes I feel as though my gun doesnt hurt the person im shooting. Overall, damage needs to be increased or health decreased.
7. Tutorials. A game this complex needs tutorials to explain all of the concepts to the players. Im completely new to the EVE universe, so it would be cool to know how we interact with them, and what the star map has to do with anything. Also, a tutorial for how to make a dropsuit and what each element of a dropsuit does would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Spawn system is currently bugged and we are aware of that issue. This will be fixed in the upcoming build and you will not spawn at exact same spot every time. |

1. Practice. And pay attention. Read instructions.
Each "letter" on the map in Skirmish gives your team control of a "Null Cannon" - if you're protecting the MCC, controlling it shuts it down. If you're attacking, it activates and opens fire. Null Cannons aren't directly player controlled, but more = more damage on MCC. You need to deal enough damage to destroy the MCC before it docks.
And the gun turrets CAN deal damage to the MCC, but they deal it in such small amounts that it's rarely worth the effort.
2. Shooting mechanics, in particular the glitchy aim assist (which IS present, but has problems) are an ongoing project for CCP. They know they need to work on this, and are doing so.
3. Agreed. As with other elements that need work though, beta, unfinished, subject to change (we hope).
4. I'm in New Zealand, connecting almost halfway round the world in either direction depending on server, and while I get lag, it's not generally that bad. It's more often comfortable and playable than problematic. While improvements would be nice, I don't see it as a necessary change.
5. Known issue. Resolved in the upcoming build. Will be fixed SOONGäó.
6. I've gunned down Prototype-geared enemies with Militia gear. I will balance that by saying I couldn't do so until I'd picked up a few SPs to spend on upgrades to my base stats, but I still don't have anything above level 4, and only a couple of things AT that level. It's an advantage, and it's possible it's slightly MORE of an advantage than it should be, but gear isn't everything.
7. Agreed. Tutorials definitely need to happen before the game is released properly. Many things are explained piecemeal in loading screens and menus (if you're willing to dig through and read), but having at least a basic rundown of things would be nice. |

Then you won't do good with Dust. Eve is entirely walls of text as its tutorials and this game was made for Eve players.

1. Hold points ABC to damage the MCC and win gg 2. There is no aim assist because CCP is forcing people into using a Mouse and keyboard with the game. 3. That's how Eve works, deal with it. 4. I don't see any lag at all its probably your connection or your joining the EU servers instead of US ones. 5. Yes its bugged yes theyre fixing it. 6. Again that's how Eve works, deal with it. 7. Finally that's how Eve works, deal with it.
You see to have misconceptions about Dust 514. This isn't battlefield or Call of Duty where all weapons do about the same damage. No in this game the more leveled you are in your skills the more unbeatable you will be. The whole inner workings of Eve has been based on this model and this game is simply an extension of Eve.
Case in point: Take time to learn about Eve and its skills and modules and how things work and understanding of Dust will come along with that.
Also one other thing, everyone is a sociopathic *******. I'm being what is considered "nice" right now. Don't get used to it. You will be tricked scammed and exploited because that is how the Eve universe works. Get used to it, adapt or die. |

Unfortunately for you FPS players EVE players pay CCP staff wages, it is their only product and one they have learnt after some micro transaction mishaps to be very careful with.
Expect DUST to be like EVE in many respects because EVE players if they don't get their own way will do the usual desub their accounts and wait for CCP to change thier mind. As an EVE player myself I don't mind the EVE like mechanics but I think the hardcore console players have to be realistic and understand that EVE players are a major stakeholder and have the power to cause massive financial pains for CCP. |

^ This is exactly the point - New Eden is New Eden - that means any game set in it will by necessity be brutal, unforgiving of mistakes, and will punish lack of knowledge and/or sloppy tactics.
It makes every victory the sweeter, though.
To the OP - stick with it, talk to peeps in chat - most are happy to share their hard-won knowledge, read the forums, specialize in one role at the beginning, and it won't take long before you are punishing the ignorant & sloppy yourself. |

I think MAG and Shadow Run (especially SR) had good interactive tutorials. It seems easy enough that when you create your character (he is born so to speak) that going through a basic tutorial (with options for more advanced tutorials) is a natural progression for your immortal soldier to learn how to become better.

the loudest eve players are a pain, rude, and arrogant so ignore them most of the time same can be said for the inmature console players who yell the loudest.
about the imbalance between new and old players this will go away more or less when high low and null sec are add, but for now dont go up against people directly take shots at people try for assist kills, hack stuff and once you specilized enough in one role you will start getting more kills. also dont stand still and put a clip into a guy, move around jump all over the place make your self a moving target(make sure you move a good distance the breach version have insane hipfire) once you get used to having to make an active effort to kill people not just run and gun the game will get better for you.
alot of the other issue can be explained by beta or the devs already know about them |

umm no, this game was not made for eve players, it was made for CONSOLE FPS players. we have hardly any mmo's on ps3, most console players have never played a gaming pc, and are not used to deep mmo elements in a game. look at it like this, the biggest crowd ccp would get are people from cod, battlefield and the ex mag guys... can you see a cod or bf player starting up a fps game so they can sit there and read for an hour. my pal got a beta code and i was at his house when he started playing, the first thing he did was skip reading the tutorial. text is fine , just not walls and walls of it. |

True true I should probably be saying; That's how New Eden works, deal with it.
Dust 514 is NOT its "own game" it is directly linked in with the Eve universe and it was made to be a part of the EVE universe. Please get your facts straight before you post and make a fool of yourself again.

Yes it is.....what part of MMOFPS do you not get? In this game the better players will stop the newer players. That's how its been in New Eden and that's how it will stay in New Eden as Dust is simply another facet of the New Eden conflict.

Again I state, that's how New Eden works, get used to it. This game was made FOR EVE players. Why do you think it was announced at CCP fanfest where 90% of the attending were EVE players? EVE is hard, Dust will be difficult. Get used to it its how CCP has done things and its how they will continue to do things.

EVE had a NPE coming....yeah it never happened, more and more boxes of text followed by some practical exercises that you learned what to do by *gasp* reading boxes of text. Honestly though is this really the state of the console playerbase? You can't look at something and figure it out, you need to have your hand held the entire time? A new player isn't going to sit around and and read a bunch of text, when they can engage the player in a interactive tutorial where they easily show and explain they players how its done. And when I started did the tutorial of eve it wasnt *gasp* a just a bunch of text you have to read . It would walk me through it and with Aura explaining it . And no nobody is saying anyones hands needs to be held , right now the tutorial only explains so little and needs more to explain for the newer players .
Here's a little something from the FAQ from the offical site
That still sounds too complicated. I just want to shoot things. Can I?
Simple answer, yes. While DUST 514 is a gateway into the EVE Universe, players looking for the classic 10-minute first person shooter experience will enjoy DUST 514 and its multitude of weapons, vehicles, worlds and gameplay modes.
or here I have never played EVE before and I donGÇÖt understand it, will that matter for DUST 514?
No, not at all. DUST 514 is designed to provide great moment-to-moment shooter gameplay, with no knowledge of the EVE Universe required. But players looking for a deeper experience will be able to discover and explore the EVE Universe, most enthralling and sophisticated virtual world ever created.
So yeah they totally made a console exclusive game FOR EVE PLAYERS , lol |

It will be possible to set up an account, create several characters, then ABANDON THE GAME for six months.
When you come back, you'll have a nice shiny stack of skill points to play with and customise your characters. If you feel like it's still a bit tough and too much of a grind to get anything, ABANDON GAME AGAIN, and come back in another six months. |

Newer players have the benifit of Militia Gear until you level up which is free which alows for alot of dying; players using high end gear cant use their proto gear more then 5 times in a match if the cost to restock is more than 75k to restock or they go into the negative in isk per match. Even then they have to do very well (hacks, little to no deaths...) in each match to keep the money coming in. Im sorry if you like to be lazy and kamakazi your whole game; the gear for that is militia gear and it serves its purpose well enough. I use militia suit to great effect in tandom with grenades and knowledge of how to dance you can hold your own against everything but protos but then if your in a proto you deserve the ability to dominate militia gear. Moral of the story Beta will go on L2P |

Then you won't do good with Dust. Eve is entirely walls of text as its tutorials and this game was made for Eve players. SirWinsAlot wrote:I like this game, and I want to supply the devs with ideas to improve this game.
But if people think the game sucks and dont play.. they dont pay. You will have to adapt to the game closing due to loosing to much money, It wont matter how much you rave that its like EVE, (I love EVE) there just wont be a game. |

1. It's simple -> Take and hold A-> B-> C-> They're cannons trying to shoot down the big nasty/wonderful spaceship.. depending on the team your on -> if your team "took points and lost anyway =/" that means the hostiles took em more often and held em longer than you did
2. Some one jumping means you aim where they land new guy. All your bullets will be waiting for them when they drop down and you'll get a lovely amount of damage - Strafing is a mechanic of shooters... always has been.
3. I can see what you're saying I'm an eve vet so I have no issues whatsoever but for people new to the series I can see how it can get kinda tricky.
4. There is a little but since this is a beta expect it.
5. They're fixing it.
6. I really Really don't want my shields and armor to be pointless. This isn't hard core mode of COD or battlefield.. we've got shield generators.. Although.. Every once in-awhile... I'm not sure if it's lag or just bad juju, I'll shoot at people.. and my bullets will impact the shield but the hostiles health bar will not degrade... can never tell if it's not registering.. or if my hud is not updating.
7. I think a basic tutorial would be nice. Hi I'm aura this is a point.. take it and keep it to win. |

I like what he's saying.. but at the same time.. if people are struggling to survive I damn well better get the chance to make it harder for them.
I can see it now.. it'll be sorta like mine craft... I'll just be a creeper. |
