Ever just been running for 5minutes to one place, to end up getting run over by some random dropship with no warnning? Well this and many other incidents can be avoided with the simple addition of a horn. Dropship roadkill casualties would be considerably lower if a horn was installed to all dropships.
I for one would fully take advantage of this horn by alerting any individuals in danger of becoming a k/d stat. That being said, Im sure the majority of us pilots would unanimously agree that a horn would not only make the battlefield a safer place, but also allow for pilots to do something while chasing other dropships through the air. A friendly "beep beep, im right behind you and have both gunners firing blasters at your engines" can mean the difference between life or death.
ALSO. It was mentioned that wheels should be added to the underbelly of the dropships.. it sucks having to repaint. Airbags and cup holders wouldnt be so bad either.

All vehicles show lights if they get up too close, including the dropship from above. It's well enough warning to get the heck out of the way. |

You could set it up so that the only way you can fly a dropship in combat is by first going through a class where you prove you can fly a ship without spilling your open beverage in the cup holder. You could call it..... the Bunta Challenge. |

How about a proximity alarm makes the vehicle backing up noise or a voice that announces "You have one second to avoid being crushed by this dropship." |

How about a smoke grenade that is a big visual indicator?!?!?
I think there are enough sounds in the game and a smoke indicator that can only be seen by your team would do the trick nicely...

That is actually a real neat idea. Deffinately brings the dust particles that should be flying out from under the ship to mind as well. |

Have you ever heard a car alarm? How many times have you heard a car alarm & thought "wow I hope someone isn't getting their car stolen"?
Once, maybe twice, back in 1990.
The horn shouldn't be proximity based. The pilot doesn't have a primary weapon, put the hook up for it there. Add it to the LAVs too. It'd be nice to be able to get the attention of those lazy sobs when I'm trying to take them around for a joyride. |

Left trigger though, I have remote shield repair on my logistics dropship and it uses the right trigger |

Make the horn R3 for all vehicles, they don't have a Melee, even if they add a gunship, the control should carry over. (I assume they are going to put afterburners on L3)
They can differentiate the horn based on vehicle class.
Car horn for LAV, Klaxon for DS, Tractor Trailer like Air Horn for Tank |

R3 is third/firstperson toggle. I do think L3 would work though! |

They make a lot of noise, I've been both the crusher and the guy on the ground, and I've only been crushed once or twice. I've avoided this Attack more often than I've died from it. Mainly by hiding, the droship can't spend too much time on any one spot or person because someone will slam it, so I wait for them to move on and I live. It's magic! As I was saying... They make a really loud humming or is it a farting sound when they are up close. And they effect the light around you whenever they are facing you. They have a really bright headlamp, so pay attention to sounds and shadows... Of course if your a sniper with tunnel vision, I would say the current map just doesn't offer enough cover. I think trees and other temporary structures should be added to the game to provide concealment and cover from aerial assault from people in the air. Or tunnels, or trench works. Of course working the limitations of this terrian I recommend people use other vehicles for cover. I constantly use a cheap lav when I'm on the ground, and don't have an ally vehicle near by. Perhaps snipers need repulsion fields, or passive cloaking devices because I feel really bad when I crush them... But honestly when im in a dropship I can't help myself, it's an addiction. I was a sniper in the previous build, but it had a lot more canyons and cover, that and dropships costing a lot of isk even for a bad one, and swarm missiles being so ++ber against everything, made them a lot more rare than where we are at now. I think adding a fighter jet that hunts other vehicles, but can't hit the ground hard and survive will be really good at taking the dropships thing down a peg. One it will take some pilots out of dropships altogether, two it will be an effective single person unit against other vehicles. Balancing it out would require making it less tank'y and thus more vulnerable than dropships to guided missiles and other collisions. From demos I'm pretty sure something like this is on the drawing board, and I can't wait. |

I also think dropships should be able to add a module that would reduce speed but allow for the pickup and transport of vehicles, nanohives, drop uplinks, and stationary turrets across the battlefield.
Of course such a benefit comes with risk. Your moving slower, your carrying an object through the air, meaning if you get shot down so does whatever your carrying. Making you not want to fly high or fast, AND the loss of isk. Lots and lots of isk. |

Also could include an actual mobile repair dock in the sky that cant be destroyed but is like a king of the hill type deal to make small repairs while your in the air. Like a drone almost. |

Alternatively, if the vehicle you're grabbing doesn't happen to have a gunner, I wonder if you could grab ENEMEY vehicles also (think "How does an eagle crack a turtle's shell").
Of course, you better be darn sure the thing can't shoot at you before you can let it go, but if its by a cliff and you can grab it unawares/without someone sitting in the top turret that can quickly shoot at you before you let go ..... |

I'd be in favor of them blaring loud country music. That would help me catch all those sneaky militia dropships trying to come crush me on the tower after I blew up their Sagaris.
