Okay so at this point I need to figure out how to get a refund for the $20 I apparently wasted on access to this beta. I cannot log into the game even though I have done nothing wrong, have paid the $20 for the mercenary pack, followed all instructions, even reinstalled the game a couple times, I play tons of other online gams on my PS3 (AND i play EVE online on my PC), have an excellent internet connection, but the game just gets stuck at the loading screens, and eventually brings me back to either the character selection screen or previous menus.
Very frustration, but I guess I'm the idiot for paying $20 for access to a broken beta. However I need to know how to get a refund ASAP. I would appreciate any help. |

I don't understand what you guys could POSSIBLY be blaming me for...I'm just the guy who was promised if he payed $20 he would have access to a WORKING beta...not a main menu.
Because a game is a beta DOES NOT mean it is broken - I have played MANY betas on my PS3 and never has a single one not worked at all. Not a SINGLE one.
I am posting this hoping somebody (who isn't a 16-year-old mongoloid troll) might recognize the problem I am having any help me understand what I need to do. Otherwise, as I have done before with faulty software, I can call up American Express, and let them know I paid for a product that was never delivered, and the charge will not be paid (by my at least).
Also, for those of you who are flaming and trolling me for no reason - even though you don't even have a reason to be IN the thread to being with, seeing as you have NOTHING to contribute - consider for a moment you guys are going to be some of the first console players to be introduced into a mainstream MMO. The way you behave online and in community forums such as this will probably play a significant role in the way MMO devs think about incorporating console players in the future. So far this community is doing a VERY poor job representing the PS3 community.
There is little in the way of intelligent discussion on this forum so far, and apparently the kiddies these days can't even find something decent to smoke, otherwise they wouldn't spend their days spamming and flaming tech support forums. I mean flaming tech support, REALLY GUYS???
I just need some help from ppl who know what they're talking about please. |

Buddy the best way to go is write tech support and let them know of your difficulties. They might be able to provide a better answer than this forum, mostly because we have no way of fixing your game. |

Buddy, they created what's called a "Tech Support" forum FOR A REASON. I know you probably cannot grasp the reason (must be the reason you are posting in this thread without anything whatsoever to contribute to the actual problem). Regardless, I created this thread for people who might have some useful advice, or have had similar problems, to help me out. Not for people like you to offer their opinions, as insightful as your comment was.

If the players cant help you, l believe he was suggesting you contact tech support directly, instead of hoping from help from the players.

Understand some people are still having issues with the login in screen whether it be due to having an old ps3, to needing to reset their ps3. This is at this point a very incomplete and buggy game so instability in a few systems is to be expected. Their is no refunds for volunteering for a Beta for an eventually free game... unless it gave you cancer; so take the hit on the head wait for the next build and hope your system works. Cheers |

OP at the end of the day this is an ingame BUG forum. You have not even had access to the game so reporting this as a bug is silly without considering that you might have missed something or that there is still something wrong on your end. There are NUMEROUS reasons why YOU and you alone cannot make it ingame. EMAIL tech support as you are the only person I know with a Merc pack that cannot login. |

Teddy, let me clear up a few things for you.
1. This is a closed beta for a reason. The notification at the top of your screen when you start the game up that says 'CLOSED TESTING - WORK IN PROGRESS' isn't for show, it means the game is still being developed and we're here to help test it and find bugs. That means there are going to be times when things just don't work, they'll be fixed. There are going to be times when you're unable to have fun, that will also be fixed. If you want it to be fixed faster keep playing and posting about issues you have. It helps the Devs know there's something up.
2. The Devs don't have a magic wand to make the game work. You need to be patient and wait for the next update. Depending on how they're organized updates could come weekly (which i think is best, but also a lot of work for them), or they could come bi-weekly or monthly (which makes things a bit easier on them, but leaves us testers butt hurt longer). Also, we won't always get the fixes we expect in the updates when they happen. Issues sometimes take a lot of work to fix so they can't always get every fix into every update.
3. Calling American Express to stop payment on the charge isn't going to help. You purchased PSN credits, then used those credits to purchase access to the beta. You got what you paid for, the credits. The game will get fixed in time, it's only been in beta for a month or so, and you'll still have the bonuses you got for buying in. If you want to insist on a refund as a former member of the industry I'd recommend calling Sony, not AmEx, you're far more likely to get your PSN credit back than you are to stop the charge on the card.
4. The issues you've described are wide spread, you're not the only player affected atm. The problem is somewhere in the sync between your game and the servers, it doesn't have anything to do with your system or your internet. It's a software or hardware issue with the game and the servers and there's no real way for us to fix it. The best we can do is work around it. When you first login you'll get about 30secs of good sync where your market will work and you'll be able to spend skillpoints. After every match you'll get the same 30secs or so. The best thing to do is to actually try to make changes or purchases during or in the lobby before a match, that way if the game does get stuck loading the match starting will force you out of the loading cycle. If you get stuck in a loading cycle and need to quit out of the game you probably won't be able to log back in to the game for 15mins because the servers are going to still be expecting you to be online and your login wont process properly.
5. If all of this is unsatisfactory to you I'd suggest just putting the game aside for a month and coming back in August. They'll probably have all of this fixed by then, if not sooner. The issues with the market and spending skillpoints just started last weekend with the 2.0 update. It'll be at least a few more days before they're fixed, but possibly longer. We haven't heard from the Devs about the issue at all yet as far as I know. |

ok ... first things first, what model ps3 do you have? Is it updated? how much room is on the hard drive? if these are copacetic, move to the next level.
to my experience, first I have 2 ps3's one is the 60g and 3 years old, the other is the new 360g I have found on the older one that screen freezes are more common. 2nd if you do not have access to beta you should put in a support ticket in my case the 3 support tickets were put in and answered within 24hrs. all problems solved quickly and efficiently. (I never did not have access to the beta but I did loose all my goodies) they were returned. It sounds to be like there is a problem with your account on the server side. The Devs can help you. Actually, I was going to do a lengthy reply, but that's really all there is to say. To an intelligent person this should be the end of the conversation, but from your entitled ranting it's clear that you're not smart enough to understand that concept.
Personally I hope they issue a ban with that refund if you do manage to get it, which I highly doubt since you got what you paid for, you were just too ignorant to know what it was you were paying for. |

This is a development beta, not a weekend preview before release.
in a sticky at the top of the bug report area there is an e-mail adress to contact CCP and get your acess straightened out.
Oh and if you contact your CC company, CCP can sue you for fruad - you bought a pack of game items, they delivered a pack of game items. BETA access was a freebie bonus with that, not that you bothered reading what you were buying.
I'm also pretty sure that without making ANY effort to contact customer support before threatening to revoke payments, you sir, have once again proven the case once again of why console gamers are considered to be the self entitled brats of the gaming world. |

The saddest thing about all this? After re-reading his rants, he actually thinks this is some official tech support forum. He fully expected a CCP employee to respond to him in minutes and fix all his problems.
I guess since he doesn't understand what a real beta is, the concept of a dedicated bug submission subforum doesn't register with him either.

Teddy you are not the only one having this problem. There are at least 4 threads about not being to play game at all due to endless loading. Devs had said they are working on it, but no fix yet as far as I know. As for everyone else, you would be pissed to if you could not log in and play the game at all. This is not a market freezing bug its a bug where you cannot play at all. Bugs are expected in beta but when they offer unlimited access with a purchase and you get zero access at all it is very frustrating. This is 2 straight weekends for me with 0 access. I feel for ya teddy and hope they fix this so that me, you and the countless others can actually play the game. |

Also, though you may be having beta access issue, your still in the beta, and the items that you get with the 20$ are still available for you when you'll log in ... the AUR, the guns, dropsuit, all of it.
And if it makes you feel better, it's not like this lost time will mean anything, we are all gonna be reset when the game officially releases for everyone =/ |

OP I paid $20 and got a lot of nifty stuff to test during the beta, on top of $20 in aurum. Same thing you paid for. Sorry to hear your "beta access" isn't working - but with your attitude you shouldn't be in ANY beta, much less this beta. Wait for the game to release, and enjoy your $20 of aurum and gear then.......
To Dumb : Didn't Read - If you paid $20 to play a game that isn't finished, and then want a refund - you need to have your caretaker take the CC info off your PSN account....... |

noone does. its for free. he paid for pack and aur, like anyothers 2. i paid 18 Gé¼ for it. but its not about paying or the pack in here i think.
maybe it was a failure by download or something. i would write an e-mail to support. |

In all seriousness, you posted in the forums where customers of the game frequent, and devs less often visit. You'd have much more of a chance by emailing CCP and asking for help from them. If you had played EvE, you will know about the petition system, and even if you'd emailed an EvE online dev, they would have been able to point you in the right direction. |

They are blaming and flaming you because they are trolls. IF you say anything bad about this game, justified or not, you are viewed negatively. According to most, this game is perfect as it is and god forbid you talk about their great glorified game in any way that isn't positive.
The simple solution concocted by this community for all the issues present is a simple,"It's a beta bro. If the game doesn't work for you properly you are an idiot." While most of us try and bring light to issues, we are guaranteed to be flagged down by the brown nosers in the community. You just need to get used to it, some of them here have their heads so deep they refuse to realize there are issues here and anyone who tries to post about them are just "flaming, trolling, Talking ****, making fun, ect" according to the community. I thought the reason we were here was to "test" and bring light to issues, not flame testers for calling the game what it is, Broken.
I guess since we don't play EVE, we just don't understand the concept of a FPS well enough to be taken seriously here. |

If you look through his post, he did say he played EVE.
And you can't call the game broken, simply because it is a beta and as such isn't the finished product - a game. Think of it as a car without doors. You wouldn't call it broken simply because it's missing doors, it's just not finished. It still works, and you'd prefer to have doors, but you'd happily still use the car, no? Especially if you know that in a week's time, you'll know that it will have doors. |
