I have seen absolutely no end to the amount of anger portrayed by my fellow gamers,
So I decided to put some of my solutions down to paper.
Obviously I cannot speak for the Dev's, but I can share some of solutions to this problem.
Lots of time buying anything in this BETA seems to come down to "Chance"
So I devised a strategy based on that fact.
Lets address the biggest issue with buying anything;
When playing this particular lottery the most common outcome is the game freezing or the spinning ball of death - both of which force a game restart. To avoid this you need to plan for the game being difficult, this means you need to setup so you can back out of the spinning ball of death.
There are two ways you can do this;
1. Game Menu Method
- If you just logged in or just exited a game, you have a short window when your game sync and your internet are at the highest. Take advantage of this fact and immediately open the market. If the Images do not appear within the first 8 sec then back out immediately! Your game is out of sync and needs to be readjusted.
- Open up your battle menu, if the ball starts spinning dont panic! This screen has the highest sync of everything else. wait patiently for the game list to pop up and select a game. *THIS IS IMPORTANT* If the "Waiting for Battle" text does not appear within the first 2 sec of you choosing a game, DONT PRESS ANYTHING ELSE. Simply put the controller down and wait patiently for it to appear. this can take up to 5 min - but its better than a system restart.
- Once it appears you can safely go to marketplace or skill menu without fear of freezing or game desync. Even if it still freezes the act of having the game queued up allows for immediate game entry even if your game has frozen. This method does have one flaw however, on rare occasions the game you joined will either end or fail. In this case if the game froze before it could began then you are still forced to game restart :(
2. In-Game Method
- This method is a bit simpler and has less issues ( however you cannot purchase or alter any skills while in a match).
- Enter a game and find a nice corner to sit, I suggest spawning with a basic set as to not waste resources.
Attempt to enter the Marketplace. As stated above if the main images do not appear within 8 sec then back out.
Kill some people, hack some stuff, crush a friendly with a tank or simply wait 5 min and try again.
- If the game does freeze simply press your L1 button to bring up the in-game menu and select "Game Overview".
Once that pops up click Circle and continue playing.
- Rinse and Repeat till you get results.
* Now when one of these methods finally does work it's best to buy only ONE item at a time (becomes tedious very quickly, but less buggy). Then after you have said item simply go over to "Restock" and add as many as you wish. I would suggest not stocking over 50 at a time as the game seems to bug out if you try to buy too much.
Hopefully this small guide has helped bypass the issues stated above. Have fun Guyz!

i try you method but it doesn't work for me. I try a lot of time to load skill plan on my charatter sheet page but i alaways stuck whit the spinning wheel and i can train any skill. Only 1 time i have the access to my skill, when i was on the ship waiting for the battle. but it was the first time and i spend all the time to understand what i can do and the battle start. i try to enter by the ologram, by menu and on the ship but i'm stuck. i hope ccp find a solution or i ask a refound because i'm unable to skilling

it's a real shame that workarounds like this are necessary for a feature that was working (albeit slowly) before the 2.0 update.

I have the ball of death ( no end loading ) only in skill screen!
I'm not skilling since dust 2.0 ha been released!
When i play i see players whit "duvolle assault rifle" or "NT-511 Sniper rifle" while i have my little "Breach Assault rifle"
Is like EVE, we definitely need to skill! Solve this problem!

It's nice to see those kind of threads guys. We are working hard to fix this but trying one of the solutions provided by the OT it is not a bad idea at all.

i can't restock assault rifles or drop suites on my gameor access them on the market place , been like it since 4th :( these work arounds didn't help me sadly. |

LOL I can't even play the game. I get the spinning ball of death just when I try to log in. It takes me 30 minutes to get to character
selection and then another 15 before it tells me the server has timed me out. Settle down at least you can play and earn skill points. |

I did some progressis about the skill management that doesn't work. I try all the possible way to solve this issue and i found a litle trick that give me the possibility to access skill management only 1 time and then it stop working again.
The trick is a simply;
try to open skill management and try to load it.
If it freeze exit the game.
When you are on XMB go to saved game data under game menu an find Dust save data and delete it.
Deleting save game of dust don't have effect at skill or other stuff acquired.
Reboot Ps3 system.
connect to dust client and do not enter to skill management on the menu or hologram if not the ps3 freeze.
Go to battle search an wait until the ship is load, when you are on the ship waiting for the battle go to the skill console on the left (don't enter by menu) and the skill management now load correctly but you have only 1.50 minute to do modification.
After this if you try to reopen skill management system freeze again.
I hope this is usefull for you.

i found a solution, try to delete your dust' savedate under saved game data in xbm then change the language of ps3 and set it to english. Logg into dust and try market skill and other ones |

Buddy tried this and gets "Invalid Account" Error every time he tries to log in.
Plus I do not think that the game save has anything to do with internet sync.
Maybe its a 50/50 solve. |

Be sure that u have correctly open your routers port. You can find which you must open on google. Try this setting and be sure that you have reboteed your ps3 after gamedata delection |

I have only experienced one issue where my game caused me to restart and I am running on a first-gen PS3 over possibly the worst wi-fi connection in the UK at only 20% signal strength.
I am not bragging but I don't know how these kinds of bugs and issues are arising on you systems.
There doesn't appear to be any distinctive correlation here. Personally, I had more issues with Skyrim.  |

If your saying that you have absolutely no bugs or errors or freezes while you play this game then your not playing enough. |

I'm glad to see that this thread was stickied, but also dismayed at the prospect of this issue not being fixed immediately as would be suggested by the need to sticky a post about how to work around it :(
I really didn't expect this issue to still be affecting us almost 2 weeks after it's first appearance. I thought it would have been a priority issue for the Devs to resolve because it's making doing our jobs as testers next to impossible. |

I took a break from when I first got beta access for like 10 days and I had nothing but problems with the game until I deleted and reinstallted the game. Numerous freezes, failing to buy equipment, hanging for 15 minutes waiting for a battle, etc. My only advise is to first try the hdd/database scan first and if that doesn't work delete dust and reinstall. After I did this I never had any problems with connecting to the game or completing any tasks. |

I hear ya, but unfortunetly since everything is saved on their servers it means they have to do a revamp of the whole damn thing.
Which means a sh*tload of downtime. It's not tecnically a game critical bug since the game operates for the most part.
Until the game starts crashing like a American Airline it won't be fixed.
My guess is it will come out whenever the first patch does. :( |

I'm sorry, I most certainly would consider the loading lockups and constant loss of sync a very critical bug. It may not impede the operation of the game server side, but it very seriously inhibits a player's ability to actually play the game. Anyone experiencing this bug is, except under very specific, undefinable, and unpredictable circumstances, completely unable to make purchases on the marketplace, create, alter or restock fittings, or purchase, use, or invest in skills with the skillpoints they've earned.
This needs to be fixed asap, preferably BEFORE the next big content patch. This is definitely a hot fix worthy issue that deserves immediate attention. |
