"Mommy Mommy i cant handle three dimensional combat what should i do?" "Don't worry child i will go and make the developer nerf the **** out of it"
Is this too offending? My bad.
To answer the questions (once again) Dropships can bring you on top of the tower, then if someone drops a Droplink you can directly spawn on top of it. Did you know you can also ride the MCC?
The Problem is: If there is no nanohive on the tower the players will have to jump from the tower to get some ammunition. You might be able to see 50% of the Battlefield, but effectively 30% to 40% are out of clipping distance (because the tower is too damn high), as already stated Missiles wont lock on most of the things (except Dropships who are conveniently getting near you). You too can only get the ground infantry with sniping rifles (well i do not know about forge guns or mass drivers)
So basically those towers are a good place for snipers with nanohives and droplinks to guard a certain (but not unlimited) space from ground infantry.
Its way worse if you're on the MCC, the collision model does not match what you see, i have tried to shoot down an enemy on top of the mcc but he was guarded by the mcc Collision model. At least it felt so.
I do agree however, that dropping a tank on the tower is a bit too much, the funny thing is, when i tried to do it, i got the message "place cannot be reached" or something like that, which makes tanks on towers even more mysterious
what is with the turrets of a gorgon i cant say as i havent used them to attack ground troops (only other dropships and that dam person on the mcc) |

good for you but i still have to understand what you want to say with it. . . is it some kind of hipster thing like "I mauled over getting on top of the mcc before it was cool"?
I do however give you props for pointing that out on the old canyon map, i never actually cared about the mcc on the old map (since i barely fly then) |

If there was anything I would alter would be the ability to call in vehicles to the roofs of buildings and the use of Uplinks on the roofs of buildings. If you get up there you should have to come down to get resupplied or just die!
Well you have to come down to resupply unless there was someone smart enough to drop some nanohives. Its the same as everywhere, if you have no nanohive you have to get to the nearest resupply point. Droplinks are especially made to establish spawn zones all over the map, so why limit them to ground level? Only so that you can stop looking up (from now and then) and concentrate on looking left and right? There are also snipers on the socket of those sky scrapers, they are also annoying as hell, but nobody say anything about it. Why? Because you can sneak up on them and kill them from behind? you can also do that with the people on the skyscraper. |
