well as the title proclaims why not have the beta live everyday so you could get the most out of it an everyone that enjoys dust so much can play i also remember seeing a link with the dlc saying that you would get access to the beta during downtime
also i understand beta needs downtime an obviously it cant be up all the time but why not 12hrs a day half the day its up the other half its down it sounds reasonable....please comment opions on beta being live everyday |

As beta testers we are a post QA process, which means they need time in-house to perform developer end testing on their product (called Unit Tests) and Quality assurance on the changes they intend to implement, regression testing (testing things already known to work) must be done frequently to prevent new features which are being added from impacting old features in an unpredictable way. |

While I would love to play this all day everyday it is a beta test and they do need time to work on the game and fix problems perhaps later closer to the actual release that may be feasible and probably even necessary but for now I don't think its gonna happen
Keep in mind this beta is also being done in Europe that is minimum of five hours difference from the east coast so twelve hours a day would not give the EU and the US an equal amount of time to test |

As much as it pains me to say this, please do NOT make the dust beta live everyday I'd never get any work done :) |

Mu guess is that during the weekend, they record a tremendous amount of data, which has to be analysed, and bugs identified. They use the week for that. |

They don't want to waste money. Running additional servers costs money. They don't need 24/7 testing done. My guess is that during weekends the office is closed anyway, so they let people use the game servers. During the week, CCP staff is working and testing the game live and doing stuff on the server that is then left running during weekends for people to play. |

The beta events take place every other weekend. The merc pack opens it up to every weekend. |
