These are just a few ideas i have had for some weapons/ equipment that could be added to the game
1. A single shot lock on or dumb fire A/V missile/ rocket Reasoning they exist today, it could use an equipment or sidearm as the devs feel is appropriate. it would give the assault guy a reasonable way to deter tanks and dropships from well anything. this is not because i feel vehicles are overpowered i simply feel feel that it would encourage even more diversifed styles of play. as far as the dammage it does it would need to be significant but not enough to one shot anything above a basic tank/ dropship.
2. magnetic A/V Charges just something to give the infatry anther way to fight heavy armor.
3. Simply more variety of pistols and perhaps full auto machine pistols. basically i would simply like to have more choices than SMG or Scrambler.
4. Indirect fire artillery. enough said. Steel Rain.
I know that some of these are probably in devolopement but just a few ideas. |

I'm going to disagree simply for the fact that there is already a massive lack of gun game requirement in FPS's nowadays. Carrying small few shot rocket launcher for vehicles wouldn't be bad, bit I know people will abuse it as a portable rocket launcher for cheap one hit kills on infantry.
This is a first person shooter in it's gameplay. Look at your enemy and shoot them. Don't let a weapons indirect splash damage do your job.
As for Sidearms, there really isn't much variety especially with how weak the SMG's are, but I'm still against an auto-pistol because I know it's all anyone will use as a pistol. Just get the SMG and practice your gun game. |

But I would say instead of sidearm or equipment slots, make it a grenade slot replacement. Allow the charge to stick to any vehicle or dropsuit, but make the throw range 3 - 5 meters at most.

thanks for the feedback guys.
to address the use of the rockect launcher against infantry make it vehicle lock on only.
honestly i never really use a sidearm anyway i just just look at the world of firearms and say to myself "wow there a lot more types of weapons i colud use a sidearm than this" those thoughts are purely for varieties sake.
as for the artillery idea i was thinking of both explosive shells (traditional arttilry) and MLRS (multiple launch rocket system) types for balance sake they would have to be slow firing and i feel they would need a target designated not randomly fire shells of into the distance to kill whomever happens to be there |

You apparently haven't met the Creodon Breach AR.
Look, all I ever use in FPS's are SMGs, pistols, and knives. I can show you screenshots of my KDR's and weapon stats. I always have at least a 2-1 kdr, and THOUSANDS of kills. I'm not saying I'm amazing but I am certainly an above average gamer. Suffice it to say I KNOW how to use SMG's to their fullest extent in many situations. I also run around in the lightest armor available. I play a rapid "quick and dirty"/"in and out" type game style.
The SMG isn't horrible, but when everyone starts getting all their points in their respective weapons, you will notice how weak the SMG is. Repeatedly I get the first shot on people with my proto tier SMG, with my SMG damage skill maxed out, and people assault classes can turn around to take me out with that damn Creodon AR. The effective range of the SMG is so limited that with how close you have to be, if you fight an AR user at your level, he can most likely turn around to take out your scout armor before you can finish them because the damage of an AR at an SMG's effective range is more devastating. Hell, people often turn around and end me with Militia AR's. This would all be fine if I wasn't using proto tier SMG's with my SMG damage maxed out and sneak attacking them from behind at close range.
Also, shotguns are supposed to kill you at close range in one pump. You ever play an FPS? |

I use the following fitting:
- Type II Assault Dropsuit
- 2xshield extender
- Swarm Launcher
- SMG
- Nanohive
- Stamina Extender
- Locust grenade
Yeap, shotguns and heavies are the problem. Shotguns kill you faster than you can kill them. Heavies are too tough to die from one clip. However, I played a lot on Sunday and almost everyone was with AR. I just strafe around them with R1 pressed and they die .
We'll see how it goes when more and more people get access to better AR, shotguns and heavy dropsuits. As it is now, I feel really comfortable with my SMG and recommend it to anyone who has problem with AR aiming (including me ).
Also, you should understand that with SMG I have access to swarm launcher. This means I can obliterate turrets, dropships and HAVs.
By the way, did you tried SMG in the current build? In the previous build it way indeed useless.

I noticed that when you set your default it doesn't always switch, even if you log out and back in, it still flickers between suits, may wanna fix that!
I notice when you hold down on the rocket launcher fire button it some times doesn't go off, so that could be fixed.
Also I think the Turrets are just a little Over Powered, (OP) ; I think they can get turned down just a tiny bit.
I recommend the dropped tanks, and jeeps and gunships, should be facing the direction to the center of the the battle field or at least the same way your looking when you order it.
Jeep drive controls need a little more work, rather hard to drive !
Well, that is it for now, still exploring the options and the game! Over all this game is still a 9/10, or at least 8/10, and just a great idea, I hope we can make it work ! |
