I know that some of these are probably in devolopement but just a few ideas.
I'm going to disagree simply for the fact that there is already a massive lack of gun game requirement in FPS's nowadays. Carrying small few shot rocket launcher for vehicles wouldn't be bad, bit I know people will abuse it as a portable rocket launcher for cheap one hit kills on infantry.
This is a first person shooter in it's gameplay. Look at your enemy and shoot them. Don't let a weapons indirect splash damage do your job.
As for Sidearms, there really isn't much variety especially with how weak the SMG's are, but I'm still against an auto-pistol because I know it's all anyone will use as a pistol. Just get the SMG and practice your gun game. |

My main fitting is swarm launcher with SMG. I hardly ever lose any 1v1 close combat fight with SMG (except for heavies). It's too OP in this build, in my opinion. You apparently haven't met the Creodon Breach AR.
Look, all I ever use in FPS's are SMGs, pistols, and knives. I can show you screenshots of my KDR's and weapon stats. I always have at least a 2-1 kdr, and THOUSANDS of kills. I'm not saying I'm amazing but I am certainly an above average gamer. Suffice it to say I KNOW how to use SMG's to their fullest extent in many situations. I also run around in the lightest armor available. I play a rapid "quick and dirty"/"in and out" type game style.
The SMG isn't horrible, but when everyone starts getting all their points in their respective weapons, you will notice how weak the SMG is. Repeatedly I get the first shot on people with my proto tier SMG, with my SMG damage skill maxed out, and people assault classes can turn around to take me out with that damn Creodon AR. The effective range of the SMG is so limited that with how close you have to be, if you fight an AR user at your level, he can most likely turn around to take out your scout armor before you can finish them because the damage of an AR at an SMG's effective range is more devastating. Hell, people often turn around and end me with Militia AR's. This would all be fine if I wasn't using proto tier SMG's with my SMG damage maxed out and sneak attacking them from behind at close range.
Also, shotguns are supposed to kill you at close range in one pump. You ever play an FPS? |
