In the last patch it took about 6 hits from my forge gun to kill a marauder... In this, I belted one with all 16 rounds of my forge gun and I got it only a fraction into armor.
So far from the few I've seen deployed, they trample the whole map. The only two I've seen go down is when there were 4+ people fighting them with swarm launchers.
Is anyone else feeling that these are a bit OP

was he parked near a supply depot? they passively repair the armor of nearby friendly vehicles. combined with the charge time of the forge gun it could give a high resistance fitted marauder amazing survivability.
though if i'm perfectly honest i'm quite skeptical about the 16 rounds claim. did you have to keep stopping to deal with infantry in between? giving him time to use armor reppers or shield boosters? 16 shots from even a standard forge gun is over 19K damage. |

Nope. He was moving around point A trying to hit me. (I was ontop of one of the buildings. Could be partially a damage penalty to range (But I still take out militia takes in 3 hits) |

How to kill a murader,
Step 1 jump on the damn thing its amazing how often the idiot pilot bails out to try to deal with you personally, deal with pilot or gunners that exit the vehicle and kill them. Step 2 if you are equipped for it remote demo his rear end out of existence stay on the tank if you have to ensure the kill. |

Strange. The best armor rating (without losing resistance dampening plating and a repair unit) is 6600, however I could get this up to around 6900 by leveling up to mechanics level 5, but that still doesn't answer the question as to how he managed to tank 16 forge gun shots...I've even tried fitting out the very best armour in as many slots as possible, and the max armor limit would be around 10,000. That's with no damage resistance and no repair units.

Well, mine has 6600 armor and about 40% resists. Ignoring the shields completely, that's 11000 damage that needs to be done. If I heal 4000 with my repair unit, with the resists applying still, that's another 6600 damage that needs to be done, making a total of 17,600. If they (assuming it wasn't me you were shooting) were moving around, maybe you splashed a couple shots instead of landing them perfectly (or maybe you did anyway if they were standing still).
A decked-out marauder class isn't going to go down easily from one person.
I don't feel they're overpowered, though. Granted, I use one, and torment everybody when I do, but I also know what it takes to bring it down, and I get out of harm's way most of the time before it happens. I think I've only lost 2 so far, and it's because of damage management and awareness, not invincibility. You're asking to die if you go into a high threat area with your repair module having a large amount of cooldown still ticking. |

When I get hit by a Forge Gun in my Marauder, I usually end up about 20% into armour on the first shot, and unless I'm fast at engaging my armour repairer, and get the hell out of there, I'm dead. If my armour repper is already in cooldown, I might as well just give up. I have 4900+ HP armour. so 16 shots means BAD aim on the OP's part. |

That said, some form of inertia would be nice, unless you hang on for dear life, and wear a seatbelt, standing on a moving vehicle hitting an obstacle should see you faceplant that obstacle... |
