Been testing the game out and one thing that kinda is off putting as a EVE Online player coming into this exciting new game is the amount of people hopping around everywhere with no limits, even in the Battlefield FPS jumping is limited to a extent, I think that jumping would benefit being limited and tied into stamina so we don't see a bunch of people jumping around like a bunch of morons, a tweak or something would help and not turn this game into a bunnyhopping match , you don't see people in RL bunnyhopping in war why should we in a game. |

But on a serious note, does anyone know who started this fad? But like for real I'm being really serious about wanting to know who the first person to start this fad was... for sh*ts and giggles. |

Strafing and bunny hopping is my anti every one that isn't a scout strategy. The extra stamina from the stamina regulators is very useful. It works well when everyone is distracted by me and gets killed by my teammates. I sometimes do this to turn a gunfight my teams way. The fact that the dragonfly suit's colors also grabs attentions kind of helps. |

Good thing we're super soldiers.
I don't jump (often); I play as a heavy and kill most jumpers before they hit the ground. |

Personally, I would love to be able to jump one extra time, but that's just me.
The game as it is, does a decent job of letting me bunny hop, but not to the point where I'm bunny hopping everywhere... Once I've started hopping in a gun fight, I've usually given up my chance to run away for cover.
I usually watch how full my stamina gauge is fairly often just to make sure I can be ready to move away or around enemies in case... Anymore limits on mobility at this point, would be too much.
I do not understand why people have such an aversion to mobility, it is fine the way it is in my opinion... |

This seems like a wasted thread. Why couldn't this have been another thread about nerfing tanks or something? This is just paltry in comparison.
I have little to no issue with jumping the way it is. In fact, I strive to kill people in mid-air, for extra lulz. It's a wonderful feeling. |

I will admit im a terrible fps player, i can't aim for ****, and i understand this is not a realistic shooter.
It still pisses me off every time i see someone jumping up and down to somehow avoid bullets. Yet the guy running around in scout suit with that 1 shot shotgun still seems fair lol. The jumping is pretty ******* ********, id be happy to have the interact with obstacles kinda like gears of war or similar.
If we have low gravity planets or maps, thats where all the rabbits can go play. |

You know whats even funnier than killing a hopper? Killing a guy while I'm hopping lmao. Seriously though if jumping is going to save your life in actual combat would you do it? heck yes you would. I jump and jump and jump and I don't care if it makes you mad I have all kinds of good stuff for stamina that I PAID for with my own ISK so I could run, jump, and frolic if i needed to. I'll usually jump off of something or onto something anything to get your cross hairs off of me for one more second so my shields aren't depleted. I run assault class with a stamina catalyst and wherever it's called that refills stamina faster.
Just so everyone knows if you run across me in battle and I run and jump it's not because I'm happy to see you. I'm over joyed that I get to make you have a very very bad day. Also I make it a habit to know where my team is so if i start loosing i run run run and jump if need be so i can go hide behind a tank and let him show you a thing or two about what the word heavy means. LMAO!
If everything has an equal and opposite reaction then I'm what the heavies have caused me to be.
Now for a short story about hopping and running against a heavy.
I was on a hill and a heavy was at the base long as i didn't move forward i was safe. I knew I couldn't beat him and was all outta grenades. So I huffed and I puffed my way all the way around the base of the tower and found myself behind him. I took my aim and placed him square in my sights I only have a few seconds to turn out his lights. With him still waiting and myself positioned behind him up on some pipes, I opened fire with my assault rifle. Bullets flying the poor lad didn't stand a chance he hit the ground and just for giggles I went over shot him in the FACE so he remembered a lesson. Guys in an assault dropsuit run fast when they have a stamina catalyzer fitted. The End.
That being said i have less shields and sacrifice in other areas to help keep these abilities open for myself. It's a strategy and it's available to everyone and not that bad. You can still hit me while I'm jumping so if your mad about it obviously your the one that can't aim.
PS i don't just hop randomly when i hop it's usually when there is something to jump on and off of. for example if someone is shooting me I'll jump onto a low bed truck (when i'm being spawn camped at C on the plateau map) then hop off at the person spawn camping all the while releasing a fury of bullets at the lazy spawn camper. I've spawned the camper and boy does it feel good. that sounds dirty.... lol |

why should tanks be nerfed? they need to remove the free tanks and dropships tbh part of the vehicle balance is the cost involved to bring in a tank or dropship now every scrubling can order free tanks and dropships over and over |

I think the jumping is fine. It's already tied into your stamina bar and most people can only jump twice. I don't see this as a problem at all and I like the mobility as is. |

I agree completely, and I play a guy who keeps his boots firmly on the ground. People with stamina increase gear can't jump. People with stamina increase gear can. That seems eminently fair. Just like my suit can regenerate its armor, not just shields, and do it while somebody else is still waiting to get their shields back. |

Also try search. RIght next to forum index. I am often too lazy to use search myself. But before anyone can make another thread on this topic I would request that they be required to read every other thread on jumping and "bunny hopping" that already exists.
Yes, you can dodge a few bullets. Yes it looks silly. But you can't cover much ground and you can barely jump over a rock or a crate.
*Edit - and this is with a decent scout suit and some modules. |

IMO the movement is better in thi build than in the previous one. And I was a firm defender of the movement nerf.
CCP now has a serious task ahead that is to fix hit detection.
We are firing weapons normal beings could not hope to hold, still bullets are so slow that if you have to lead targets?

I believe it should be a factor regarding height, but not frequency. |

There is a limit to jumping, no one jumps without limit. There is stamina that stops you from jumping too much, knifing too much, sprinting too much. |

The games hit detection is good enough that bullets going between the legs do nothing and it seems different limbs take different damage. |

Hit detection is fine, but people tend to just do it the EVE way (get close and orbit; then shoot) which is a bit odd for a shooter. |
