There are two types of aim assist.
1. Active aim assist. This is when your crosshairs are shifted by the game to stay on target.
2. Passive aim assist. This makes the crosshairs move SLIGHTLY faster when you're turning towards the target while you're close to aiming at them, and SLIGHTLY slower when moving away from aiming at them.
Option 1 should be avoided where possible, and should ALWAYS come with the option to disable.
Option 2 is almost always included to some extent in console shooters (both first- and third-person), but is rarely a large enough effect to be visible to the player. When it is, people always complain, but most of the time people don't even realise it's happening, so it doesn't get noticed. |

There is no aim assist what you have is an aim hindrance not assist and the purpose is to make sure you get noticeable benefits from putting SP on those aiming skills. Not many of you may have noticed but there is a skill that reduces AR spread by 5% per lvl that's your "aim assist" right there meaning you are supposed to shoot allover the place 25% of the time without the skill. |

We definitely have Active Aim Assist. I clearly saw my reticule locking-on the enemy: while firing over the hip is clear as light.
In my experience Passive Aim Assist on consoles is used to compensate for the lower turning speed of the analog stick and makes things smoother but not easier. |

All good. Just making sure I'd been clear. I'm sometimes a little incoherent with putting my thoughts into text. |

What is this 'Fire over the Hip ' Stuff? Really, I dont know.
And on another note. You dont have it ( aim assist) with the Sniper rifiles that I have seen. |

I've noticed it while using a DS3 and breach AR. I even let go of the right thumbstick and sure enough it lead the guy in a scout suit without even hitting him. Aim assist is there and compensating for it is clunky. I'm not saying to nerf scout speed, just allow us the ability to track them without being rubberbanded to a mass that isn't there. Maybe this has to do with the hit detection problems people are still having, which is much improved upon last build, but still needs some tweaking. |

And sniper rifles, at least when scoped, don't have aim assist. That would be ridiculous. Other weapons have it MUCH less while scoped/ADS, but it's still there if you're looking for it.
But it's definitely a to-be-patched known issue anyway. |

Aim asst is always on AFAIK, sights/scopes included. I am pretty sure LAR has it while using sights. |

I've only used a sniper a couple of times, and while scoped, I didn't notice aim assist while I was looking for it.
With the AR and SMG, I did, but it wasn't as problematic as it gets when hip-firing. |

Hit detection & lag also get in the way so it's hard to tell which is which.
