The title says it all.
I know this has been discussed over and over but nobody formally "requested" it so I did it.
P.S. Please don't +1 me because I don't want to get credit for this thread: disable aim assist is a popular request, vox populi. |

^^^ It happened to me as well. The game should never decide for you, it's so frustrating when it happens.

I hope CCP is reading this because a FPS with aim assist isn't worth playing IMO. |

Really CCP aim assist in FPS is evil, pure evil. Let us turn it off. |

Garrett Blacknova wrote:There are two types of aim assist.
1. Active aim assist. This is when your crosshairs are shifted by the game to stay on target.
2. Passive aim assist. This makes the crosshairs move SLIGHTLY faster when you're turning towards the target while you're close to aiming at them, and SLIGHTLY slower when moving away from aiming at them.
Option 1 should be avoided where possible, and should ALWAYS come with the option to disable.
Option 2 is almost always included to some extent in console shooters (both first- and third-person), but is rarely a large enough effect to be visible to the player. When it is, people always complain, but most of the time people don't even realise it's happening, so it doesn't get noticed.
We definitely have Active Aim Assist. I clearly saw my reticule locking-on the enemy: while firing over the hip is clear as light.
In my experience Passive Aim Assist on consoles is used to compensate for the lower turning speed of the analog stick and makes things smoother but not easier. |

Aim asst is always on AFAIK, sights/scopes included. I am pretty sure LAR has it while using sights. |

Hit detection & lag also get in the way so it's hard to tell which is which.
