So I read the following: https://imgur.com/a/DIYKu The concept sounds all well and cool but how do those newly utilized NPC corporations and player made corporations fit together in Nova? To me, the most likely possibility would be Project Nova is taking the concept introduced in DUST 514's Faction Warfare further. By that I mean instead of the 4 broad factions players could fight for in DUST, there will be multiple NPC corporations for individual players to fight for and accrue specific points in Nova. Those points can then be used to purchase specific weapons and gear from those same NPC corps similar to how loyalty points work in EVE. Along with that, I surmise player made corporations will still be there just like how there are both NPC and player made corporations in EVE. I will say when I first read the link though, I had the thought these NPC corporations would be replacing player made corporations altogether but I see that as very unlikely, especially if CCP does plan to integrate Nova with EVE at some point.
Anyway, if you have a different guess/theory or any other comments for what the above info in the link means for Nova, please reply.

I feel your assessment is correct. Players will still have their own corps but do missions and other things to gain standing with NPC corps as well.

I don't see that being materially different than when players would ring in PC matches.

Furthermore, Nova might end up similar to EVE where player made corps can devote themselves solely for the purpose of another corp such as an EVE player made corp devoting themselves to the Tribal Liberation Front to fight in Faction Warfare. The possibilities are very exciting.

" To get specific weapons you may need standings with the corporation. "
This is theoretically a great idea. Would force loyalism to a certain corporation in the game. Would make FW necessary.
On the other hand, without balanced weapons, everyone runs the same stuff and we beg to wonder what was ever loyalism if everyone runs the same thing ?

Hmmm... the idea of improving one's standings with NPC corp to get specific weapons? I'm in!

I would wager the idea of having each player's standings with one NPC be adjusted based on their relations with other NPCs.
Let's say I have been a good mercenary to the Ishukone Corporation, and thus they reward me with better access to that sweet Ishukone Nova Knives. But then I head over to fight for the Kalaakiota Corporation and thus a suffer a small hit to my standings because both of these corporations (despite being in the Caldari Empire) are technically competing against each other.
But then the following day I start fighting for Roden Shipyards. THEN my standings with Ishukone and Kalaakiota start suffering a major drop because obviously Roden Shipyards is with the Gallente Empire and we all know how much the Caldari and Gallente hate each other.

This is mostly the case in Warframe (meh game) with their NPC syndicates. So when you get standings towards one syndicate, it has those effects on others: Allied (+50% standings) Opposed (-50% standings) Enemy (-100% standings)
So basically you can't be friends with everyone, making the choice matter. (Though I heard you can max out all of them through tedious micromanagement that I don't have the time or patience for, but that's not the point)
And in that game, syndicates that you have negative rank with will, on occasion, send "death squads" after you in the middle of your mission. Perhaps that basic concept could be implemented in Nova, whatever form it might take. After all, it's fun to be hated in New Eden.

One one hand, this sounds cool cuz FW is fun and unlockables tied to factions seem cool. But on the other hand, it can cripple the diversity (only if you can't work for all factions). Depending entirely on how much difference there would be between custom versions of the guns.
Mostly I use every asset available in the game depending on the situation, so being tied to only 1 'master' is kind of a bummer from my perspective.

If loyalty and corp gear is done in Nova similar to how it is done in EVE, you can get gear directly from the corporations for loyalty points plus a small amount of ISK but you can also pay for the same gear for retail ISK price off the market. The only thing said that counters this is Rattati said high standing may be need for certain weapons. Still, that may be for specific weapons as a perk for being loyal but I imagine there would be other variants available for those that want to switch it up. If Nova truly wants to be like EVE, I would doubt CCP would be limiting what players can use. Furthermore, limiting players to one faction or set of corporations can cut down players' available time to spend in game as they have less on the tree to skill up and less loyalty to be gained which I severely doubt CCP wants to do. Leaving the skill tree fully open along with leaving players open to work for any corp they choose leaves players to explore what they haven't tried or filled up yet.

I think maxing one corp loyalty to get access to a weapon and at the same time being locked out from another weapon from a rival corp is a great mechanic. This way, player trading is relevant. If I want to get x weapon and not have to grind for it, I need to keep an eye out in battle for one mercenary that is loyal to that corp. (Maybe add an after battle tab where you can see the standings of all players.) Then I would have to contact him and bargain for him to sell his weapons to me or something. This can be as simple or as complicated as you want (IE, adding a max number of corp weapons you can buy per day, therefore increasing each one's value and making people think twice before selling them, making being a merchant a viable playstyle)
What about this mechanic: If a Mercenary Corp pledges it's allegiance to an NPC corp the members of that merc corp get a loyalty increase ratio bonus, and a ratio decrease penalty for the rival corp. Maybe corp battles could be arranged between corps that are allied to enemy NPC corps, the outcome of the match giving a big bonus in loyalty to the members of the winning corp. This is how corp battles should be implemented.
