Two nerfs to rails, nerf and then a quarter buff to large blasters, Nerf to large missiles, two useless buffs to small blasters.
Oh yeah, can't forget adding the SHAVs, the completely useless class of vehicles that no experienced pilot would use.
That is the work that made vehicles viable?

Now, I am not blaming Rattati for all that, since Wolfman really left a stinker with the vehicle rework in 1.7, but to say Rattati did anything other than marginalize vehicles is flat out false.

Redoing the vehicle progression and going towards the tiericide that so many people begged for.
Narrowing vehicles down to a manageable size that actually could be balanced and getting us closer to vehicle balance than any time in the game.
Adding vehicle damage points which helped out vehicle users far more than A/V users.
At several points in the balancing process leaving tanks 100% indestructible.
Multiple attempts at recycling assets just to give us a form of racial parity even tho the PS3 would not allow it.
The list goes on but the point is just because it was not changes that fit into your picture of what should have been done does not mean they were not worked on.
If by marginalize you mean make them not god mode thus keeping the focus on playing a shooter in a shooter game then okay fine I will concede to your point. |

There is no progression in tanks. Not proto, you die, and quick.
Vehicles aren't balanced, they are pointless.
Tanks were god mode in 1.7, which wasn't Rattati, that was wolfman. Know your dust history.
Promises about racial parity are about as valuable as a ruler in a **** measuring contest in a room full of eunichs.
For myself, I preferred the old, pre 1.7 tanks. Easily killed, hard to keep alive, but if you were attentive, and cautious, and the game didn't screw you with invisible swarms and unspottable forge guns, fun could be had.
Whatever, you infantry only scrubs can go suck it. Clearly you and rattati are two peas in the same CoD pod.

The real issue which I have said literally over 100 times is that vehicles never had a true role. Honestly just from what you said you have made it into the top 5 of all vehicle pilots in my book thanks to you seeing the force multiplier position but that is an entirely different conversation.
Yes the promises of racial parity did not deliver but actual progress was made ther and anyone involved in the feedback threads saw that. Unfortunately it never cam true but that is what it is.
Post 1.7 there were some god mode fits but they were minimal and at that point were only balance issues which was a result of Rattati.
You can call me infantry only but at the point that I quit I was over 120 million SP and literally had everything anyone could dream of. I ran tanks, A/V, and even had some incredible fun with pythons because I did not follow the case on incubuses.
I really do not mean to sound like a Rattati fan boy but I actually am because he proved more drive and more balancing ability than anyone that ever ran this game along with being more equal to anyone than ever so I will argue those facts. |

As I have explained to other people CCP uses projects to have "spare developers" on staff. If they need them for another project then that project gets put on standby while the priority project is worked on and if there is no need for those developers then something new and exciting comes out but if like in the case of WoD those extra devs are called up for work too much then that project just fails.
Take a look at my thread that basically explains why Nova becoming a thing depends on the success or failure of VR and you will see exactly what I am talking about.

Day 1 back in 2012 i asked that jeeps get light plates shields light mods, dropships get MEDIUM shield plates MEDIUM mods and tanks get heavy shield plates heavy mods as a way to balance av swarms, forge The response was to please shut the **** up sooo that day i said same back to ccp and i refused to spend money on arrogant ccp |
