Having spent some time shooting at friendly vehicles from a dropship, I've realized that all vehicles MUST have a marker for FoF. Currently, you just see a vehicle, with no indication whether it's friend or foe. I'm sure being shot at annoys the vehicle drivers.

I would also like this. I took secondary gunner in a HAV the other day, and ended up waching the driver shoot a friendly tank that was maybe 30 feet away for about 5 minutes before the icon appeared and he stopped. I would have hopped out if I hadn't been able to shoot past the allied tank at some enemies.

+1 to this too. It can be really annoying with dropships due to the far ranges.

 +1
The maps helps to better identify them but sometimes they don't show appear on it at all.

Tip: If you're aiming at a vehicle (or anything), your crosshair turns red on an enemy, and will remain blue on a friendly. Some crosshairs it's hard to see, but if you're in a vehicle, it's really easy to tell (please stop shooting me with your tanks). The vehicle in question being partly masked by a structure or terrain can interfere with that, though, but out in the open, you shouldn't have much doubt as to whether it's friend or foe.

I can't test this, but it turns red on both friend and foe.

I've never seen it turn red on a friendly. It's how I identify which tanks and dropships to shoot down at a distance. It's been 100% reliable for me outside of the tank that's halfway covered by something, and you have to find the right spot on the tank to highlight to see the change to red.

Maybe it is a bug then.

I still agree with this though.

sometimes i get the secondary diagonal crosshairs when shooting at friendly targets but thats just a small glitch i think or there was splash dmg actually hitting an enemy... hard to say but the main crosshairs only go red on enemy targets thats for sure. additionally if you press the down directional button itll open up your map and you can check the friendly units and their distance to you quite easily if an enemy vehilces shows up on map it will either have a red mark or no mark at all but you can still follow their movements with the map however you are vunerable when using the map so be cautious.

Yep the dot does go red on an enemy for me but still think a marker would be good. Have noticed player team markers don't always show as well. So been relying on my targeting reticule so I don't end up pissing team members off by emptying a magazine into them.
