Those players who have UNUSED AURUM should have it transferred (with appropriate ratio, ofc) to Eve Online. That is real money given to CCP, and as AUR is just a form of unused money, it should not be zeroed when the Dust ends.
It is not realistic to request transfer to Legion/Legion2, as it is only theoretical and years away, plus there should not be any gap in client-provider relationship (which would happen).
This is a very sensible request. Please support it, and CCP please consider it. Thank you.

But i believe in dust you can get 40,000 AUR for 20$ when in EVE you can only get 4,000.
They would need to do some adjustment but i agree it would be a good gesture.

Unused money is unused money. Announcement of ending of service is proper cause to ask for reparative action - although not monetary refund.

OF COURSE with adjustments. Who here was asking for 1:1?
In winter-spring 2013 they multiplied all the prices and AUR amounts by 10x in order to have better granularity in Dust item prices. Before that, the prices were pretty much comparative.

All AUR ever purchased ever, would be used for things that would ultimately be useless at some point because the game could never last forever. So by that logic, all AUR I've ever spent should be compensated because the boosters I purchased produced SP that will ultimately be useless. Right? I guess that just doesn't make sense to me.

Well no Im curious. I mean....if I bought AUR and then a booster the day before the announcement, would I not be eligble for a refund? But if I bought a booster the day after the announcement, would I be eligible for the refund?
At what point is AUR spent "wasted" vs "not wasted"? Like, what would the cutoff be in your mind?

I don't care about goods and services bought with aurum. I don't care about my 100+ Omega Boosters - they are all lost and that is good.
I have only a little pocket AUR left. I am not advocating a real life money refund, that would be lololololloo lollero.
I AM advocating transfer of unused medium of real life money - the AUR. Which is in an environment managed by a corporation called CCP, which also has another linked environment called Eve, which has similar medium for similar purpose in there. The Eve AUR.

From CCPs perspective, Dust Aurum funds Dust payroll and Eve Aurum (helps to) fund Eve payroll.
If you bring a bunch of Dust Aurum into Eve (even at the adjusted rate), you will reduce the amount of Eve Aurum that is bought until all the Dust Aurum is consumed.
It's hard for me to explain but all the cash from Dust Aurum is likely already budgeted for in Shanghai and thus 'spent'. The same goes for Eve Aurum, but what you're suggesting would reduce the amount of cash from Eve Aurum purchases and in turn put a hole in the Eve budget.

Do they just slam the door in paying customers faces, tell them to switch systems, and hope they come back to spending more money? After all, CCP was the one that billed this game as a persisitent MMOFPS set in the EVE universe, with a 10 year plan and certainly no chance of a DUST 514-2
CCP is absolutely within their legal rights to say **** you, you get what you paid for, now buy more AUR.
Or they could try to find a way to carry purchases from this game into the next, since they, while different, are in essence the same game.
That all said, CCP has shown time and time again that they really just don't give a **** what we think, and will do what CCP will do regardless. I'm just glad I stopped purchasing AUR a long time ago.

I think they should sell us plex for Dust ISK and let us cash out.
I seriously regret keeping billions piled up in my wallet on Dust. Even at the last exchange rates I could pay for almost a year on my Eve subscription with what is now forever gone on my Dust toon.
As much as I said Dust is going to die I decided to keep a good deal of money Dust side due to some glimmer of hope. That gamble has now cost me a fair amount of money. |

AUR bought is money spent either way but if you have AUR leftover then that is money unspent and unused in the game.
No point using it now when the game will end since i do expect everything to be deleted apart from my name.
I have just under 160k of AUR which i will never use atm but if they do a transfer to the new game i get no real advantage from the get go in comparision to if they transfered my 102mil of SP or my 670mil ISK balance.
All i get is my AUR back to respend in the new game, that is no including all the AUR i bought and spent over the lifetime of this game which i do considered lost since i did use it.
If anything it would be more of a goodwill gesture if CCP did this and would also not upset the balance of the new like SP/ISK would.

That is assuming you actually still remember CCP in 2025 when they finally release the so called new game.
This new game is in "early stages of development"
WoD was in "early stages of development" for 10 years before it got canned.
Dust never even made it out of beta, it just had the label changed because Sony forced them too.
This is CCP we are talking about. Delivery is not something they accomplish well.
My guess is a 5 minute trailer at the upcoming fanfest followed by a solid year of silence.

That's another thing about the New Eden FPS for PC. CCP can directly challenge any chargebacks and they have the balls to do that. Sony of course is too scardy cat to challenge any chargebacks and give in too easily to consumer requests for refunds.
Don't get me wrong though. If you see that you are clearly wronged as a customer, you deserve a refund. But the Sony's fear of losing customers is so large that it can potentially enable some people to abuse that system. CCP doesn't have that fear and have often successfully fought back against chargebacks made by botters in Eve Online.

Unused aurum is not unused money. Your money was used. You used it purchase aurum. Don't make it sound like you didn't actually use your money, because you did, and got exactly what you paid for.
Also, everytime you made a purchase, surely you were aware that game wasn't going to be around forever. Every penny should have been spent under the assumption that it would eventually be for nothing.
I don't think there is a need for a transfer. Even if there was, it would be a huge pain in the ass for CCP to transfer the aurum over, as they have no way of telling which Eve characters and Dust characters are owned by the same person. Your best bet is to try a help ticket, but I doubt you will get what you want, as you don't really deserve it.
Also, I don't quite like your analogy.

Dust is more like a restaurant that has free steaks and sells really tasty barbecue sauce. You bought a lot of barbecue sauce, but the resteraunt is going to close in four months.
Instead of just putting the barbecue sauce you bought on the steaks at this resteraunt, you want the resteraunt to spend much time and effort changing their BBQ sauce recipe so it tastes good with a different restaurant's steaks.
At least, that's how I see it. Maybe you shouldn't have spent so much on barbecue sauce that you weren't ready to eat.

Unused aurum isn't unused money on my wallet. Unused aurum is unused aurum. Well daa-aa. Not so difficult. Again, why are you doing the game companys explaining here? Let them do it.
If there is a minor chance that a small part of purchase, in an unused in-game purchase medium, could be transferred to a comparative medium in a same companys alternative product, why should not ask for it? Why battle it?

Alright, let's go with your lunches model.
You still have 8 lunches left on your non-refundable lunch card, out of 10.
The restaurant is a nice little 20 seater dinner, spotty service, goofy hours but amazing food and pretty baller regulars. The DUSTy-spoon tells you that they're closing in 4 months for an unknown amount of time to rebuild the place, better, more up to code. You have 4 months to burn through those non refundable lunches.
You are unsatisfied with such a prospect, so are now arguing that since you already paid for the lunches at the DUSTy-spoon, you should be able to use them at the owners other establishment, mid-summer nights EVE; a high class sit down three course meal dining establishment. You continue to ask that it hould be possible on merit because you already paid for these lunches, disregarding you still have 4 months to eat them, and not even asking if you would be able to redeem the lunches at the replacement venue of DUSTy-spoon, the grilled PHOENIX (working title).
My friend your asking the wrong questions for something you bought.
I get you want to use the in game medium that exists IN NAME ONLY between games, but its just not going to happen.
The rest of us pretty much can guarantee it.
I respect and admire your willingness to try, but your literal best bet is to file a support ticket and see what Archduke and the EVE team say.

Hey tero, at least a discussion keeps this issue bumped.
Keeping in mind that there is going to be some sort of dust character tiered recognition for players for the next title,
CCP keeps track of your name, email account, and assets (such as the Dust Newsletter), not PSN
I think Aurum and Aurum bought assets that are applicable to the next game should be transferred. That would not only reward players and convince them to the sign up for next title, but also encourage players to spend more cash since they can trust in game assets will last.
Kerosinii makes a great point that Aurum is not soley a Dust Currency, but CCP currency bought for real money that is applicable across all of CCP's titles Gunjack, Valkyrie and Eve Online.
The only difference is the rates and what they buy.
Its like exhanging dollars for euros and then you find out you are in Greece. Buys different commodities for different prices, yet you can still go to France and spend the same currency.

The only difference is the rates and what they buy.
Its like exhanging dollars for euros and then you find out you are in Greece. Buys different commodities for different prices, yet you can still go to France and spend the same currency.
That is such a dishonest statement. You should be ashamed. Aurum in Dust was never ever advertised as a CCP-Games-wide currency that could be used on any of their games, and to ask them to start treating it like that now (when it most suits you) is a bloody disgrace.

Pull your head out of where the sun dont shine and read it again. Dont get upset over semantics and think.
Aurum is the real money bought currency of New Eden. Different games, different exchange rates, different items to buy but it is still in-game currency by the same name and purchase system across all the games bought for real world cash. You buy aurum from CCP on the PSN store for the same types of items, namely cosmetics and boosters as in Eve; not Dust514tm Ultra Special Credits.
What is the "bloody disgrace" about transferring it over especially to "Not project legion"? Especially since we have all of our account info on tranquility? Where is this massive injustice?
The only issue is that you are not allowed to tranfer aurum to other characters. If we get to keep our characters, why not keep the aurum that has already been paid for?

I think the people who kept Dust afloat, while knowing it was terrible (and being told it would potentially be fixed with enough funds) should definitely get something for their loyalty.
Maybe some free time in their other games... Lets be honest, these aren't really the people you'd want to screw over, as the more on-side they are, the more likely they'll continue to be paying customers in the future. |

My AUR is unused, it is unused money.
If i buy 40quid of AUR all that has happened is that my money has been converted to AUR, a different currency if you will.
The fact is AUR is worth something in whichever countries currency you bought it in, even if you spend half of your 40quid AUR packagae you still have 20quid of it left.

EULA has been mentioned.
Naturally, as per EULA, it is withing the game company's rights not to allow any form of reimbursement.
Yet, there is no harm in asking for a kind gesture (besides having to wade throught the swarms of imbeciles). Someone made a very good pointing out that those who would benefit from the said gestrure would be the most loyal customers who really have made this game on the profitable side.

Besides, it would be a moderately nice marketing move to grant the transfer to another product of the same company: That would be some incentive for non-eve dusters to actually try Eve Online, the ongoing product.
Now who's gonna argue with that it would be bad for CCP? Huh?

CCP are not a bank, you havn't deposited money into Dust and just converted it to a different currency. You bought Aurum, they provided Aurum. What you did with the Aurum after that was up to you, but as far as CCP are concerned they gave you what you paid for and the transaction is closed.
Microtransaction money (in this case Aurum) is Monopoly money. It has no use outside a game.
If you are thinking of it as anything like a real currency then you are a very uninformed consumer.

I guess it wouldn't hurt especially since now it is practically impossible to purchase new AUR. But as I said earlier, we must only count any unspent "purchased" AUR. Not "FREE" AUR like what we get from Daily Logins and special events since those don't technically count as unspent "money".

To anyone who calls for a reimbursement of AUR on any item they spent that AUR on is just being greedy. That is the equivalent of wanting to eat your cake and then having it. You can't have that cake if you already ate it.

To me it is unused.
I can say i have 100quid of AUR and that 1 penny will = x amount of AUR.
Does not matter what you say because that is how i view it, i have lost 160k of AUR roughly which will equal x amount of pounds and pence to me and that is what it is worth according to CCP who set the AUR to pounds ratio.
I do this with all my games, WoT 500 gold is worth 166pence which roughly is 3 gold to 1 pence.
I have lost this amount of AUR, even if i use it now i still lose it anyways, if it gets transfered great, if it doesnt well teaches me for believing in something.
What Kero is asking for is a goodwill gesture from CCP to everyone in the game, i back it because why not, nothing to lose and alot to gain.

The game was supossed to last 10 years though, so what the OP is asking is fair. Someone once said on the future of dust thread something along these lines: "CCP doesnt sell us EVE, nor do they sell DUST. They sell New Eden." We are someone in NE. This is not our money in Dust. This is the money we have in NE, and so we should be able to keep it past Dust-¦s death.

Well, this is obvious since Sony has a lot more to lose than CCP. CCP might get in the bad books of people who dont deserve it though, and given CCPs record of broken promises, Im more willing to trust Sony.

You might trust Sony financially but I suggest not trusting their service stability.

I'm sorry that you view microtransaction gems as holding any monetary value after their purchase and I hope you get a better understanding of their actual value some time soon.
