Modest as always,
Some after the project legion section dried up believed that there would not be a 2.0, I was never that person but I don't blame them I blame CCP as hard as it is to say. lack of intel.
Yet we have had plenty of time to prep.
I'm not the only one who invested stupid money into a game that honestly I feel was well worth it, spent the time in the game with a lot of you and also put forward suggestions and ideas to try and prolong the inevitable.
yet I feel like I'm a select few that has had there moneys worth, like I'm the only one during rouge wedding who read PC first, all assets transferred etc.
Right now all I can say is if you feel so strong about new eden then you have a matter of months to get $400 or -ú450 whatever to jump on the port/remake we all screamed and begged for and unleash all sorts of madness. get a paper round, wash some cars as its coming up to summer. be the merc of tomorrow today for godsake

Aeon Amadi wrote:This build will apparently get 40fps on BF4 on High Settings. Little pricey when compared to consoles, but it'll work well enough. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3HbtjX DUST? Running consistently on 40fps? Please. Just like CCP has planned on doing many things in the past, I'll beleive it when I actually see it and until then I'm not gonna hold my breath.
Now, about the questions:
1. No, I probably will in due time since there's been more and more games coming out that have caught my attention and many of my friends have already made that jump.
2. None. I do not intend to get myself a gaming PC capable of playing EVE just to chase after DUST. As I previously stated until I see an actual product on CCP's part, I don't intend to give chase to something that just as well could be cancelled before it's actually released... no matter how much Ilike and admitably am gonna miss this game.
3. Quite a few really: Price, space, educating myself on a subject I'm relatively oblivious and uninterested in, the fact that literally every single person I'm acquainted with intends or already has made the jump to PS4 and I have no reason to build/buy a PC, the fact that more and more games I'm interested in are coming to PS4, the fact that as a "console peasant" I genuinely enjoy and am more familiar/comfortable with consoles than I am with a PC... jumping to next question cus' I'm sure I could go on if I tried.
4. I'll keep an eye out for development news on this so called "improved version" but even if it becomes a reality the fact is there's pretty much no chance I'll ever get to play this new version. Also, wouldn't be surprised if they just shelved the project like they did with Legion... if they even really are working on getting it on PC.
5. I've got pretty much just 2 people I play with almost daily with and though I have them on my PSN I know that the moment one of us stops playing DUST that'll be the end of it... it's happened to me before. Asides from playing DUST, there isn't much else we have in common and we live on different parts of the world. Once DUST shuts down, the voices ofmy friends will be remembered but never heard from again for the rest of my lifetime.
And o7 to you Aero, your idea(s) were good. Too bad they never came true.
I can't believe I did it. 514 Logins

1) Do you already own a PS4 => Yes
2) How likely would you be to build a pc for this? => Already have one. I plan to upgrade my gtx760 for the next nvidia gen when it comes out this year.
3) What are your main concerns with building a pc? => Blowing everything up? XD Not that hard, just follow a youtube vid ^^
4) Do you still plan to follow development? => Yeap. Haven't played Dust for month and I'm still here checking for news.
5) Do you still plan to hang out with your corp mates? => I wish we'll rebuild DMG if this supposed Dust 2.0 ever comes out. People I've met IG are the reason why I kept playing during 3 years. Pretty sure most of them will get a pc to play Dust again !

Yes
2) How likely would you be to build a pc for this?
Not a chance. My laptop might run it thought. *Fingers crossed*
3) What are your main concerns with building a pc?
I will get all my life sucked out of me with those awesome games, so for my own safety I restrict myself to consoles only games. That way I have to "sit down to play" instead of looking at facebook one minute and playing a match the next.
4) Do you still plan to follow development?
Of course.
5) Do you still plan to hang out with your corp mates?
Hell yeah, we will try to discuss what game we should all move to, and what platform. We will all keep in touch by a wassap group too. I thank DUST for being the vessel that allowed me to meet so many awesome people.

My main concern with playing a game on the PC is the controls. I will not be able to use a keyboard or mouse because my hands are too big to play games using a keyboard.
Whether or not I actually build a gaming PC just so that I can play this new FPS being developed will depend entirely on the game itself. I'm looking for a game that will be a challenge, will be highly competitive, and will require various levels of skill to be good at. You do know that you can use any controller on PC with the right programs, yes?
I plan to use my Wii U pro controller because I hate kb/m, disadvantage or no.
I am actually happy because there was no way I would waste money on a PS4. Three years in and there still is nothing of real value to play on it.

Just because CCP decided to make this "dust 2.0" for PC doesn't mean I'm gonna cry and b!tch about it. It just gives me a bigger incentive to get inventive with what parts/money I have.
In the end, memories are all that matter, the thrill of going from 2d to 3d,the endless crawls through dungeons searching for items, the eternal struggle of not flipping your sh't when the princess is in another castle. Such a positive outlook. What are you doing as part of the Dust community?
Also, you are 100% correct. The memories. They are why I play and also why I have a games room in my house incorporating games and systems I have played/owned since 1982.

Will be upgrading the PC soon, but definitely not for Dust 2.
May play Dust 2 if it's not a total piece of marketing kittenshit, but CCP's craftsmanship and design choices in the past leave me with little hope. More importantly, imo there's nobody in the company who has the balls and the chops to truly connect Dust 2 to New Eden, which was the entire reason for buying my first console & being here from 2012 on.
Like others have said, CCP's actions have left a bad taste in my mouth.

I own a PS4.
I have a pretty good gaming PC that I am probably about to upgrade for the Oculus. This is assuming the Oculus hits a decently lower price on ebay or they do a lower price point soon after release. I am not spending $1100 on a video card and a headset. I also feel like Project Morpheus may be a better fit for me anyway.
I have already carried on hanging out with friends and corp mates on both the PS4 and the PC.
I will not be playing any more CCP products. My Eve account expired yesterday and I unsubscribed from all of the email lists. I have no desire to give money to a company that repeatedly mistreats customers in the way CCP has. Dust was a fun ride and I do not regret the money I spent. It is unfortunate that CCP was absolutely their own worst enemy.
I wish them the best of luck going forward, me being gone will not affect their wallet in the slightest. |

1) Yes 2) On a scale of 1 - 10, -100. If I built any PC, I would play Star Citizen and be part of that universe. I saw enough people who bought a PS3 just for Dust to be able to trust CCP. I won't even play anything they put on the PS4, even if it was free. 3) Time, knowledge needed, dealing with cheaters, lack of standards. I have played just a little on this laptop when it was new, playing older games I know it could handle, and even then, performance was all over the place. I played 2 brand new games with little problems, then played games 1 to 2 years older, and had to spend dozens of hours just get get them to play. One was to the point of being unplayable despite the fact that my computer had already handled games that were more performance heavy. I don't have time for that. I want to start a game, and play the game. I want to purchase a game, pop it in, and expect it to work without having to trouble shoot for 8 hours, with the only fix being a user made file that the publisher won't create and ensure the safety of. I don't have any need or desire for the mods and whatnot that PC enables. I understand the draw, but I just want to play the f*cking game... 4) Too early to say at this point. I doubt it, because seeing what CCP has done up close for 3 years has left a horrible taste in my mouth. 5) Yes. We set up an off shore rig a long time ago, and most had already moved on. I met some great people through Dust, and plan on staying in touch with them long after CCP could give two squats about us. As usual OEK and I almost exactly the same on this... The Hive is strong I would add that I have no interest in playing multiplayer games on PC if they are competitive. Co-Op sure, I like working with people. Competitive scenarios in PC gaming are a rapid downwards spiral of assness that I don;t enjoy the experience of. While much of the Dust community is fun... I've seen enough of the not fun to diminish my desire to play on PC. While PS3 had challenges for the Dev team to deal with... the removal of some of those constraints also worries me. Sloppy coding can run along way when you can push the onus on to the user to upgrade/meet requirements. This is not a shot at the Dev team, I have respect for them. It's more about the corporate structure and how bottom line can drive the way development goes.

.
1) Yes I own a PS4, and I absolutely love it. I have a Black Ops 3 clan at the moment and I will absolutely try and turn them onto Dust 2.0 if I try it and the fevors of Planetary Conquest and all are what I experienced on the PS3 but beyond( eg. taking out installations, raiding, Planet Defense, Titan Boarding). My PSN is saphireblue-7
2) I plan on it :) Will certainly be looking and asking all of you PC bosses for builds and questions once the time comes and the first specs are released. Have half a grand saved at the moment, will also be needing one and a laptop for College coming this fall :). Also want to play Eve :)
3) My biggest concerns are just me ordering everything, and then dropping my motherboard or something lol. That and I'm not mechanically inclined at all, so I don't want everything to melt and all because my fan doesn't heat everything.
4) Yes, I will follow this game and community to the end of my gaming career. Absolutely will follow this. Will probably play Valkryie ( But not pay anything because my investment is in Dust). Plus I want a link to Eve.
5) Absolutely. Have many of my GAM and 0H homies in numerous chats, and I still need to catch up with a few more vets :) The people in Dust are hella chill, can't wait to kill y'all with my Nova Knives come Dust 2.0

Hey, just came back to check how this game was doing. Kinda hit me when I learned it was ending, but, honestly if you guys wanted to keep this game on console you should have petitioned Sony. It's Sony's rules i believe that kept this game off the PS4. CCP wants/needs to be able to update the game and add and change it as it goes.
Unfortunately Sony does not allow companies to do this without paying for it. That means companies typically transfer that cost to its players as DLC. Just my opinion, miss the game, but honestly after being on PS4 trying to come back was painful, the game was very lacking. Sad to see it go. Miss you guys!
I'm right behind you...

I still don't understand why people are so against a gaming pc. For less than the cost of a ps4 you can build a gaming pc that can run every game you can think of on medium to high settings, it will cost less in the long run (you are already paying for your internet but there is no playstaion+/xbox gold to pay for) and you can easily hook it up to your TV. Throw in the ability to use any controller, xbox, xbox 360, xbone, ps3, ps4, and even steam controller and I see no reason not to just embrace the pc. |

You're severely downplaying the role money plays in our lives.
I think you're really demonstrating your lack of ingenuity and logical thinking. Search pawn shops/online,find cheap consoles. Everything is saved online nowadays so save data isn't totally lost if it dies. Just take 10-20$ out of your paycheck every month or every other, and bam you have a new console.
Like I said before, get inventive. think. Learn to plan, learn to save, learn to control the flow of money.
I mean come on,my mom is somehowing getting tons of home improvement done that costs a good chunk of cash, how does she do it? She finds her chances, plans for the future. Because I know cleaning houses shouldn't be netting her enough money to have four TVs,a full kitchen, fancy washer and dryer and all the other countless investments and innovations she's got going on.

1) Yes, I own a PS4 2) No, I'm not building a gaming PC for one game, especially when I don't even know if it will turn out to be good. 3) Main concerns are cost, knowledge, and effort required. I'm seriously not going to do it for one game whose previous incarnation was a disappointment. 4) Yes, I still plan to follow development. 5) I don't have corp-mates, but I still talk to friends I've made on here.
While I love Dust's PVP experience, I already moved on months ago to Destiny for it's PVE experience. I've kind of wanted that game since back when I tried the beta, but it was pretty obvious to me that it would severely lack content, so I held off on it until I could get a package with 3+ DLCs for one regular retail price, and I've been loving it ever sense. The story is garbage because of development shake-ups scrapped much, but the hidden lore in the "grimoire cards" is absolutely enthralling, the combat feels great, and in addition to story missions, there is a free-roaming patrol, cooperative strikes, and long mechanically complex raids requiring coordination between 6 players. There's also PVP, but it's just ok, and not really my thing. I don't think anything will really replace Dust's PVP experience for me, but I can live with that. I know it's popular to hate on Destiny for a lot of good reasons it earned at launch, but I'm more excited about it's future than Dust's at this point. I'll still be on the lookout for the possibility of a PS4 port though; it doesn't need to have PC-level graphics, and as much as people don't want the game restrained by a console, it's not like the future of Dust will be Star Citizen in terms of scope.
I notice there are some PC elitists here with their heads so far up their asses that they think all console players are man-children and teens with no disposable income and therefore no means of supporting a game, as if that's the only reason anyone would not want to invest the time in building a gaming PC. Not only is that insulting, it's also factually wrong. The producer of Warframe, originally a PC free-to-play game, said that warframe was a success on PS4. There's also the people who spent over $100 on Dust. so the idea that console gamers just have no money is just spiteful mouth-excrement.

But man, I'm excited for the pc part picker threads once we get the first set of specs for the new game. Yeah is the case necessary? Would any case do? Or does it need to be a specific size? The case isn't strictly speaking necessary, you could actually build something yourself if you're handy. The case type has to support the motherboard type (just so the screws line up) but there is quite a bit of selection and variation within that category. Lmao are you kidding me ? The case is very important. It doesn't have to be so pricy, you can get a decent one for ~$60 that has enough fans, is big enough for big GPUs and has all the USB 3.0 and HDD/SSD rack needed ^^ A good case will allow you to cool down your pc very efficiently. Don't get an ITX motherboard if you plan on gaming, get an ATX that is not too cheap (~$90) from msi, gigabyte or asus. A metal box with holes and a single fan is about as effective as a specially designed case with 10 fans. Diminishing returns.
