1. As many of the Elites like to point out here on these forums, SP is no substitute for skill, or in my case, game knowledge. Assuming that the core concepts of Dust are retained; suit fitting, damage profiles, perishable assets etc, then I would happy to lose everything save for my name and my history, safe in the knowledge that I know this new game like it were an old game, which to me is an edge but not an advantage over the newbros, and that feels like a fair compromise between us Vets and the time we have spent here and the NPE for Dust v2.0 still being a viable experience.

There should be some kind of booster that correlates to the amount of sp you have at the time of the transfer. Someone with 100 million sp would be able to earn back that amount with these passive boosters in 6 months to a year
That way the playerbase grows at an even rate, but those who have dedicated years to the game already can still feel a sense of additional progression.
Ultimately it would be extremely boring if you could skill into everything day 1 of the new game. The influx of new players would leave immediately if they were constantly being protostomped. We really don't need a repeat of what happened to Dust 514 originally.

The Worst Case Scenario is such a breach of operating-in-mutual-good-faith that it's be a 5 for me.
That said, I tend to doubt the worst case scenario will happen; and there's so many different ways player migration can go it's hard to discuss at this point.
Like for example, I'd be 100% fine with kind-for-kind exchanges of old SP for whatever progression looks like in Dust 2.0 .

I don't believe a port will ever happen but I'm at the point where I think all SP and assets should be wiped, with AUR being refunded back to the player.
Everyone should start off with a clean slate, minus the cash they've already put in.
If any of my posts seem severely negative, it's probably because they are.

If i could keep my assets/BPOs i wouldn't be too annoyed, although i think CCP should try keep players assets and stats if they move to PC. all the details are stored on the TQ server so there shouldn't be any reason to wipe them as long as we register with same email as our PSN.
For new players to 'keep up' i suggested that if it went to PC then EVE palyers with a sub got increased passive SP boost as well as some new items and i think new pllayers in general should get 2x active and passive SP gain for the first 60days gametime. they do something similar in EVE also with a free attributes remap

Swear I've already answered this one but... I wouldn't mind to be quite honest. I have to start on equal footing with any new players that I don't risk alienating them through sheer SP supremacy.
I already have mechanics knowledge and experience from this massive beta. That's got to be enough of an edge already.

to me, it would be irrelivant if they transfered anything from old characters to new characters if the game was bad. I would play a brand new 'dust' if the game was fun, whether or not i keep anything.
on the subject of transfering unspent aurum vs spent aurum, I would say either transfer and refund all aurum, or transfer no aurum, no halfway, aurum prices and items might be completely different from original dust to whatever incarnation it takes next. In game benfit and fasion and whatnot could be completely different. CCP already has the money from the aurum whether you spend it or not. |

I would not have a problem. I think it would be only fair to the new players etc. However, I wouldn't mind a little to salute to our past, something lore related, maybe a skin, or some banner.
Furthermore, maybe some percentage of the arum spent converted into booster would be a nice gesture of good will. |

You'd have to grind to spec into fighters anyway.... a few boosted SP weeks early on and maybe a booster for a little bit and boom. You are set to fly your fighters forevermore.

Not if I respecced all of my current SP. I'd have more than enough to max out pretty much any skill necessary.
I would gladly render myself incapable of infantry combat because I would be in the sky all the time anyway. Just Pilot suits and Fighters for me.

There still should be some limitations but if they were to port and make a new game with this type of depth then this would work
I think I favor a complete reset of skills etc. because of this games current failings.
New player retention is critical and pushing them away because the game asks them to get constantly stomped before seeing real progress is not going to work |

It's a risk I'm willing to take so that the player base can grow. I'm more in favor of splitting the players up but everybody keeps saying the player base is too small (for 3 years now and it's only gotten smaller since people started saying that) to do that and CCP is too chicken sh!t to bite the bullet and do it; so resetting SP is the only other option. It's not going to be nearly as effective as splitting the players cause you know there's going to be plenty of people that'll drop a bunch of money to be running full proto within the first month. Then the broke no-lifers will have it the next month so it's obvious resetting SP would only be a bandage on a wound that needs stitching.
Most of what I see around here is just a bag of dicks in need of some kicks.
Dust really needs its high sec.

Assuming the game had hope of progression and those who had played Dust for more than five minutes got some cool skins to show their dedication to the game... and also assuming the port actually freakin' worked and didn't lag every game... Eh, I'd still be slightly frustrated... but... oh, yeah. AND assuming we got to keep the skins and or BPO's we had, THEN and only then would I consider it worth bothering with. If all those conditions were met... I'd put the rating at a 1, maybe a 2. That's a lot of buts though, too many conditions to meet, and given CCP's track record with the game... I dunno if they'd be able to pull that off. The SP and the Isk is something I can always get again, but it takes a fun game to be worth it, and redoing something like that in the current state of Dust? Eh... I'd probably pass...

If we are talking about a new game completely, then a fresh start for all players, would be the fairest, most sensible decision...
For returning Dust Vets who transfer their Clone to the new war zone (as it were), then a returning vets pack would be nice and very much appreciated...
You'd hope, that the immersion of EVE's perpetual universe would also stretch to it's Dust Mercs too...
- The worst possible thing they could do, would be to completely ignore and delete all progress of Dust Vets, only to find the exact same stuff in the new game!!!

I would react with "Oh look another of the hundreds of games that I liked the trailer and never once played."
No way in hell I put up with getting cash grabbed all through beta only to be asked to start over because they finally came to the realization that they can not make it work on the system they chose because they blundered it up so bad.
I would say screw it and sell my Eve assets for cash just to cash out a small percent of what was spent. I would then celebrate my ban with that little bit of cash and some on top.
