DUST Search - Prime example of how Mass Drivers and PLC's break this game

The match went like this;

We reached the objective first, got the hack and the match was really fun we kept the hack but we were dying some and they were dying some and I was doing pretty well with my alt and basic / frontline gear, but then the tide changed! We were assault by 4 jumpy splash damage weapon users and at that point, I just sort of sat back and watched.

We had then their MCC totally down to its shield and were up by 14 clones but when the mass drivers began to appear and jumpy suits and plasma cannons, the numbers quickly changed! They got the hack and kept it and cloned us out by 48 clones!

It's easy mode. They said "oh crap we're losing time to be cheap" and I've never seen so many jumpy mass driver players at one time and jumpy plasma cannon players at one time it looked like a child's birthday party and all the kids were jumping in a ball pit!

Just because you run around with a shotgun or an explosive splash damage weapon doesn't make you a good player, in my opinion it makes you a chump!

Mass drivers are area denial weapons so as long as someone is doing well with them without myos, they aren't considered scrubs or ruling the game. Same with plasma cannons. The are for AV. I love my PLC and have never made a jumpy fit while using one. Jump height modifications can exist, just not in their current form. 3 myos gets you over walls and yanks you outta combat like an ejector seat. Max height should be just enough to get on top of small crates and battlefield features.

These players are not good, they're scum. Scrubs if you ask me, players who will do anything to win, and CCP? Well, they have just ruined the game by allowing this sort of absurd garbage. This is the sort of reason that players who would otherwise invest in what could be a good game, simply won't. But I'm sure there are plenty who would invest in getting the gear to do this sort of idiocy and they will end up leaving too, when everyone else is fed up with trying to play against them.

You can only fit three and ccp fixed the stacking penalty on my min ass I can get 524 melee damage give or take a few that gets you from flat ground to the top of the box but just barely. However I do feel that you shouldn't be able to shoot while falling and that would fix all this bitchiness

I think by themselves they are ok but, then add the mass driver or even flaylock and they get an unfair advantage because you don't even have to aim all that well. Now, one thing that annoys the heck out of me is that they can continuously jump. They never get tire so they can simply jump over and over. I think a middle ground approach to the problem is to have some sort of penalty for jumping after a height higher than normal. Maybe a delay of sorts before you can jump again. This way you still get to jump but can't spam the jump over and over and landing puts you in peril at least for a few seconds.

Seriously, ignore the title and read the link below all the way through. It's a very good read. I'm not trolling. Read it and notice how it points out so many different viewpoints on perceptions of game balance. Link Zen in this game comes from understanding that not everyone will be happy, so just run whatever the hell you want and stop whining about what other people run. In my personal opinion, anything allowed by game rules that aren't considered cheats, hacks, or exploits are all fair game.
