Receiving feedback on the Daily Mission system and what we can do to make it better overall. Feedback sought is mostly toward additional features that would improve client experience and general QoL (Quality of Life) changes. Thread will be updated frequently. When suggesting ideas for the revamp please include, in a separate paragraph, the reasons why you feel that the addition would be advantageous. Please also include considerations of how the suggestion could be abused/exploited.
Ideas currently being considered: - Technical capability for specific/dynamic mission parameters. - Technical capability for community-wide missions. - Ability for client to - within reason - choose a certain criteria of missions.

Being able to choose some kind of "path" or "specialization" then getting missions that lean you towards the dirrection of objectives needed to become adequate at what you have chosen, would be great.

- Missions which adjust themself to the skill level of the player. (I.e a fresh noob won't get "20 Vehicle Assists", or "Kill 60 enemies")
- Persistent Missions unique to Acadamy players, with a free respec (and more?) as a reward for completion all 10. (I.e You won't graduate the Acadamy until competing all missions). <- This would help NPE greatly in my eyes. |

Faction Invasion Missions e.g. participate in x number of battles for a chosen side. Participating in battles with a rival faction erodes 'x' number of battles (and leaving a battle counts against you). Only given payout at downtime for this daily mission if you hold the max 'x' number of battle participations which satisfies the bonus daily mission payout.
EVE players invest into some type of I-HUB infrastructure to increase the NPC reward to Dusties via their downtime payout from the (faction participation) daily mission for sticking with a particular side.

If we could get counter-hacks to count towards the objective hack missions that'd be nice. Maybe even hack assists, if you're feeling generous. When you need to complete that mission for a key or gear you really like, it really sucks when you only just barely missed getting the hack by a fraction of a second. Trying to get those hacks during the Krin's Salvage Run was especially tedious, because everyone stacked kincats to try to get there first. If the objectives didn't flip or I didnt get there first, I was screwed that match. And I'm sure there are some jackasses who waited for a point to flip to hack it back, so that they can get that point toward their mission, even though that risked putting us closer to a loss. Encouraging us to counter-hack if we're able would do wonders.
How these things could be abused: Very obviously if you've got a buddy on the other team you can constantly hack an objective back and forth for free points, but we don't see that in mormal game play as is, so I don't see it as a potential threat. Letting hack assists count I don't really see as detrimental at all. If anything, it encourages you to hack with other people. Both to get the hack done faster and more safely and to get them points to their mission reward. It also let's people relax on trying to get the hack themselves, so if someone is able they can stop hacking to shoot back, and still be rewarded for the assist.
The thought that Dust 514 may one day be the game we dreamed it to be.

IMO, faction warfare needs to be handled entirely separately of the daily mission system. I'd rather players make the content for Faction Warfare rather than it being mechanically generated. I will, however, add it to the list out of fairness.

1) optimization, fix the lag
2) make uplinks explode if above a certain elevation. Utilize the redline mechanic for equipment. (If possible) Get rid of roof camping
3) fix other annoying glitches
4) fix the dik store. Add more items
5) communication communication communication What's in the near and distant futures fir dust.
Screw daily missions. Fix important stuff. |

Is it possible to make certain missions persistent like events? If so this would be a great tool for the NPE as you could assign a number of persistent missions upon character creation that would stick with them as they make their way into DUST.
Things like: Obtain 100 kills with a Non-starter Suit. (if this is a possible tag) Obtain 10k WP Join a Player Corporation (?)
This way NPE can have long term goals to work toward, that could also help steer them to better paths in DUST.
Other missions that would be interesting: Complete / Win 1 match in X game mode

In addition to this, could we have persistent newbie missions to get them to try out different suits/roles to see which playstyle they like best? One batch of missions could be scout oriented, another logi, another slayer, etc. This probably already falls in line with the 'specialist mission' thing that was already suggested, but having role oriented newbie missions to help them settle into what they may enjoy the most sounds like it could be good.
The thought that Dust 514 may one day be the game we dreamed it to be.

Not sure how my opinion will factor into this, but I believe that your daily missions and what to do aren't the issue, it's what you get out of them.
For instance, when I was active, I would get missions like "kill 62 enemies" and my reward? CP and a bunch of caldari assault suits. I don't even use caldari assault suits. This bit right here is faulty as new players are hence tempted to invest their SP into a suit they may not even like just to use them. My opinion on this, let players choose their rewards:
For example:
Say you get a mission like kill 25 enemies: At the end of the match, you can go to your daily missions and choose any ONE reward such as:
Extra AUR Extra ISK bonus SP bonus suits/weapons (and ability to select what race and class, but not tier)
I propose this for a few various reasons. Chief among them being that sometimes people don't want what you give them. Half of my suits in my inventory I never used, so I had to sell them, which took a hell of a long time. It's better if they can then decide upon completing a mission what they want, to an extent.
I have a few other theories and ideas that could help people get more interested in dust, ya know, aside from "hurka durka fix the laaaaaaag" and what not, but those aren't for this discussion I'll assume.

Remove Kill Assists in a Vehicle: Reasoning: Given the power of turrets its nearly impossible to achieve with out being a gunner for somebody else. Players are required to find a seperate individual who has invested sp and is willing to shell out hundreds of thousands of their isk for your mission.
Remove Buy X amount of instant booster for 1 key/ 1 day Active Booster:
Reason 1: You are paying more aurum than its return value. 400 aurum is the cheapest so when there is a mission that has say instant boost 4 times to get a 1 day booster, thats a minimum of 1,600 aurum. 1 day Active booster cost 1,00 aurum.
Reason 2: It is directly pay to win. If you dont pay you dont complete the mission. And if you want to change you mind you still pay 100 aurum.

Something along those lines. Encourages both playing a role for a role specefic reward. Also a player does not necerrarily have to be tied to playing that suit. You can get the same kills in a caldari assault if you go for the gallente assault missions if you want to equip the calass with the AR.
It places some player choice in what they ant to compete for and what rewards they want to get.

1. Pay to re-roll 'individual' missions at 10aur, not 100 each time!!!...
2. Removal of Vehicle Kill Assists. Worst mission of them all, just get rid of it...
3. Removal of Servant... Or!... Massively increase the reward for this mission (bit of a naughty money grab, as is)...
3. Less 'strongboxes' and more 'keys' as rewards. I have nearly 5000 boxes. The ratio of keys to boxes, is silly...
4. Weekly missions that earn LP, but not in FW...
(I'm not at proto level yet, so I don't play FW. It would be nice to potentially earn a few points outside of FW, in pub matches too)
5. Weekly Missions: War Points Acquired / Matches Completed / Damage Dealt (Infantry or Vehicle - vehicle total is way higher) / Spawns from pads / Ammo Resupplied
6. Monthly Missions for a Skin / Quafe Weapon / Militia BPO. Reward is random each month...

How you all can see i stated all ideas on basic point count. Because i thing it is better if we will go for points instead of kill and points. I think these ones are great even with names of mission. But i leaving that open for better sugestion.

Iv never been able to get 19 vehicle kill assist for my pyrus ck.o and id like it if they change it to have something else like sp total or kill 60 or something.
Maybe rewards can more random as to different type of ways to earn the same item. Like if i cant get it by 50 kills then maybe get the same item by getting 5000 war points.
Getting kill assists while in a vehicle is hard cuz its too easy to kill people while in a vvehicle.
Starter Fit Suits are OP :-)

Create a new type of strongbox. Call it a something else that is easily differentiated from the Encypted Strongbox like... Cargo Unit.
Cargo Units can be opened without a key and contain 2 - 3 pieces of random std or advanced gear, with a small chance of dropping proto. They could become a new mission reward. I know sometimes I see a piece of gear in the mission rewards and think "meh...". Maybe a random chance at several gear pieces would be more attractive.
Perhaps the Cargo Unit drop table could also include warbarge components.

Below the current Daily Mission for completing other missions, have a Community Mission that lasts 7 - 14 days. Think similar to the Million Clone Challenge event, but on a smaller scale.
Here is an example... The Community Mission is "Destroy 5,000 HAVs". The individual mission for players would read "Destroy 10 HAVs". If you complete the individual mission and the community completes the mission, everyone who participated gets a large reward. We're talking millions of ISK, 10 keys, etc. etc.

We have had been awarded AUR as part of completing event missions. Can we have daily missions that award small amounts of AUR?
"Earn X kills" would reward some SP and like 20 AUR. It doesn't sound like much, but plus the daily AUR it could mean someone one day affording a SKIN.

Random idea that could be incorporated into the system.
Daily Missions (Increase to 15):
10 are your regular pool of missions Remove or Limit 'Savant' Missions, Limit to 1, or move to Daily Rewards (More on that below)
Kill Assists in a vehicle - Change to Vehicle Kill Assists...makes life much easier on everyone without removing the only vehicle participation mission other than "Destroy Installations" missions
Earn x SP in a single Match - Make sure amounts on this mission are doable by any role without use of boosters (I've had earn almost 30k SP in a single match before)
Long Range Kills (Kills at Greater than or equal to 50 Meters)
CQC Kills (Kills at less than or equal to 50 Meters)
Instances of Triage/Guardian Points
Headshot Kills
5 missions for your race/role from pools, example pools given below
Amarr Kills with Laser Weaponry
