My KD/Lifetime WP is a testament to my full, and at times stupid, commitment to this role. I could never participate in past Dust514 events- you see I donGÇÖt really shoot things . I, like other logis, have longed all these years for a special logi event. Maybe one like the rest of you got - the reward being an officer rep tool you could name .... "kitten mittens repair tool" btw. But alas. Never about us. No glory. No challenge.. Until now. As you can understand when Cypher, recently appointed Tyrant King of Opus, told me about a logi event I was very excited. Yay. This event would bring me back online after letting go of this game several months ago. I'm sad. This event is dumb. It has nothing to do with being a logi. The 10K WP task isn't even linked to anything meaningful (e.g. equipment related points). We have a healing stat at the end of every match- we could have at least done something with that. In my humble logi opinion the "logi event" is dumb. Meow. Crazy Cat Lady xx I try really hard and die.

We may never have that capability with the current iteration of DUST 514. ahem #PortDust514 ahem That being said, this is the best CCP can create for logis considering their limited tools available to them. WPs are actually attainable to logis without having to swap roles entirely and it's a damn decent bit better than earning 514 friggn' kills. The repair tool reward will be the first non-militia repair tool BPO, as far as I know. TL;DR - It's not perfect, but "some is better than none" as they say. Become the phoenix, rise again

Dont get me wrong- love the positivity and I agree about being grateful for logi-event at last.. but honestly (coming from a super-optimistic logi person) this isn't really good enough I try really hard and die.

They are currently not set up to differentiate between the types of WP. A while back Rat Man stickied a thread full of all kinds of cool ideas for daily missions, some of which are Logi centric. I have my fingers crossed that with 1.3, we will finally see daily missions that consist of real Logi work. Top the leader board with 0 kills and 0 deaths is one I am hoping to see. Once that is in place, then a true Logi event can be had. Until then, I'm just glad they even acknowledge Logis exist. Good luck boycotting the event, just saying. One day is nothing for most people. But an event that requires only 10k WP and lasts a whole week? It'd be too easy to accidentally complete the event. Good luck getting people to stay off Dust for the entirety of the event when it offers a BPO, free AUR, and is easy as **** to complete. The thought that Dust 514 may one day be the game we dreamed it to be. It fills you with Determination!

As it stands, you'll never see any original event anymore, unless "Daily Missions 2.0" becomes a thing. Right now, events are only done through screened daily missions, giving you the reward instantly. There are no repair, revive, whatever missions available, so a true logi event is impossible with the current system. *Scouts United* Gk.0s & Quafes all day.

So long as what that is is fun and constructive to winning battles. Just rewarding warpoints doesn't really do that, as everything earns warpoints, so you can just play how you always do. I actually consider the fact that logis earn more warpoints than other roles to be a problem, not something to celebrate. They can track warpoints, kills, assists and hacks. Could they not have approximated equipment warpoints by subtracting 50wp for each kill, 25 from each assist, and 100 from each hack, from the total warpoints gained? Still, nice to have a logi event. And it doesn't seem bad, just maybe could be better.

Hey Darth :) You are right, I haven't spent time enough time on the game/forums recently to be properly across the CPM's position on this event. This post is a response to the 'big picture' issue. As someone who has been desperate for a logi event my whole dust life- its really disappointing. Yep, I hear the limitation and constraints of events being tied to missions now days- and that we don't have logi specific missions (also disappointing but outside the scope of this thread).- and yeah you guys did the best you could do with the current mission set up. And lovely to have a BPO rep tool for those who want one. But the big picture point is- it just isn't good. As a logi event it misses the mark. As the first logi even in three years (or however long we have all been here).. It is a huge disappointment. Could we not have a little bit of attention from the developers and did something more than a 'glorified mission'? Like I said, there is existing stuff/data that may have been utilized. When the 'officer weapon naming' event was on the developers built something special especially for it. It just sux Darth :( xx ps. I read this thread and know that I have now become one of those complainers who I always hated- sad times. I try really hard and die.

The CPM expressed our disappointment in the conditions at the moment but there is a lot going on behind the scenes. Any time and effort we would have taken to make this event awesome would have delayed Warlords 1.3, so we opted for that to take priority. Namely because - and there are no promises being made here - there is an opportunity to include more with the Daily Mission system and address some of these issues, in theory. With this event we did what we could with what we had. As stated previously the CPM expressed disappointment because of the conditions and we really wanted this to have more, but this is what we had to sign off on for technical reasons. Reading through your original post and subsequent posts, I can say this: - Your ideas are noted and your feedback is highly valuable. - The 'algorithms' that CCP use to track things like that back in day (prior to the Daily Mission system) were all done manually. That is painstakingly arduous and difficult and is why it took so long for rewards to be given for events in the past. I hope that offers a bit of enlightenment. Honestly, I only came back to this game once the Crimson Harvest started, and it's the events now that keep me playing. I already almost quit again, but I will definitely play this event. A step is a step. The main thing about healing given or whatever is that your team kind of has to suck for that to happen. I mean, how am I supposed to get 10,000 healing given if my team doesn't take that much damage? It's also completely unfair for people who prefer shields. In order to help out the logis who need to be healing players would have to completely change their style to benefit everyone, but themselves. Also, I feel like people are completely disregarding the second part of the event. I played a couple of matches today using my main suit (Cal-Logi) and the first three matches I was like 1700 wp 1300 wp 1500 wp but all of my blueberry team mates were at like 500 wp or less. I don't like getting at the top the board because I think that will place me on a higher matchmaking tier, which means I'll probably have to actually try playing competitively if I wan't to stand a chance of staying profitable, instead of just messing around (win or lose) like I normally do. So then I decided to run around just with knives and do nothing but hack and I got 1200 wp. That's when I realized this is just a grindy event and not really a logi event. Then I got bored and quit. when she was good, she was very good indeed, but when she was bad she shot you in the face.

I'm not a Logi and I claimed the prize without once doing any Logi work. I in fact do want to get into Logi and am looking forward to using the rep tool as part of that.
