My previous efforts to have CRU's totally removed from the battlefield have failed.
Either ccp loves to CRU camp themselves or they just dont see it like me in the video below...

What I am seeing is players trying to hack the cru and once they do there whole team becomes CRU camped.
CRU are suppose to help not make a fight 1 sided, that hardly seems right or even a fair fight.
What you need to do is remove them and give your players benefits of carrying and dropping uplinks for the team.
But once again dont listen to me, just keep letting the CRU training camp continue.
Those are my thoughts with a video in case you all dont currently see it as an issue, like myself.

I haven't played dust properly in a long time, therefor when im online for a couple of matches, i dont really notice these small details, but do they still have the passive scan feature on CRU's?

Yes the passive scan is still on cru's but honestly it does not seem anyone even notices it or cares about it. They just keep spawning until the cru is hacked back.

The way I see it is: camping a cru at the enemy ground spawn, totally lame and scrubby, camping a cru at a contested point where no one is actually forced to spawn, fair game.
So if you're forcing the enemy team to spawn there (because there is literally no where else for them to go)...that's bad. If it's an obvious trap and there are plenty of safe spawns yet the lemmings keep running off the cliff, sounds like a great deal not your problem. |

I see your point but this was rather a have no where else to spawn issue rather than mcc or ground spawn.
Since cru's are easily found and always in the same spots it makes for the worst possible way of getting your mercs on the battlefield safely.

Ok it might be bad but the way i see it is at least your team spawns together away from the enemy. Having a better chance then spawning on a cru camped by 6 enemy at close range.
Smart deploy could use a once over but I see it as a feature already in the game that could solve some issues, sure it will need a few tweaks but they could get it working very effectively.

Suddenly, EMP orbitals look very attractive.
But no, leave point objectives.
Without them, clearing a city will come down to simply killing the clones and dropping an EMP the moment you can. Completely forced out, free points to take.
EDIT: Also, CRU's have an onboard scanner now.
Anyone who dies to a camped CRU more than once freaking deserves it. You know they're waiting, yet you're trying to force a bad fight.

I never had that problem,I brought uplinks.
Had to plant them well hidden near the objective and establish a perimeter and defend it till I spawn in a majority of the team.
Usually by then the proto stompers have managed to put two and two together and scanned in the opposite direction. And noticed a huge cluster of enemies right next to the point.
And that's why I love the amarr logistics. That sidearm and uplink bonus.

I agree spawn mcc and ground bring links, I cant say it enough.
Now if only those cru's were removed and the idea was promoted like give uplinkers more points.
Add in a secondary smart deploy with a few tweaks forcing your team to fight together and things are looking much better.

LOL but currently its the only option really when your cru is camped by 6 enemies at close range.
Just adds light to the issue at hand.

If you watch the video and read the entire thread you will see we discussed about that.
The problem is they just keep spawning whether they are new or they dont know how to view the map and scan radius I dont know but it is an issue.
Its even worse when it happens like in the video it was me and like 5 teammates close range camping their only cru they were spawning in by the fours and getting dropped before they could even turn around...

I didn't watch the video to the end (at work and the video could have used some trimming for time) but at I count at least four perfectly viable other places the team could have spawned at for the first ten minutes or so. A different match might better illustrate your point better with some of the extra fluff removed.
I do despise ground spawn camping (seriously it's complete BS) but what I'll seeing here is just players happily running off the cliff. One spawn death is unfortunate, two is hoping to get lucky and break the siege, any more than that and you deserve every expensive death you get. |

I like walking as well, don't mind running over 700mts back-n-forth every few minutes cause I'm the only uplink scout on my team.

I think the EMPs would be underrated Farm kills first, points second/never Sometimes its that easy, then 1+1 gets put together, then its time to take outside points Its constantly ignored There are plenty of.... slow learners in Dust. But sometimes you can turn it into a good fight. Then more reds show up.... time to go.

I swear that every time I try and hack a spawn camped CRU, I'm the one who gets shot by the redberry that spawns in and is invincible for a few seconds.

This only happens to newberries and those who are up for a real challenge of 6 mercs waiting on the next clone to spew out.. Not really a rampant problem.. 95% of the time theres someone like me who runs in and hacks it, like me.
