There should be something in place for new players to be able to face prototype players. That or not face them at all untill the new player is able to.
It really stupid to have someone with less than 1 mill of sp facing someone who has proto suit, stats, and weapons.
Iv gotten the drop on several players in proto but all they do is turn and drop me. Its way too unbalanced to be called fair.
This is not helping player base because its giving no incentive to fight. I literally had to avoid tring to find anyone cuz my dmg output is tickling their proto. At that rate i cant even get enough WP's to get SP.
New players should keep facing new players even after academy graduation. The people who graduated academy face the newbs who also recently graduated and they stay that way untill they are ready to face other prototype players.

How many people do you think play this game?
I doubt there's enough 'newbs' for them to consistently fill games all on their own. Not saying it's fair, but nothing is really fair in this game.

Beat me to it. I think that is good for the game. A newbie getting a kill versus a proto suit is exciting and fun for them. I remember the feeling.

Not when the person in Proto also has Locus Grenades and especially not if the person in Proto has Precision Enhancing Modules at Level 5 equipped.
This game needs Proto Gear removed from Public Contracts.

I play matches where 90% of the redberries are running Proto so you are essentially telling this person to go AFK.
Also, I play against you and your squad a lot and you people run Proto in Public Contracts quite often. For the well-being of this game have you thought about not running Proto in Public Contracts? You and the people you squad with usually do just fine when you run your Advanced Suits so I don't see why you so often bring out Proto Gear to go after newberries. |

Are you kidding me? Do I really have to explain this to you?
If I know you are approaching me from around the corner I can cook a grenade, time it right, and blow you to pieces before you know what is going on.
As a matter of fact I just played an Acquisition match against Doushe Gabbana at which there was a moment where both of us were positioned around the corner from one another, we had no direct line of sight to each other at any point before this moment, yet it was very obvious that both of us knew exactly where one another was positioned, we knew the speed we were approaching each other, and with my experience in the game I knew for a fact that he was going to throw a grenade at me; which he did.
***I'm editing this to add that even though Doushe Gabbana was running Proto and used a Locus Grenade against me while I was running an APEX Suit (230 Shield/492 Armor) and a 'Quafe' Assault Rifle he was not able to take me out with that grenade. Doushe Gabbana is a skilled player with plenty of experience in this game and him failing to take me out with a Locus Grenade should show that telling a newberry to use Locus Grenades to combat Proto players is not a viable or effective option. |

I have a lr am..assault with 2 mill so that has a 9.3 kdr and I drop 30 bombs with it regularly ..
And can't honestly understand the qq if you can't zap a proto suit with a suit 1/10 of the value of that proto suit you need to learn to shoot
A 20k std assault can easily kill any suit
Plus grenade buff ....

Of course your familiarity with the game and the squad you most likely run with has nothing to do with how well you do playing under your alt.

I believe technically this is true but I feel it would take too much flavor out of the game.
Though I do believe Militia Gear should be removed and replaced with more racial variances of weapons and vehicles. All Militia BPOs people have can be converted to Standard BPOs. |

What "flavor?"
The "ooooh! My new Rifle does [x] more DPS! It shoots the same, sounds the same, looks the same, has the same mag size, same sight, same everything except damage!"-type flavor?
The "oooohh! My shield extender has 22 more HP, but is still fundamentally identical to the blatantly obsolete shlt-tier stuff below it!"-type flavor?
Tastes more like the flavor of rotten meat to me. I think our stew could do without it.

I'm not going to go into details of the flavor seeing how we all have different taste buds but I will point out that given that there are a lot of people, myself included, who wish that we weren't limited to 30 fitting slots is a clear indication that this game has a lot of flavor to it. |

I'm not against your stance, but PG and CPU limits add flavour as far as tiers go.

The "flavor" as I see it,comes from the module TYPES, the suit TYPES, the weapon TYPES, and all variants within.
Tiers? How is one fitting kitted out with full Advanced stuff meaningfully different ("flavor"-wise) from the same exact fitting but with proto?
They are functionally identical, but one does more damage, has more health, stealth and better [insert trait here]. They are the same flavor, but one is simply more powerful. One may as well be obsolete.
Get rid of the sub proto tiers, and you know what? You still have 30 slots for different flavors, and you don't have to waste one on less "flavorful" (ie weaker) ones.
The best part of the game, to me, is functional variety.
@Shaun
CPU&PG differences can be replicated via new variants of, say, shield extenders that have different characteristics.
Ex: proto stays the same Take Advantage tier, bump it to proto, keep the CPU/pg the same, and add resistances, recharge delay, whatever to it.
Boom. Kinda keeps lesser items but they add flavor

I'm pretty sure the squads of Proto and Adv I have been slaughtering today with my 'Quafe' Assault Rifle are experiencing a much more bitter flavor than they would had I been using Proto Gear. The flavor in this game is complex. |

More interested in seeing how the matchmaker works with a larger player-base before going into tier locking. Tier locking is essentially sharding and for the sake of dogma toward a One Universe ideal (New Eden), I'm not a fan.
