Why in the hell do you think it's ok to strafe through a barrage of bullets coming from a HMG 10 meters away. It was abuse plain and simple. My KDR is finally going up thanks to that BS. It needs to stay away forever.

I also think the strafe nerf was a bit excessive honestly. My Ferro ak.0 feels like I have a plate on in comparison to pre nerf speeds. There are players who apparently don't know how to track a target moving in a predictable pattern.... also this didn't fix hit detection I still get hit detection issues....

Circle strafe is fine but side to side = bulletsponge

By the way circle strafe still works you dumb academy level corp tax sponging blueberry. You just cant dance in front of an HMG ianymore, nor take for granted you are going to walk away in a 300 hp scout vs a 800 hp assault.
In a one vs one its still viable. But you wouldnt know that would you, blueberry?

My KDR is finally going up thanks to that BS. It needs to stay away forever. I think that was a mixture of bad hit detection , strafing and damage not registering at the same time ( I guess you can call that hit detection as well ) , I can't count how many times I've pelted someone with HMG rounds , only to see them step threw the fire and shotgun or rifle me .
I hear the pings but don't see the register .
So I just think that it wasn't just strafing that was effecting that for you because it wasn't just you that was happening to .
( Not saying , you said it was . )

Do you know how many people would quit the game if they actually had to aim when they shoot and not just spray and pray .?. for a game that touts it's self to be a " Tactical Shooter " , that part of the game is a joke in it's self .
Spray and pray is not tactical .
I guess it is for some .
Those that like it easy .

Same crap in DUST, no gungame just strafe and spray, good old mk.0 and acr................................. So gun game is determined by two people standing still and shooting at each other and seeing who kills the other first? |

This post is so confusing to me.........
Wiggling out of damage is an exploit of this games' poor hit detection. How is superb gun-game going to solve this?
The reduction is really not that noticeable and the people that R*** still R*** just fine.
Imagine if CCP was able to implement some type of strafe inertia instead.....with no crutch would you guys be put on suicide watch?

This is a bad idea, really.
Strafing shouldn't allow you to take no damage at all because of bad hit detection (because it is bad hit detection, it's not you being particularly good at doing the mighty "figure 8 of death" that anyone can do), it should, instead allow you to take less damage because you avoided like some of the bullets. Some of the bullets.
We have talked countless times about the correlation between strafing speed / internet speed / distance from the battle server that anyone who really wants a fair fight can't ignore.
I'm probably going to repeat myself, but:
1) looks like Dust uses a server-based hit detection 2) Using a server-based hit detection, the lower your ping, the better hit detection gets 3) If you strafe in front of an enemy latency works with you and against him because he will shoot at the position you were 50, 60, 100 etc milliseconds before. 4) Lag compensation indeed works (otherwise the game would be unplayable) although it fails when you communicate with the server faster than your opponent and when you strafe quickly. 5) Like this wasn't enough, this game suffers a lot of framerate drops,so, in particularly laggy games, you would probably have even more problems tracking an opponent strafing because your framerate doesn't keep up the strafing speed.

Good gungame means literally doing good while using shi*ty weapons/underperforming weapons: it often referred to people who could get a certain number of headshots in the shortest amount of time (in order to be as deadly as a good weapon).
The "Gungame" was sorta exaggerated in MGO series where you almost couldn't get a kill that wasn't for headshot.
As you can see, gungame doesn't involve "figure 8" or "circle strafing" at all. It just means being good at aiming, positioning, awareness etc.
