Which is it?
The Biotic family has been broken for way too long now. It was cute for a couple weeks, but now OHKs from flying commandos has worn out the novelty. Same for guys with shotguns clearing 80 meters in two jumps.
Honestly Ratatti are you guys just so bad at your job you can't hot fix the myos at least? That is assuming you are not stupid enough to think that the player base you built up secretly want to play HALO. Having cover and terrain completely negated by builds that can close on you before they are even red dots on your scanner then OHK you with a shotty or melee is something I really hope is a bug and you get off your lazy or incompetent ass and fix. No excuse for this to have gone on as long as it has. Over half of the players in Pubs now are flying commandos etc. Like is said cute for a couple days, but most of us are over it. How about you grow some balls and at least address the issue in writing here. |

Just get used to shooting them out of the air. It is not like they can strafe while falling. They have a fairly predictable flight path.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

The stacking penalty issue was addressed by limiting myofibs to at max 3 per fitting. CCP Rattati doesn't believe they deserve any more of a nerf.
I don't like myofibs either, cupcake. I just know they are loved by Rattati so they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Your best best is to fit a projectile weapon because they do well vs. armor (the only tank a myofibber can fit) and hope your gun game is on point.

Another inane answer. Come on guys "shoot them out of the air". That's an original thought. It helps when they are not on a roof out of view, jumping from behind you over a wall, jumping faster than your reticle trains, or closing a 40 meter gap in less than one second. The issue it that the myos are not applying a they should., and the maps are not designed to handle players who can jump buildings. This is a developer issue not a change playstyle issue. |

I wish I could find the server or game in which half the players are running melee/jump fits. Maybe the game would prove entertaining at that point and would actually be worth playing for more than one game a day.

It is not a dream. Its a reality. Join Pubs and aim your reticle at a jumping scout moving full speed and it takes 2 jumps to bring them into shotty range for 80 meters out. So rather you like it or not it is the reality. |

Join Pubs anytime after 8. Pretty much every game over half of each team are commandos...most of them flying. For the 2 minutes the games last any before one side redlines the other. |

I have been. I'm lucky to spot maybe two to three of these guys a game, the rest are either militia suits or the average run of the mill proto gear associated with the usual pub stomp. Aside from myself, I think I've only seen maybe two other commandos jumping, which is surprising given the melee damage...

1) Spot jumper. 2) Sidestep ball of plasma (easier because you know it is coming before they shoot) 3) Shoot at their body and track with their relatively slow horizontal drift while they fall through your line of fire giving you a head-shot. 4) If Scout, watch hilarious rag doll. If Medium Frame, adjust aim to finish them.

Trouble is, Mortishai, while they are flying they can be raining MD rounds down on you while you try to get a bead on them. It's not quite as simple as "Just kill them in the air". OP is a gagagoogoo baby troll, but the core issue he is having shouldn't be dismissed. Myofibs are broken and need a jump height reduction.

Fallacy #1 Spot jumper.
Its real easy if you have eyes all around your head. You don't. If you are lucky they are bad and come from the front or slowly so you can detect them. Maybe even a squadmate sees them, but in general when they jump over a wall right beside you there is nothing you can do about it. Remember, that if you have 70 million SP or all proto tanked its easier to do something about it. At low SP you have no counter play, and you cant even run the same fit to counter it.
Fallacy #2 Sidestep plasma Most aren't even bothering to run the plasma or MD. Its shotty and melee. Not side stepping that. Those that do plasma spam tend to shoot you from the back after you smoke them the first couple times (as that seems to be the weakest builds).
Fallacy #3 Shoot form a distance....
They are not in open country. They are camping building. You have to be 40 meters back for this to work, and that means you are not taking an objective. When they jump on top of you in the city you don't have the luxury of just aiming at your leisure.
Fallacy #4 Suit size
Seems to commandos these days that are the most common so no cool rag dolling. Except when the MD your face....
We all kill them everyday, That is not the point. The point is the mechanic is not applying the stacking penalties as needed and allowing guys to move around maps in ways that they were not designed to handle. Go put on a militia or basic fit on an alt with low SP and see how much you like the difference. Its much easier when you are geared up and high SP to ignore the issue. New characters already get grindered, but usually they can see guy shooting them coming down a corridor. When some guy jumps into your scan range 1/4 of second before he OHKs you it does not feel like you have opportunity to counter play them... because you don't. |

I have a controller and I do just fine keeping a bead on them and killing them o.O
It's simple, they jump at you, you run to where they were while turning around. They just straight up or away, you back away and aim at them. It's not like they can float above your head, they have to have a trajectory you know.

Im not sure it is working as intended, from what Ive read they put the jump bonus in as an aid to mobility (getting on ledges/crates/roofs/etc, but what people seem to primarily use it for is to abuse poor console reaction time by spamming it in head to head combat. With a mouse/keyboard control scheme this wouldnt be as much of an issue, but with slow analog stick traversal times its pretty much guaranteed to waste .5-1 second of even a good players time on target just from the huge velocity change of the player they are shooting at. Against normal run of the mill blueberries its absolutely impossible for them to go up against jump spammers, and thats why its being used so widely.
They need to make jumping less spammable while these modules are equipped, thats why Ive been advocating for a penalty to jump/mellee stamina cost (and possibly regen speed penalty) to be added to the myofibrils.
Of course my position assumes that myofibrils werent implemented to gain this kind of direct combat advantage (beyond what could be gained by exploiting rooftops and jumping-related mobility). Right now I think we have a kind of cloaking device situation here, where it was intended for increasing stealthyness and became a tool for direct slaying (that disproportionately affected bad players to boot), but if CCP actually intended this then... oh well. |

Then guess what.... provide market data on myofibrils, do a cross analysis on multiple other modules, and provide a conclusion.
Also, a simple, but by no means comprehensive survey of myofibril fits and the amount of users on a per-match basis done over the course of approximately 3 days to a week would be beneficial to convincing the Developers to enact change.
Data and data interpretation is a great way to get the attention of the developers. You did none of that. So why the hell should CCP and the rest of the community take the vitriol you spew seriously?

How about you take all that time kid.. All I have to do is log on to a Pub match. I love empirical information as well, but in this case anecdotal seems to be working pretty well. It does not take data to watch guys jump over entire buildings or punch for 1300+ damage. It's an obvious screw up they admitted to, but seem to either be fine with now or unable to change. Like I said earlier, if you want new players in the community having them die double digit times to guys they cant even see coming is not the answer. They can't even run the same set ups for months after they start as it takes millions of SP to run the suit and the biotics.
Besides, I was not aware so many on here answered for CCP...yourself included. Its not meant to be a discussion with forum trolls. Its meant to get an honest answer about if the future of the game is HALO or a Strategic FPS. Because, lots of guys are looking for other ways to spend their time already, and the longer this keeps up the more older guys leave because its not the way they want to play the game. Then with no new guys replacing them because they quit after getting MD spammed for three games or Punched to death 10 times....well you get the point. Hopefully without a spread sheet. |

Aim where they are going to land all you want. They become even more of a joke when you hand them a plasma cannon meaning by the time you adjust to track their flight you have been one shot killed by idiotic design. A/V weapons versus infantry was formerly the worst idea of all. The new winner is flying infantry with A/V that insta kills you and if he misses he can just one punch KO you.

By all rights it is working as intended. Three Complex Myros were designed to allow a player to get on top of a large crate and they do exactly that. They're not hard to counter as they have a pre-set path with which they're going to follow once they jump and there is nothing they can do to change that, unlike strafing. They can't use this ability in doors, either, so that effectively negates a -huge- portion of the map to them, in particular around many inside objectives.
And if they're close enough to use melee, then I'm of the volition that they kinda deserve to have high damage melee strikes considering that is what their fit is designed to do. It is not much different than a CalMando with a Sniper Rifle with stacked complex damage mods.
But further more you know for a genuine fact that they have had to sacrifice Shield HP or Weapon Damage in order to get that benefit, so countering with long-range anti-armor weaponry is your best bet and speaking from experience it is incredibly effective.

Not entirely true, depending on ceiling height it might actually be BETTER indoors for direct head to head combat, since they get dramatic velocity changes both at the start and halfway through the jump, instead of being committed to a long sailing jump arc.

Not sure this is a really effective argument since myofibrils represent an increase in both how dangerous a dropsuit is (via one shot mellee attacks) and how survivable it is (via grasshopper tactics). If you trade damage for damage, and/or survivability for survivability, its not a sacrifice, nothing has been lost. Its like the people back in the scout slayer era saying dampeners required a sacrifice in health... well, not really, if you look at health as survivability instead of just a raw HP number, dampeners clearly represented a much better return on investment in terms of survivability, otherwise we wouldnt have seen scouts use them in such numbers.
The same thing is playing out with the myofibrils.
I dont think they are horrendously overpowered like some people seem to, but they are a module that really dumps on noobs and I dont think they are being used as intended (currently they are being used overwhelmingly as an exploit in head to head combat instead of as an aid to mobility and positioning), so I'd like to see them tweaked a bit. |

For the record my uneducated friend, asking you to log on and see for yourself is not anecdotal. Look it up. The dictionary is a powerful tool. It would be if I asked you to rely only on my experience. What I am asking you to do is experiential learning. Learn to argue, I'm sure the local community college probably has a course in logic.
Even better just myo up your own scout and try it. Start running then aim your reticle at something 80 meters away then jump twice. If you are maxed at protos you will usually pass it and it is definitely within shotty range. It helps if you actually try something before you spew ignorance. Now after you prove yourself wrong please refrain from posting anymore trolly BS. |

Well I dunno about anyone else, but I actually went on and tested the 80 meter claim. I got 45 meters in a x3 myo caldari scout. I dont know if you meant with kincats or without, but I dont think even with 2 kincats on the thing I would have covered the remaining 35 meters that would make your claim valid (nor do I really care about the distance you can jump with these mods, I dont think it affects the balance as much as the huge boost to mellee damage and the spammability of the jumps in the first place) |

I mean really, low point in dusts history because of the myos? There are invincible madrugers rolling around right now, even if you are lucky enough that the enemy tanker chooses to bring in a gunnlogi, you can fire off two clips of swarms and he will still have half his shields left. Not to mention the crazy imbalanced scrambler rifle, and the armor/shield meta being completely off kilter. The myofibrils issue is small time. |
