It doesnt matter what game mode you play there is 99% of the times a guy who takes a dropship and then deploys uplinks up high. This kind of annoying gameplay needs to stop, its not tactical nor is healthy for the game fighting a guy up high who has a massdriver or some other scrub gun. My idea is why dont we copy paste the redline mechanics from dropships and then invert the value?
Explaination of the dropship redline mechanic: As soon a dropship reaches a certain flight altitude the redline for it is vastly expanded giving it more space to fly in, however when you get close to the ground the regualr redline mechanics are back into place just like for every other ground unit.
So since we now know about that why dont we put a hight limitation on where dropsuits can operate? Anything to high from the ground would become the redline and thus eliminating high ground camping which then turns into a better gameplay experience for everybody (except for the twatts who currently abuse this).

Securing high ground is an important strategy. Why the hell would you want to remove strategic options from the game?
There are plenty of ways to counter high ground camping.
If someone uses a strategy against you, you have two options: 1) counter it 2) cry on the forums
You have chosen option two. |

I like this idea. I hate when the only uplink on the map is located 500 feet up on top of some structure and I am forced to try to figure out the safest way to get down without being noticed; it's really annoying and it leads to a bunch of people camping up high instead of going for the objective. |

What team only has one guy laying links?
If they want that high ground, they will get it so long as they have vehicle superiority. You can minor flux as much as you want, but all they need is two guys to lay links. 14 total links between them, and you're going to have to scan and manually drop each flux, wasting tons of WP that could be used for more useful things (7 fluxes alone is 2100 WP, 14 is 4200, which is the cost of a major laser).
Even if you flux it all off, all they need to do is call in a DS on top, leave and resupply and come right back. You wouldn't realistically be able to devote the WP and Single man to drop OB's to sufficiently keep them off the high ground.

lol i understand this but its stupid the range of swarm launchers is 170 m i think 170m is pretty high and if you are going to limit my dropships es capability from the most opiest weapon i have ever seen in this game then i completely disagree |

I gues I can understand what u mean think there should be a minor reduction to how high ships should fly on certain stages cuz theyre able to get away a lil to easy. Allot are saying use flux strikes umm yea nobody does for a reason theyre incredibly inaccurate . Id lik to see flux strikes do a wider area of effect to compensate for that since major flux strikes can penetrate (lol) buildings which is awesome just atm minor fluxes suck

I disagree. If the enemy is willing to use their dropship to establish high ground superiority than that is there right. Most of these structures are only 200 meters off the ground last I remember. Dropships need far higher than that to fly...
This is the same with people bringing out tanks and such to establish vehicle superiority. If you can afford to field it, it should not be limited, but countered. As much as you might like Infantry 514, sometimes you need to take one for the team, get a dropship, fly up there yourself.
Ladder installation can happen another day, for now just call a DS and go kill some peeps. 07

It's ok. I mean you can counter it etc.. but ffs these glitched uplinks in walls and null cannons are annoying. Especially when you have thrown your fluxes already to find out there is still 3 more.

Next we can consolidate all maps into a single round 30m room with no cover. Then you can complain about how people won't run backwards at you while you pick them off with a hmg and that you almost ran out of ammo because no logi was next to you licking your bunghole. |
