I find it hard to believe that most slayers don't take advantage of max skills in passive scans. Especially, but not limited to, scout suits. They have a massive advantage over others in terms of passive scans, escpaing detection, getting kills.
So its fine seeing others before they see you on your passive radar, but when the situation is reversed, suddenly its a huge problem.
I just find scans simple to get around.
a) Scan them back. You don't need to pick up every random scout, but you can give the main horde of heavies, assasults and logis pause for thought, and let the blueberries know where the main push is.
b) Gal Scout/ Min scout: 9 times out of then it isnt a proto gal logi, its an assault using a scanner or the rumbleing tank that rolled by. You can get under damps and assasinate the scanner.
c) Vehicles: So you scanned my tank. Eat it. Or drive around the enemy with a decent fit LAV, logi, heavy combo to get uplinks down and start the flank move. Or just bombard them from the air.
d) fight your way through it. Yes they can see you, but good passive scans means you can see all of them Stay with the blob though, if scanned and alone, just relocate. Its trouble in a skirm, but if your in a dom , who cares, everybody is at the point.
There are two change to scans i would not mind. 200 m range proto scans, 200m is a bit much, covers far to much of the battlefield without risk to the player.
And, this is somebody elses idea, who ever is doing the scanning should also appear on the tacnet. Scanner will light up everybod in a straight line sure, but now everybody in a straight line will know exaclty where he is. Risk vs Reward. After all, everybody can follow the reptool stream to fin the min logi at the end of it, and hell drop uplinks and nanohives are giant flares saying "I'm an Amarr logi! SHOOT ME! Caldari logi here!"

Why not just make scanner precision drop a bit at range, like 0-25m it's at its stronges, 26-50m it drops a db or 2, then 51+ it drops 5db or something. |

Lol they gave you exactly what you guys asked for you wanted a cheap shotgun scout instead of a ewar scout with less fire power and you guys got it. I wish they would have just gave them two sidearm slots then the that extra time you had before de-cloak would have covered the dps loss not that it was even that much of one. You guys cry don't nerf me bro over and over so you get crappy nerfs because instead of working with the devs to make a better game you just say don't nerf me bro.

no because then assholes from negative feedback couldn't scan players in starter fits and shoot them in the back, don't take it away from the stat-padders, they NEED scanners, they can't do anything without a proto scanner, proto suit and proto weapon, just to find people in starter fits so they can shoot them in the back, cowards.
if you use a scanner you are a huge ****** and are killing this game, I'm sure it's fun for the new player in the starter fit being hunted down from 100m away because a proto squad is scanning them...oh wait the entire team benefits from scans now don't they? GG CCP. |
