So, Regular HMG is kinda poo now. So that got me wondering, and then I remembered the honourable beta heavies. They had gentlemanly duels with each other, instead of strafing they squatted and ADSed. They were great players.
This got me to this line of thought, why are heavies not the same?
1. The community in general lost honour and SP built up so people could try new things.
2. Scouts buffed, Assaults buffed, heavies and logis the same. A accidental nerf that slowed the TTK of HMG and made Heavies less dangerous.
3. Regular HMG 'Balanced' twice. Other variants buffed.
4. Strafing.
5. Meat grinder design in all new maps.
So, buff heavies???

edit: I don't want to troll actually.
Min assaults are to fast for the amount of speed relative to tank they can have. Amarr assaults are fine. Amarr scouts need a speed buff, and because e-War doesn't work (passive scans) their scan bonus isn't worth it. Cal logi's need another equipment slot TBH Cal heavies need more shield and less armor...the armor/shield % for cal heavy doesn't match up with the assault which IMO it should

Change how repairers work and you can buff sentinels as much as you want.
Without changing repariers, they should stay where they are.

Without changing repariers, they should stay where they are. Just lower TTK for HMG or more HP for heavies. I shouldn't be able to 1v1 a heavy in my Quafe suit and win.

Ive fought for heavies and the HMG`s position for as long as ive lurked in these forums only to see it nerfed over and over in multiple ways and eventually transcended into a cartoonish situational weapon out ranged by most sidearms.
Have you got anymore exploding carrots?

The speed is a maybe. Buff their speed, and every other scouts' speeds as well, then. |

To counter MinAss use Amarr assault.

How about we just change the HMG to be a functional weapon rather than a gimmick shotgun or instablap god gun?
WoW has taught me that Purple means Legendary. This means Quafe suits are the optimal loadout for killing all of you.

Heavy don't exist....
If people make it/think of it only like heavy + HMG + logi... this equal like remove heavys from game at all. If 'stars' here can do 70:0 in scout dropsuit and ... like 15:9 in heavy with officer weapon.. something is realy broken for heavys. If you manage do solo with HAV, but you can do this in heavy because logi is the must and rest of squad must cover him, still broken.
But who cares...

Ive done 54/14 in a militia minmatar heavy with all militia weapons and mods , used a militia HMG and SMG.
A few meat grinder spots with a lot of assaults and scouts with almost no heavies equaled a good match for me.

heavy health is too low relative to what medium/light suits can stack, medium suits cant have 70-80% of the health of heavy ones or the suit doesnt work. we'd like to see light suits drop into the 300 max total health range, medium suits in the 500 max total health range. the hmg [and shotgun] need the best short range accuracy. heavy turn speed also needs to be slower.

Well, it'd be pretty hard to buff heavies and Nerf other things because CCCP is just full of people that make one change and the entire world changes, if you ask me they're development offices are a Universe, and thinking of a solution is planetary conquest.
In all seriousness though, I think every objective should have choke points for Heavies, (not directly on the objective, for obvious reasons.) It would hint to play the objective or be scavenged by 4 scouts. Think of the Cloak Field, it's less visible in the day and more visible at not/shadows, so you have to know where your cloaking. This, my friend is called situational awareness and Heavies need this. But I can see your point with no meat grinders I understand, so the only solution is to find a choke point and dig down. |

Change the HMG operation to reduce dispersion by 7% per level. It makes the gun more of a skill weapon instead of a spray-and-pray weapon. And possibly buff the effective range by 10 meters and/or reduce the overheat by 25%. Just my opinion. |

I think HMGs should just return to the days of laser pinpoint bullet streams when the inverse dispersion finishes ramping up. It becomes a high skill weapon again that most people can't use. HMGs are good in the right hands, and crap in everyone elses. Skilled dodge players can fight a heavy and maybe win, maybe lose. Heavies can instablap ANYTHING, or do absolutely no damage depending on their skill. (Heat would have to be unnerfed to compensate)
No one hated heavies before the HMG dispersion has hotfixed in. No one spammed them either. |
