From what I understand most Projects don't end up keeping the project name when it gets released so this really means everything or nothing. It could mean that Legion is being dropped because they've decided to roll with Dust and eventually port it somewhere. It could mean that Legion is about to enter beta under a different name.

I believe it's pretty clear that the Dust keynote at Fan Fest 2014 holds absolutely no weight in the current state of affairs much like Fan Fest 2014 and Fan Fest 2012. They always talk a big game then something fundamentally changes in development.

We are such a loyal fan-base and that Rattati has done an incredible job at creating a relationship with the community that without him speaking to us for 2 weeks, we think the world will explode.

I'm rooting for Dust to PS4 after hearing some of the rhetoric about what they had planned for Legion. Dust isn't far off from being awesome. I worry that PC means a totally different game.

I agree. Especially after getting NO information about Legion for a long time now. I don't want a name that reminds of that (example: Legion).
Dust 514 is actually a fitting name to be carried over to be honest with you. The game felt like it died and was turned to Dust but then we emerged from the Dust with a new lease on life.
Remember this old commercial? A very fitting description of how Dust is.

I see this as a good thing. It can't be just simple coincidence that as soon as Aero Yassavi's and Avallo Kantor's idea gets the attention of Rattati suddenly he is nowhere to be seen. He's probably in some underground lab in AREA 51 conducting mad-scientist-like experiments on how the CORE modules would work with little gray men as assistants and USAF MPs standing guard at the door.
