ACQUISITION: - This is basically whoever brings the tank or ADS wins. I played 5 matches this morning, all losses. Tanks roll on the field and sit right in front of the objective to be hacked and shoot you. When the objective changes, the tank just moves like 30-50km and rinse and repeat or the ADS flies overhead and shoots down ordinance on your face. This is worse than vehicles in ambush mode.
I vote NO vehicles except LAV's in acquisition mode. =========================================
PLAYER TRADING - I was so excited for this until I clicked on a corp mate and noticed I can only trade officer stuff. I can't give my buddy remote explosives I'll never use or mass drivers I'll never use. So that is a HUGE disappointment. =========================================
SKINS - I only see the legacy skins. Where are the rest of them? =========================================
Matchmaking - I barely have any advanced gear, as I'm a relatively new player but I was up against proto tanks and proto ADS and proto carthum assault scramblers and ishukone assault rail rifles in acquisition mode this morning. Where is the matchmaking!? =========================================
So yeah, very disappointed so far with Warlords 1.1. What the hell? I mean these are small things and thank you CCP for continuing to expand the game but dang guys this sucks. |

I can't say about he game mode cause I haven't played it.
But
PT- read announcements because they said officer and experimental are the only things that will be tradable in the beginning.
And matchmaking, I know this may seem harsh, but try to get good. I can stomp protos with militia gear, only because I'm pretty good. Not as good as all my other veteran bretheren, but I'm still good.

1) A big part of acquisition is to come up with ways to react to a changing situation. The team just needs to deal with vehicles or bring their own. Make a cheap plc and av grenade fit and you can chase away most havs.
2) Trading was limited, and announced, to experimental and officer while the feature is being tested by the mass of players. We plan on unlocking many more tradeable items as fast as we can.
3) faction skins have now been deployed, there was a slight miscommunication but that has been fixed. Pirate skins are in the strongbox
4) It is quite common that the first days after a new release, get quite competiive while veterans rage all around the battlegrounds. If you are good enough to be playing with them, limit your losses by using starter loadouts, and honestly, not meant in a bad way, practice. I am in the exact situation, doing terribly but, you know, every kill and hack counts. Sometimes playing support in these situations is fun, try a tank, do something different.

I would figure it out if I were you, otherwise you'll continue to get dominated by moving targets in short to medium range encounters. Standing there "like a man" only gets you killed in FPS games like Dust.

In the hopes you might see this I just want to say I understand the game mode requires a different style of play but the distance the panel moves might need a look at. I just played a game and the enemy held the 3 panels that spawned for the entire game mostly because each panel moved about 25 steps from its last spawn point. It was exceptionally easy for the enemy team to dig in with heavy's. the distance to the next panel was so small it meant nothing.

Why don't the acquisition panels move very far?
They should literally jump to extreme points to the map so LAV's must be called in or you must run, not take a couple steps. I thought we were gonna chase the objective, not turn around walk 20 steps and hack another one. |

GǪJudging solely from the post-feedback, I think I'm going to enjoy Acquisition matches a LOT.
Time and again, there are incidents/additions/changes in this game that painfully remind visitors/Newberrys/Vets/etc that this game is BEST played by persons who are GOOD at (or can LEARN to get good at) assessing an obstacle, quickly devising un-tradidtional solutions they never learned in other fps games, gaining confidence working with strangers on your team, and TEARING DOWN the obstacle FAST. The faster you can analyze and tear down the obstacle, the healthier and more frequently you win the matches (sometimes even WITHOUT a lot of assist from your teammates).
I'm as worthless as rubbish when it comes to racking up any kills for a Killboard or KDR,GǪ but I'm a great LEARNER of how to quickly swap out tactics to keep a match fluid and winnable--and it's beginning to show in my match-wins tally. Domination Matches, (even Ambush matches, if folks would only get the hint ), are really good at separating us into these two kinds of combat-players.
Just from reading about Acquisition Mode's design, some of us could tell that: Having only ONE or TWO strategies for reaching targets unmolested AIN'T gonna make you adaptable in the match. Sometimes you'll need to stay entirely up in DS's to beat the enemy to distant prizes. Sometimes the prizes in a fight will be 10 feet from each other--and you foolishly bet all your success on waiting for the enemy become vulnerable after he remobilizes, instead of looking for a way to weaken his assets NOW and not wait for luck.
It sounds like Acquisition is is going to remind some of us again, how poor we are at surviving against a thinking opponent,GǪ and how many of us don't want to deal with the frustration of LEARNING to think-n-solve. And QUICKLY,GǪ "ouch--ooch--hurry up! Ouch!"

Wow that is drastically different from my experience in playing it today. I honestly think the mode would become bland without vehicles in it (no didn't bring in a vehicle of my own during any of my game time today, unless you count a free non-combat LAV). Won several matches without vehicles on our side even against teams who had 2 or more vehicles on the field. Destroyed 3 HAVs and a DS with my STD swarm fit (over the course of the day not in one match).
From my play time today I'm opposed to any unusual throttling of vehicle deployment within Acquisition.

It's not fun playing to lose game in game out, which is kinda what you want this guy to do with the starter loadouts. It gets old quite quickly playing a losing game. Old as in, sit in the redline and just wait it out. That's the point I'm to now when I'm trying to make isk.
Sure I can go out with a free suit and make some kills, but if the mode doesn't say AMBUSH, than that alone won't contribute to a win. So generally I just go out there, get a feel for what's going down, and if it's a clear and apparent stomp, go sit in a quiet spot and AFK it out.
Sure I could keep trying, but when you are the only person pushing a point or throwing in any effort (or just the only one that can make a kill) things get old quite fast. I've had enough of those games that I just follow the blueberries and give up. At least this way I can actually go do something enjoyable rather, but then the game becomes nothing but a slow slow grind.

Where? The trading dev blog clearly states:
Quote:Once this feature is released, mercenaries will finally be able to trade their earned Officer Gear, become middle men for Loyalty Store gear, and swap Experimental Gear with each other and any other ISK gear bought on the marketplace or salvaged from battles.
The only things alluded to not being tradable by the dev blog is Aur items.
Play the fucking objective you goddamn dipshits.

Regardless, I think acquesition mode is more dynamic and enjoyable than regular domination (which is a campfest), even if the objective only moves a little bit each time.

You practically need a full squad working simultaneously for just one tank, and if you have multiples, or one to two mercs picking off easy AV pickings at the same time? You might as well quit the battle and find a different match.

Oh how fun, another person trying to pretend prototype gear doesnt confer a huge advantage that new players shouldnt even have to deal with until they actually have a chance to get good and get gear.
Its this kind of attitude that helps make dust extremely unattractive to new players, which is why the game is in such a sorry state right now.
Get good? How about you get empathy and rationality and consider how absurd and counterproductive it is to introduce new players to the game by throwing them into matches with vets who have the top of the line gear and can murder them in half a second with zero effort. |

Yes for vehicles in Aquisition. Since the points take place at different locations of the maps vehicles will be victorious! This is like the only game mode where vehicles can be of high value. Not immediately shot down at the one place they have to be like in Domination.
