It doesn't take any creativity though.
Just convince someone to send you their stuff first and that's it. No repercussions for stealing peoples stuff. You can't get camped at station for being a prick and stealing, at worst people focus on you a little more in match and bad mouth you on forums.
Some people are going to make BILLIONS just stealing assets.

I am selling things for very cheap so I can sell fast and other people can make a profit, but this is ridiculous. I would never think of cheating someone but I think my only option is to ask for the ISK first. I will NOT get stolen from and I know that I can and will pay up. However, for those assholes out there, this just encourages stealing and theft. I don't know why they didn't set up interface where it shows what one side is offering and what the other side is offering and you both have to confirm. This is unfair and preys on those with a trusting nature and those who are new.
Will I seem like I am trying to cheat people if I ask for ISK first?

I agree with your points though, and am left scratching my head at why they went this route. Well, not really, I imagine they ran into a technical hurdle and without adequate resources and manpower, opted to release it as is instead of putting it off for another 6 months.

I run events for my corp. Up until now they are only awarded ISK. For really big events I award a $10 PSN card.
Now that player trading is here I can give away officer stuff, and one day, boosters or whatever.
Being able to run corporate events like this will increase my corpmate's enjoyment and their chances of sticking around. Especially if they are new.
TL;DR - Quit being such a crybaby

However, I did say that if I didn't pay my items in 7 days of them sending me ISK, they could send a ticket and I would willingly be banned. I hate how easy this makes it to cheat people out of money.

Let's call Simple Player Trading for what it is: Dust 514 FedEx. You are sending an item somewhere. It's not the dual-acceptance trading that they have in Eve Online or other games, but it's what CCP Shanghai can pull off right now.
I want the system to be better too, but we have to play the hand we are dealt. Right now, enjoy the tears from vets who don't realize the system is trust based and try to help new players when you can.

LOL, I just texted an EVE buddy of mine and he said, and I quote, "I don't trust anyone but me, myself, and I when it comes to EVE. There's too many assholes in it for themselves and I am one of those assholes. If they had trust-based trading, I think that less than 1% of us would use it and only .01% wouldn't be stolen from at one point or another."

Hey I'm happy we have something, I'm just curious if the good it adds will offset the bad. And I'm also on my endless crusade of bashing CCP for freezing funding to this project

Ehhh. The trustworthy will find themselves with the most business as they have built a brand and honor among mercs. The only scary part is figuring out who's trustworthy right now. I delve into this subject months back when I first heard of it and basically in this type of community, if you get over on someone, people will know and will know pretty quick so for those who rather keep business, they'll stick to a certain code of ethics and never (read: barely) pull one over on their customers.

Nobody is worshiping ccp and just to let you know been here for a while but took a long break (Hopes that shows u how much of a fanboy I am)But trading even in its lower from is still a good feature. And they already said that is just till they work the bugs out so why freak out. |

The scam I foresee is sending items to random people, then trying to sully their name, or get them banned for not paying for goods tendered. All kinds of new trolling methods will arise.

Good rule of thumb while using this trading method:
1) only trade with ppl u trust (still risky)
2) do small trades (you have a 100 thales sniper rifles but still do 5 or 10 at a time, reciting payout each time)
3) do it at your own risk

what part of gifting items is trading? trading = an exchange of items between two people, not my sending items to a merc in high hopes

Buyers - only buy from reputable players who you have done background checks on, or those you know you can trust.
Sellers - have a 'cash-upfront policy' for deals with new accounts, or (only) sell to players you can trust.
Traders - proceed with caution, trade items one at a time to minimise risk.
Scammed? - This is why extreme caution should be taken when doing any trade. Always do background checks (DoB, Lifetime WP/Kills, etc). New accounts can be disposable, vet accounts not. Add scammers to a public blacklist. If you got scammed by a new account, more fool you.
