Assuming a player is attracted to Dust in the first place, or assuming a player randomly downloads the game, it's prolly not the traditional shooter elements that keep that player in the game. Almost certainly not given the range of broken systems, poor mechanics, etc.

The player is sticking around because there are ideas and systems in Dust that make the game something more than 'just another poorly implemented f2p shooter'.

Imo gating those engaging systems behind a paywall or a time-played wall effectively ostracizes noobs from gameplay, and using Loyalty Rank is a mistake. We definitely do need anit-scamming controls, but what Rattati has proposed with Loyalty Rank will hurt the NPE as well as the veteran player experience.

What he's proposing is basically the same old vets trading with the same old vets(and not even all the vets). I'd wager players are leaving the game faster that they are attaining LR 4.

DUST has a LOT of features where the weak stay weaker and the strong grow stronger.

Soooo.... I bought 4 Templar sets, and put the spare 3 on ALTs, as it didn't make sense having them all on one account. This way I could play ALTs with BPOs once I had capped on this account. Now you say that because I never bought any AUR on those ALTs and didn't reach the crazy high "gametime" requirements to reach level 4, I will not be able to sell these items?!

You gotta be frigging kidding me! So, what now? I gotta go illegal and sell the PSN accounts? If not, I gotta spend real money just to enable the sale of these items OR play each ALT for 2 years.

AFTERTHOUGHT: How about you (CCP) tell me how much AUR it takes to get to level 4 with AUR alone, then check how much AUR I spent on THIS account.... then tell me why I can't trade from my ALTs! If it's -ú25, then I should be granted trading abilities for at least 4 ALTs!

People who think alt farming is a problem should be taken out back behind the barn and put out of their misery. Component farming is one exception, but honestly, for someone to alt farm for experimental gear they would have to dump thousands into this damn game, which should make CCP happy. Otherwise it is limited to isk and the occasional oficcer gear. So what?? My alts have a whopping one or two of an officer suit and MAYBE a couple of officer weapons. Can you really call it farming if I will literally never get any of that on another alt? The only way to farm weapons would be to continually make accounts, use the newsletter link for 4 of each, and then repeat that over and over. If someone is that damned determined, I say let that crazy fool have his bloody weapons. Rattati, ffs man, I had hope for you, but recently you are nothing but disappointment after disappointment. For every great innovation there is a pint of poison that corrupts it all. Also, gold keys aren't even worth farming. Boxes still give crap rewards most of the time.

As i mentioned in the sticky. perhaps instead of a specifici loyalty rank have it where trading becomes available after 90days of being created OR if you purchase Jara it opens it up immediatly

Yeah so, remember all those newsletters? Make an alt, grab all the free newsletter goodies, send to main character, delete alt. Repeat until you are balls deep in boosters and officer weapons.
