LUGMOS: Dang you. Lag switching does work on Dust 514 lol! I tested it my self so stop listening to the people that's doing it lol. You can lag switch this game. So you lag switched. You piece of **** hypocrite No I tested it! I don't use it you A******.
You tested it? So you disconnected from Dust and logged in and saw you lost a fitting?
Because legit, that's all that would happen lol |

Anyway, lag switching is a valid tactic. I got mine on the recommendation of Draxus Prime of t.h.i.r.d.r.o.c.k, and I couldn't be more pleased. The model I have basically lets me pause everybody else's game and go 50+/0. I do miss the corp lagswitch...

You can lagswitch in games like Dust- although it gives you more problems than benefits:
- You are literally stopping your ps3 from sending datas to the main server, so that even if you move, the second you pull back your connection you will be automatically teleported back to your last known position, moreover, if you got shot in the meantime you'll get the full damage as soon as you reconnect.
- You can't lag-kill no one since your playstation does not communicate.
- That's the main reason why high latency is a disadvantage in games like Dust.
Guinea Dust Bunnies are watching you, CCP Rouge.

If you can prove otherwise, that'd be pretty useful. But as it's pretty difficult to watch screens from two different countries at the same time, it's relatively hard to figure out if anything is working in an unintended manner. as long as your ping is within the data time window, yes you will lag. The moment you go outside that window is when all the magic happens and you get kaizuka sniper and such Read somebody just said they was lagging the game! I know cause I tested it my self. He was trolling you. Third rock was accused of lag switching a few weeks ago, and it was one of the more insane threads these forums have seen in months. Hence why he threw out the third rock reference. You clearly have no idea how a lag switch works. You don't have no idea on how it works lol. Talk only what you know its real easy.

I had some bad lag issues last week, so I took my PS3 apart and cleaned the dust out. Then, I deleted almost everything on the hard drive and restored the database and file system, working like a charm since.
Some people find it easier to blame others for their problems, some people take ownership of their flaws and hammer out a solution. Which are you, Hitman? |

I need to clean my system out badly, but I can't find a deep enough but skinny enough driver to extract that damn star screw in the side. Closest one I got just touches it.. such a tease. This is one of the fat backwards originals

Video proof, please. If evidence was collected that allows such a thing, it should be placed here on the forums or in a help ticket so that it can be further tested and fixed.

a game that comes to mind that wound up wioth a metric fkton of lag switchers and killed it , that I once loved, and can't even play no more if I wanted too.. is Socom Confrontation, loved that fkn game..hated the lag switchers, and you knew damn well when it happened.
Somehow, I was very good at that game , was part of a small but very competitive group. Loved my desert eagle Gladys, you didn't get to show yourself and live to tell about it when I had that baby out. Yet, I completely suck at this game , however I run solo majority of the time.. maybe thats what it is, I dunno. |

There is no lag switching going on in Dust.
What we have going on is bad hit detection in slow framerate situation, made exponentially worse when you face high-ping players.
This is often misinterpreted in several ways, including lag switching as was done by the OP. |

LUGMOS: Dang you.
Exactly. Take it from a former videogame hacker, Games are divided into a client and a server. Dust is server based. You would literally have to be in control of the server to use lag-switching.
For those of you freaking out because I admitted that once upon a time I was a hacker, let me alleviate your worries by saying this that was literally years ago and it was on my PSP. I was just a kid and have since learned that cheating on games for fun is not worth getting banned for.
